Additional Persecution News from China – August 11, 2025 (9 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 23 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

7. [Huichun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Junling’s Pension Suspended

9. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhou Yufen Held in Brainwashing Center

1. [Huaian City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhu Yunxia Persecuted Financially

Ms. Zhu Yunxia was sentenced to one year and fined 2,000 yuan on August 28, 2023, by the Lianshui County Court. She was released on March 14, 2024, after serving the term. On June 18, 2025, the court froze 9,000 yuan of her bank account without proper notification. It then transferred 3,000 yuan out the account before unfreezing it on July 4. Her family repeatedly called the court and complained that the 3,000 taken from her account was 1,000 yuan more than her fine. The court finally returned the 1,000 yuan to her account on August 7.

2. [Fuzhou City, Fujian Province] Ms. Wan Taoying Arrested

Ms. Wang Taoying was arrested in her apartment on August 5, 2025, by officers of the Cangshan District Domestic Security Division.

3. [Tianjin] Ms. Chen Zhimei Arrested

Ms. Chen Zhimei was arrested by Zhongbei Town Police Station officers in late July 2025.

4. [Shuozhou City, Shanxi Province] Three Practitioners Arrested, Two of Them Detained

Ms. Wang Xiaomei was arrested at home by officers from Shuocheng District Police Department and Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of July 23, 2025. Two practitioners who happened to be visiting her, Ms. Zhau Cuiying and Xie Jin, gender unknown, were also arrested. The police ransacked her place and seized her computers, printers, Falun Gong books, and other properties. Xie was released on July 8. Ms. Wang and Ms. Zhu are in criminal detention.

5. [Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province] Many Practitioners Arrested or Harassed

Ms. Liu Rongpei, Li Jianhui (40s, gender unknown), and Xiong Jinxing (gender unknown), were arrested in Ms. Liu’s apartment on the evening of July 21, 2025, by captain Wei Qiang of Zhuzhou City Domestic Security Division, director Chen Lei of the Jinshan Police Station, and a dozen other officers. Xiong was released the same day. Ms. Liu was released the next day. Li remains detained.

On the morning of July 22, 2025, Ms. Zeng Xiyin, 75, and Ms. Liu Baiying, 71, were harassed at home by Wei Qiang, Chen Lei, and a dozen other officers. The officers took samples of their blood against their will, ransacked the place, and seized their Falun Gong books, cell phones, computers, Falun Gong printouts, and other items.

Zhou Jiyuan and Zhou Xiling were harassed and had their homes ransacked on July 23, 2025.

Yi Dijun, gender unknown, was arrested and admitted to the local detention center on July 23, 2025.

Mr. Zhao Jian and Zhen Qiong, gender unknown, were harassed in June 2025 and have been forced to live away from home.

6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Chen Wenhua and Ms. Li Hongyan Arrested

Chen Wenhua, gender unknown, and Ms. Li Hongyan were arrested and taken to Xinguang Police Station on August 8, 2025. Both of them have been released.

7. [Huichun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Junling’s Pension Suspended

Ms. Zhang Junlin, 66, disabled due to the amputation of her calf, was sentenced to 1.5 years with a 2-year probation by the Longjing City Court on September 26, 2019. The judge initially allowed her to serve time outside of prison, but the police took her back into custody and admitted her to the Yanji Detention Center on June 9, 2021, and then to the Jilin Province Women’s Prison in early August 2021—in a wheelchair. After Ms. Zhang was released on November 23, 2022, the police harassed her regularly and got her pension suspended.

8. [Beijing] Ms. Wei Shuyun Arrested

Ms. Wei Shuyun of Miyun County was arrested at home in early July 2025. The police seized her Falun Gong books, an audio player, several memory cards, and an electric bike. She was interrogated at the police station for 20 hours. Not until she fainted did the police stop questioning her. She was released shortly after she came to.

9. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhou Yufen Held in Brainwashing Center

Ms. Zhou Yufen was arrested at home on April 23, 2025. She was held in a brainwashing center and released in late July 2025.
