(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 10 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

8. [Chongqing] Ms. Zeng Yunhui and Ms. Bai Shuzhen Detained
9. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yue Xiuhua Arrested

1. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhao Fei Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

Ms. Zhao Fei was sentenced to five years in prison by the Wuqing District Court. She appealed with the Tianjin First Intermediate Court, which upheld the original verdict. She was taken to the Tianjin Women’s Prison around mid-July 2025.

2. [Mengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Caihong Arrested

Ms. Wang Caihong, a single mother, was arrested at home on July 10, 2025, after officers from Chengbo Town Police Station broke in. The police took her away without allowing her to pick up her six-year daughter from the kindergarten or call others for help.

3. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Yang Yifan Faces Trial

Mr. Yang Yifan was scheduled to appear in Chenghua District Court on July 27, 2025. He was arrested on May 19, 2023 and has been held in Chengdu Detention Center for more than two years.

4. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Sun Hongli Detained for 15 Days

Ms. Sun Hongli was arrested at home on February 12, 2025 by officers from Jiguan District Domestic Security Division and the Nanshan Police Station. She was detained for 15 days.

5. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Shuxiang Arrested

Ms. Sun Shuxiang was on the way to the Taocun Town farmers market on the morning of June 24, 2025, when she was stopped by five officers from Taocun Town Police Station. They said that someone had reported her. They took her to the police station and interrogated her. They then took her home and confiscated several Falun Gong books. Several police officers harassed her again the next afternoon.

6. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Jin Yue’s Husband Arrested

Ms. Jin Yue was arrested on May 13, 2025. She was taken for a physical examination the next day, and about seven police officers held her down to do an electrocardiogram, a chest X-ray, and a blood draw. Captain Zhao Junfeng from the Cang County Domestic Security Division punched Ms. Jin on the head and back during the checkup. After Ms. Jin’s husband posted the incidents on Weibo, a popular Chinese blog platform, the police arrested him in retaliation.

7. [Chongqing] Mr. Yu Haian Detained

Four officers broke into Mr. Yu Haian’s home on the afternoon of July 9, 2025 and confiscated two computers, two printers, Falun Gong books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and an incense burner. They tore up a pair of couplets and calligraphy of the Chinese characters “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance.” Mr. Yu was detained for 15 days.

8. [Chongqing] Ms. Zeng Yunhui and Ms. Bai Shuzhen Detained

Ms. Zeng Yunhui and Ms. Bai Shuzhen, in her 50s, were arrested by officers from the Shuishang Police Station on January 21, 2025, when they were posting Falun Gong materials along the Yangtze River. Both of them appeared in the Jiulongpo District Court on June 23, 2025. Ms. Bai, who was originally released on bail, was taken into a detention center after the hearing.

9. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yue Xiuhua Arrested

Ms. Yue Xiuhua, 72, was arrested by plainclothes officers on the morning of July 12, 2025, when she was talking to people about Falun Gong at the Damoujia Market in the nearby Gaomi City. She refused to sign anything at the Damoujia Police Station.

The police took Ms. Yue back home at around 11:30 a.m. to search the place, but couldn’t get in without the key. They released her around 5 p.m. that afternoon.
