The Consequence of Violating the Principle of “No Second Cultivation Way”

(Minghui.org) Cultivation is very serious. We should believe in the Fa one hundred percent. This is not negotiable because whether we succeed in our cultivation or not depends on this.

I wanted to write about the importance of no second cultivation way last year but hesitated because some practitioners disagreed. Recently a practitioner brought it to my attention, so I felt it was time for me to finish this article because I needed to fulfill the last wish of a deceased practitioner. This sharing may also help practitioners walk well on their cultivation journey at the end of Fa rectification.

When Xiu passed away last year we felt this shouldn’t have happened, because she practiced diligently. When the persecution started, the local practitioners in charge of producing Falun Dafa informational materials were severely persecuted. We no longer had copies of Master’s new articles, Minghui Weekly or truth clarification materials. Xiu took the initiative to travel out of town to get these materials from other practitioners and always returned with hundreds of copies. She played a significant role in helping us keep up with the progress of Fa rectification.

Xiu was later arrested and tortured. She didn’t tell the persecutors the other practitioners’ names. She was put in a forced labor camp but refused to renounce her faith. After she was released she contacted the other practitioners and we worked together to expose the persecution. She helped many practitioners. Three articles she wrote about her cultivation experiences were accepted and published on Minghui.org to celebrate Falun Dafa Day.

We never imagined that a diligent practitioner like Xiu, who had a certain influence among practitioners, would be targeted by the old forces. When I reexamined the situation, one thing stood out – she was really into feng shui (a system of laws thought to govern spatial arrangement and orientation in relation to the flow of energy). She more than once reminded me that I shouldn’t build my restroom on the east side of my house because the east is a pure land and shouldn’t be contaminated by a restroom. I became convinced, and later rebuilt the restroom on the west side of my house.

Xiu decided to relocate her restroom to her courtyard. As soon as the construction was finished one of her relatives criticized the location and suggested she move it to the other side of her western fence. While the restroom was being rebuilt, she fell and broke her leg. The doctor she went to couldn’t relieve her terrible pain.

I went to visit Xiu and she told me what happened. She was still in a lot of pain and said, “I believed that the feng shui of the restroom was bad, just as my relative suggested. Because I wanted my family to live a better life, I rebuilt it. I made the mistake of practicing a second way. The old forces exploited this gap in my understanding of the Fa, and as a result I broke my leg. I made a mistake that I can’t amend.”

The other practitioners sent righteous thoughts for her every day. One morning a practitioner came to me looking worried. She said, “Xiu isn’t doing well. She can’t get up and can barely move. Her face was pale and she can’t open her eyes. Maybe you can pay her a visit.” Even though I reassured the practitioner and said Xiu would be fine, I wasn’t sure.

I went to see Xiu that afternoon. She was able to talk by then. She grabbed my hands and couldn’t stop crying, “We are very close and you’ve treated me well over the years. I will never forget that. You know how to write, please write an article about the mistake I made, and submit it to Minghui so that practitioners can learn from this and not make the same mistake I made. I am unworthy of Master and the Fa.”

It was so sad to hear this that I burst into tears. I comforted her, “You’ll recover and be fine. Master will help you.” She said, “This morning, I saw that my main soul left me. My dimensional field was dark. I knew that I wasn’t going to make it, and begged Master to save me. My main soul then returned. Master indeed helped me, otherwise I would have been dead by now.”

She passed away the next day. She was 59 years old, and was the youngest practitioner in our area.

A practitioner reminded me that Master is omnipotent and nothing compares to what he’s done for us. It’s true. We cultivate the universal Great Way and Master has pushed us to the top. In comparison, Feng shui is at a low level. We should cherish what Master gave us. We may not be given a second chance.
