Canada: Rally and Parade Celebrate 450 Million Chinese People Quitting the CCP

(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners in Toronto held a rally in Clarence Square Park near Chinatown, on August 16, 2025, to congratulate the 450 million Chinese people who quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its youth organizations. They paid tribute to all those who bravely made this choice, and they called on all sectors of Canadian society to help stop the CCP’s transnational repression of Falun Dafa practitioners living in Canada. People from all walks of life spoke at the rally, expressing their support and appreciation for Falun Dafa practitioners’ peaceful protest, especially in helping the public understand the CCP’s true nature.

After the rally, practitioners held a one-hour parade in Chinatown. The people present were deeply moved, and many took photos and talked with practitioners. Many people signed a petition to express their support for practitioners, and even more Chinese people, after watching the parade and learning the truth of the CCP, declared that they quit the CCP.

The CCP’s Transnational Repression Is an Act of State Terrorist Organization

Mr. Jiang Fan calls on all sectors to help stop the CCP’s transnational repression.

Mr. Jiang Fan, head of the Canada Quit-the-CCP Service Center, was the first person in the world to publicly declare with his real name that he quit the Party after the publication of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. He delivered a speech at the rally: “We are standing here together to celebrate 450 million Chinese compatriots who bravely quit the CCP’s Party, Youth League, and Young Pioneers organizations. They have recognized the CCP’s evil nature and chosen a bright future.”

He pointed out that the CCP is conducting transnational repression of Falun Dafa in Canada and other countries. “The CCP launched public opinion warfare, legal warfare, information warfare, and unrestricted warfare and other terrorist methods, intending to block the truth, smear Falun Dafa, attack Shen Yun Performing Arts, The Epoch Times, and intimidate Canadian citizens. This is typical behavior of a state terrorist organization!” He called on the international community to expose and stop the CCP’s transnational repression.

Quitting the CCP Is the Greatest Self-Rescue Movement in Human History

Ms. Sheng Xue, vice-chair of the Canadian branch of the Federation for a Democratic China, first praised the quit-the-CCP (quitting the Party, Youth League, and Young Pioneers) movement initiated by Falun Dafa practitioners: “It is no exaggeration to say that [quitting the CCP] is the greatest self-rescue movement in human history.” She said the CCP made Chinese people lose kindness, justice, and human nature, and ultimately they became “Communist people,” while Falun Dafa practitioners gave the public a choice: to detach themselves from the autocratic, violent machine and become real human beings.

She said, “The quitting the CCP promoted by Falun Dafa practitioners is not only the redemption of human nature and a kind of self-rescue, but also has a profound impact on Chinese society, because quitting the CCP has formed a strong power to block the CCP from turning people into communists.”

She said, “Every one of us friends here is a hero saving people in this great self-rescue movement.” She also said that quitting the CCP is an adherence to Chinese and world civilization.”

She also said, “The CCP’s global infiltration and bribery—it controls media, controls politics, infiltrates elections, and exerts its influence throughout the world—makes our communities of freedom, democracy, human rights, and rule of law also deeply hijacked by it.”

She called on everyone to stand up and express take a stance: “We do not choose to sink into ashes together with the CCP’s evil tyranny, but choose to believe in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, choose to be good people, choose to be people with conscience, with a sense of justice, with courage, and with dignity.”

Mr. Jiang Jiaji, director and vice-chair of the Canadian branch of the Federation for a Democratic China, said, “More than 450 million Chinese people, with the help of Falun Dafa practitioners around the world, have recognized and quit the CCP. This is a very remarkable and boundlessly meritorious achievement.” He also said that tampering with history, concealing the truth, and spreading false ideas are the foundation for the CCP to stabilize its regime for a long time and hide its evil nature, while the media led by Falun Dafa practitioners such as The Epoch Times and New Tang Dynasty restored historical truth, helping more and more Chinese people recognize the CCP’s various evil deeds and its evil nature.

He said to the Falun Dafa practitioners at the rally, “You not only speak out for yourselves, but also speak out for all other religions, ethnic groups, and dissidents persecuted by the CCP, and also strive for freedom, democracy, and human rights for them. This is very selfless and remarkable. I pay my highest respects to every Falun Dafa practitioner who is not afraid of tyranny and thank you for upholding the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance!”

The Importance of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party

Mr. Liu Yan, current director of the Chinese Democracy Party Canada Committee, mentioned at the rally that the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party helped people understand the evil nature of the CCP. He said, “For decades, the CCP has used lies to deceive the people, used violence to suppress the people, and made Chinese society full of indignation. The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party revealed the truth and let people see clearly the CCP’s falsehood, evil, and violence.” He said the quit-the-CCP movement is like a great awakening of thought, not only a form, but also representing an inner choice of a person—I want to sever from the CCP, not sink with it, and also let the international community understand: the CCP is not equal to China.

He said, “I especially praise those media that dare to reveal the truth, especially media run by practitioners. It is exactly them, not fearing suppression, not fearing threats, who have exposed the CCP’s dark tyranny to the public. Heaven will eliminate the CCP, this is the inevitability of history; quitting the CCP for self-rescue is everyone’s choice. Let us join hands, for ourselves, for our families, for the future of the Chinese nation, to take the most important step—quit the CCP, Youth League, and Young Pioneers, and embrace rebirth!”

Resident: “The CCP Has No Right to Interfere with Canadians”

Audrey believes it is necessary to demand that the Canadian government resolve the threat of transnational repression.

Audrey is a retired French teacher. After learning about Falun Dafa and the CCP’s transnational repression, he signed the petition and said, “The CCP has no right to interfere with the normal life of Canadians.” He also said that he knows clearly that the CCP suppresses all religious groups in China.

After learning that Falun Dafa is a traditional cultivation practice, Audrey was very interested and said he would visit the Falun Dafa website to learn more. “I think everything that can improve society is beneficial to everyone.”

John said he knows the CCP is covertly setting up police stations in Canada to implement transnational repression.

John is a retired policeman. In his years of police work, he often came into contact with Falun Dafa practitioners, so he had some understanding of the persecution. He said, “For so many years, I have seen your rallies and also learned that Falun Dafa practitioners in China are persecuted by the CCP. What is worrying is that the CCP is secretly setting up police stations in Canada to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners in Canada.” He signed the petition, calling on the Canadian government to end the CCP’s transnational repression.

John praised the practitioners’ peaceful opposition to the persecution and it was, “Well organized, very peaceful, no loud noise, winning people’s appreciation and respect. This will effectively convey your message to the world.”

Legal Professional Hopes to End the Persecution as Soon as Possible

Emily plans to report the situation to the Member of Parliament in her district, hoping to end the persecution as soon as possible.

Emily is a legal assistant. Pointing to the flyer, she said, “I once saw some Falun Dafa practitioners meditating in the park. I think the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are very important to people.”

After learning that the CCP is persecuting the practitioners, and even conducting transnational repression in Canada, Emily said she was sad. She said, “I cannot accept that people would be persecuted because of their belief. The fact that such a thing can happen must be a mistake.” She plans to report this situation to the Member of Parliament in her district, hoping to end the persecution as soon as possible.

Immigrants: “We Are Supporters of Falun Dafa”

Agim and his wife Katie are from Albania. This was the first time they saw a Falun Dafa parade. Agim said that he previously talked many times with Falun Dafa practitioners. “The practitioners I talked to were all very good. Our conversations were also very pleasant. I was able to gain a lot of information, and it was a very good experience. I think Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance represent a kind of beauty, and anyone can benefit from it. If everyone could come into contact with Falun Dafa, that would be wonderful. We hope this group can continue to grow.”

Agim admired the practitioners’ ability to stand up against persecution. He said, “I applaud their [practitioners’] rally, I applaud their courage. We are supporters of Falun Dafa, because practitioners are facing a power like the CCP. To dare to point out the mistakes of the government, especially when the government threatens personal safety, and still stand up—this requires courage.”

Agim said he did research to learn about the CCP’s acts of transnational repression. He said, “The CCP’s agents are collecting information about Falun Dafa practitioners in Canada and threatening practitioners’ relatives in China. At the same time, some politicians are very cautious in speaking about issues of the CCP’s transnational repression. This phenomenon shows that the CCP’s infiltration overseas is already very serious.” He hopes to see the government take action to stop transnational repression.
