(Minghui.org) Every year from the end of July to the beginning of August, Gdańsk, a port city in northern Poland, holds a traditional three-week festival, Jarmark św. Dominika, first held 765 years ago. Thousands of merchants, artists, craftsmen and collectors participate in the festival, drawing visitors from both Poland and abroad, with a daily visitor flow of about 70,000 people. In addition to a wide range of shopping options, people can also experience culture, food and entertainment. Not only is the festival a major event for Gdańsk, it is one of the largest outdoor activities in Europe.

On July 26 and 27 and August 9 and 19, Falun Dafa practitioners set up a booth on Długa Street [Long Lane Square]. They handed out information and talked to people about the benefits of Falun Dafa, and also raised awareness of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) ongoing persecution of Dafa in China, including the regime’s illicit organ harvesting from prisoners of conscience. People not only stopped to sign the petition which condemns the forced organ harvesting, many were also very interested in the practice of Falun Dafa. Some purchased Falun Dafa’s main book Zhuan Falun, and quite a few festival-goers wanted to learn the exercises.

Purchasing Zhuan Falun

Justyna and her husband Marcin from Kielce bought a copy of Zhuan Falun and immediately went online to watch the video of Master Li teaching the Falun Dafa exercise movements. They chatted with a practitioner for a long time. Justyna said, “This is the first time I’ve heard about Falun Dafa. It is also the first time that I hear of how the CCP persecutes Falun Dafa in such cruel ways. The forced organ harvesting shocked me. Although the weather is so hot, I only feel cold and heartache and my tears keep falling. I am so sorry that we’ve only learned the truth now. We’re signing our names [on the petition] in support of Falun Dafa and hope that more people and more countries can stand up to seek justice for Falun Dafa.”

Marcin said, “We bought this book because we see that you all are so steadfast in your beliefs despite facing such bloody persecution. This power must have come from this book, so we strongly believe that it can help people like us, who are at a crossroads in our lives, to find the correct direction.”

Wioleta lives in Olsztyn and traveled to Gdańsk to enjoy the Jarmark św. Dominika festival. She stopped in front of the Falun Dafa petition table and read the different flyers in detail. After finding out about the CCP’s brutal persecution of Falun Dafa, she immediately signed the petition to the G7+7 [referring to the seven countries in the G7, and Argentina, Australia, India, Israel, Mexico, South Korea and Taiwan). Wioleta said, “I’ve always been interested in China’s traditional culture but I did not expect that a form of qigong would be subjected to such tragic persecution. Despite such persecution, Falun Dafa is practiced around the world. This is definitely worth looking into and this also shows that it is the best practice. I’ve read Zhuan Falun and the book has the answers to all the questions I had, especially the section “Zhen-Shan-Ren [Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance] is the Sole Criterion to Discern Good and Bad People.” This surprised me. I have always thought that everyone needs to change themselves from their inner self and I am so lucky to be able to buy this book. Thank you all!”

Kowalski, from the city of Lublin, was a flagman in the Navy. He and wife saw the Falun Dafa booth and stopped to chat with practitioners. Kowalski said he believes that on the sea or in life, one’s direction is always most important, especially not to sink into the deteriorating morals of today’s world. This has always been his wish. He read the display boards and flyers attentively and watched the exercise demonstration. He also listened to the practitioners’ explanation about the practice. When he flipped open Zhuan Falun, he said the first few sentences really attracted him. Not only did he immediately find it hard to let go of the book, he said he wanted to read the book as soon as possible.

The couple also said that they definitely opposed the CCP’s forced organ harvesting, and they both signed the G7+7 petition.

Feeling the Energy

The practitioners’ exercise demonstration drew many people to stop and watch. Some took videos and others took photos. Some people stood near practitioners, followed their movements and did the exercises with them. Many people came to the information booth to ask where they could find the videos and music for the exercises, hoping to learn Falun Dafa. The practitioners answered their questions and pointed out the website on the flyer where there are links to the different practice sites around Poland. People also left their contact information and some went online to watch Master Li’s exercise teaching video.

Agnieszka finished doing the third set of exercises while standing beside practitioners. She exclaimed, “I feel that this practice has very strong energy,” and it’s “simple to learn,” She said she hopes to find a practice site in her city. She took the flyer that has the website and practice site and listened attentively to the practitioner who talked about the spiritual practice to her. After listening to how the CCP harvests practitioners’ organs while they are still alive to gain huge profits from transplant surgeries, Ms. Agnieszka said, “I do not understand why such a good practice needs to suffer from such cruel persecution! Isn’t it good that everyone has a healthy mind and body?” Then she signed the petition and said, “I sincerely wish you all the best.”

People Understand the Truth

Krzysztof from Norway and his Polish friend were shocked by the CCP’s forced organ harvesting and signed the petition. He said, “This kind of persecution is appalling. If we turn a blind eye to it and tolerate such criminal acts, humankind will really have no way out.”

Ewa, who lives near Lodz, told a practitioner, “I have long heard of the CCP’s crimes of forced organ harvesting. How can the poor Chinese people endure such a Party’s rule? I hope that it collapses soon and the persecution of Falun Dafa ends soon too.” She wanted to tell practitioners in China, “I send you my most sincere wishes. Please hold on.” Ewa’s husband added, “We both signed the petition to support Falun Dafa.”

More than a thousand people signed the petition, including visitors from the United States, Canada, Germany, Italy, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. Everyone had the same wish: the CCP must stop the forced organ harvesting, a crime against humanity, and it must stop the persecution of Falun Dafa.

The Awakening of the Chinese People

Several Chinese people also spoke with practitioners. One woman, a business owner, said, “Since primary school I have been brainwashed by the CCP. That kind of brainwashing method is very intense. At that time, my family and I all believed the CCP’s lies. Even after we came to Poland we did not change our thinking for a very long time. It is only now, when we hear that people in China are missing due to forced organ harvesting, and this includes students, children, civil servants, army soldiers, policemen and even monks—that people start understanding the truth and know that Falun Dafa practitioners are being persecuted and the forced organ harvesting that they went through is true. It’s the CCP that is lying. This is too horrible. My entire family hopes this evil regime quickly collapses. Thank you for telling me about quitting the CCP. I hope that Falun Dafa can quickly return to China and bring peace to the Chinese people.”

A Chinese man stood in front of the petition table and said to a Chinese Falun Dafa practitioner, “Isn’t it a bad idea to do this? Don’t air your dirty laundry in public.” The practitioner asked him calmly, “What about the violence and murder in China? Shouldn’t we expose it so that more people won’t suffer? Shouldn’t we use legal sanctions to stop the persecution?” The man looked stunned and stood there for a long time. Then he left quietly.
