Liaoning Woman Appeals 3-Year Prison Sentence for Practicing Falun Gong

(Minghui.org) A woman in Haicheng City, Liaoning Province is appealing a three-year prison sentence for her faith in Falun Gong.

Ms. Wang Xiuyu was arrested on March 6, 2025 by the Nantai Town Police Station officers. Without producing a search warrant, they raided her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, portrait of Falun Gong’s founder, printer, and other valuables. They returned in the afternoon for another raid.

The Lishan District Procuratorate in Anshan City issued a formal arrest warrant for Ms. Wang on March 18. Anshan oversees Haicheng City.

The Procuratorate received the case on April 10 and indicted Ms. Wang on May 8.

The Lishan District Court tried Ms. Wang on June 26. She learned of her three-year sentence on July 7. The Anshan City Intermediate Court received her appeal on July 28.

Ms. Wang is still held at the Anshan City First Women’s Detention Center.
