Canada Minghui School Holds Third Fa Conference

July 3, 2025 |   By the Minghui Toronto News Station

(Minghui.org) The Canada Minghui School in the Markham area of Toronto held its third Fa conference on June 29, 2025. Eighteen young Dafa disciples, two teachers, and two parents shared their cultivation experiences.

In a world filled with ignorance and suffering, people are often corrupted by modern trends and become self-centered. The children at the Minghui School, however, swim against the current to cultivate their minds, and treat others with kindness

How do they do this? At the conference, the children shared their experiences of maintaining their composure and overcoming challenges in the face of conflicts, temptations, and trials. Meanwhile, teachers and parents, who seek to improve themselves as they guide the children, shared how they created a healthy environment for the children's development while paying attention to their own improvement.

Canada Minghui School successfully held its third Fa conference.

Minghui School teachers and students shared their experiences.

Zixiang Can Endure Hardship

Zixiang works hard to improve his flexibility, because he hopes to become a Shen Yun dancer when he grows up.

Eight-year-old Zixiang (Shawn) has been dancing for five years. To practice doing the splits, he has to lean against a wall and spread his legs 180 degrees apart. At first, he couldn't do it. When his dad helped push his legs apart, he cried from the pain.

His father asked him if he wanted to give up, but Shawn said, “No.” “If you do, your legs will stop hurting right away,” said his father. “I will persevere,” said Shawn.

His dad suggested that they recite one of Master Li’s poems, “Tempering the Will” in Hong Yin, together. After reciting it once, Shawn’s legs hurt even more and he cried harder, but his dad repeated the poem over and over.

Shawn cried as he recited Master’s words along with his father, when he suddenly felt the pain in his legs begin to fade until they felt almost comfortable. He turned to his dad and said, “Push a little more.” That night, he made great progress and broke through his own barriers.

Shawn also practices jumping. He said, “At first, it was difficult to jump even once, and after ten jumps, I couldn’t do any more. But then I remembered the story of water dripping through stone and wearing the stone down, which inspired me to practice every day. I went from being able to jump 300 times to 600 times, and now I can easily jump 1,000 times. There were times when I wanted to slack off and give up, but I persevered because my dream is to dance with Shen Yun.”

Yixuan Is No Longer Obsessed with Making Money

Allen overcame the attachment to making money.

This year, nine-year-old Yixuan (Allen) suddenly developed an interest in selling things to make money. He took his toys to school and sold them. Initially, the variety of toys was limited, so business was slow.

He then traded toys with his classmates, sold them at a higher price, and used the proceeds to buy new ones. Every day, he thought about how to make more money, which made it difficult for him to concentrate on his lessons and kept him from doing his homework.

One day, Allen suddenly realized that he had made a mistake. He said, “I am a cultivator, and I must be fair in doing business. I can't set prices too high just to make a profit or I will lose virtue.” After this realization, he returned all the money he had earned to his classmates.

Amy Wants to Improve

After she improved, Amy stopped showing off her new purchases to her classmates.

On the way to school, seven-year-old Amy recited Han Yu's “On Horses” with her sister and mother. Suddenly, she felt the urge to recite it alone. However, she struggled to remember the lines. Her sister laughed and said, “You just want to show off.” Amy realized her desire to impress others was too strong and had hindered her ability to memorize the poem.

Amy often brought nice things from home to school to show them off, hoping her classmates would admire her. Recently, she thought about bringing a beautiful organizer to school again to show it off. But she changed her mind after thinking, “I can't show it again,” and, in that moment, she made the decision to control her impulse to try to impress people.

Amy said, “Before, I was selfish and would only think of myself. Now, I want to think of others.” Recently, her mother bought two lunchboxes, one with squirrels on it and the other with leaves. Both Amy and her sister liked the squirrel lunchbox, but when Amy saw that her sister liked it, she gave it to her. Seeing that Amy liked it, too, her sister gave the squirrel lunchbox back.

The Audience Was Deeply Touched

The cultivation experiences of the children, teachers, and parents moved the audience, and several of them shared their feelings after the conference.

Ms. Wang, who has been practicing for 27 years, believes that the Minghui School provides a good cultivation environment for both adults and children. She said, “This school helps the teachers and children to stay on the path of cultivation. It helps them to know how to cultivate and how to use the Fa as a guide for their lives.”

Ms. Pang, an educator for 30 years, believes that the teachers at the Minghui School not only fulfill their traditional duties of “instilling moral values, teaching, and solving problems,” but also improve themselves in the practice of Dafa.

Ms. Pang is happy that the children can practice Dafa. She said, “At such a young age, the children have learned to look inward and understand how to assimilate Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. This is so good for them.”

Serena was very happy to attend the conference. She said that listening to the young practitioners talk about their cultivation reminded her to pay attention to her own attachments. She mentioned, “They talked about meditation and exercise, and they could do each for an hour, which really encouraged me.”

Mr. Yuan remarked, “They were able to simply and frankly describe the difficulties they encountered in their lives and at school and then to talk about their own improvements in cultivation. This was inspiring to me and reminded me to reflect on myself and learn to communicate when I encounter problems at work.”

This was the second time that Izabela, a parent, had attended an experience-sharing conference at the Minghui School. She reflected on her children’s growth over the past year: “The Minghui School provides an excellent cultivation environment. They study the Fa and practice the exercises together, gaining a deeper understanding of Dafa. You can see from their exchanges that Master’s Fa principles help them to face and deal with difficulties better and to better understand the principles of being a human being.”

Masi said, “As I listened to the children, I realized that they could talk about how they look inward from the perspective of a practitioner, which is a good quality and one that is hard to find . At the same time, the teachers at the school encourage them to follow the teachings of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and remind them to be good both in school and in their daily lives. This emphasis on integrity and good behavior is truly valuable.”
