(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Quebec, Canada, held a parade and rally on August 16, 2025 in downtown Montreal, to celebrate the 450 million Chinese who have withdrawn from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations. They called on people to see the CCP’s true nature and help end its persecution of Falun Gong. Many people thanked the practitioners for stepping forward and persevering in clarifying the truth. One person said, “I take my hat off to them. Please keep it up. Their presence is very important.” Another person said, “These people (Falun Gong practitioners) are warriors, the world needs more people like them.”
The parade was led by the Tian Guo Marching Band, followed by practitioners carrying banners, and proceeded along the busiest main roads in the downtown area—Sainte-Catherine Street and René-Lévesque Boulevard. The practitioners held a rally after arriving at Phillips Square.

When retired teacher Maria from Montreal learned that 450 million Chinese people had withdrawn from the CCP organizations, she said, “For a country, nothing could be worse than communism. Canada does not need communism. It should also disappear in China.”
She said that as a Canadian, what worries her is that the CCP has deeply infiltrated Canadian society, but most Canadians do not know this. She signed the petition against transnational repression, and said, “Many thanks to them [Falun Gong practitioners] for everything they do, letting people know what is happening, and how harmful communism is to a country.”
Sylvia from the U.S said, “I very much agree with the theme of the parade, these people [Falun Gong practitioners] are warriors. They have the courage to come out and protest. The world needs more people like this.” She said she lives in Boston and found that in the local Chinatown Chinese community, many people remain silent out of fear, not daring to speak out because of pressure from the communist regime. So today’s parade touched and surprised her. She said she believes that the parade’s message will spread to the whole world through videos and social media, and she hopes there will be a free China in the future.
A young Korean man, Hong, said that he had seen Falun Gong truth-clarification displays in other countries so he knew about the CCP’s forced organ harvesting. While studying in an immigration French class in Quebec, what impressed him deeply was that Chinese classmates had the most obvious disagreements with others on two issues. One was the Taiwan issue, and the other was Falun Gong. When he mentioned Falun Gong, some Chinese classmates told him there were CCP spies here, and also CCP police stations, so he should be careful when he spoke. He truly felt the fear in the hearts of the Chinese classmates, who dared not speak their thoughts, even in Canada. Hong raised the “Stop Transnational Repression” flyer in his hand and said, This is very good, I strongly support it. I hope these things can change.”
After listening to practitioners’ speeches Montreal resident Rejean said, “I applaud them, because this is very valuable. I cannot imagine hearing such speeches and not stopping to listen, to understand. Now I understand. I want to say to the Chinese people: You have a beautiful culture and thousands of years of history, but you absolutely should not have persecution. Such persecution must not be allowed to exist.”
He said that the 450 million Chinese people who have chosen to quit the CCP have the right to live according to their own wishes, and this is a basic human right. The CCP creates terror for its own interests and instills fear in people. The CCP’s infiltration also exists in Quebec, so everyone should stand up to condemn it. He expressed his respect for Falun Gong practitioners, “I take my hat off to them. Please keep it up. Their presence is very important.”
According to The Epoch Times website’s Global Tuidang (Quitting the CCP) Center page, the number of people declaring their withdrawals from the CCP and other communist organizations has surpassed 450 million, and continues to grow by tens of thousands every day.
Ms. Li, a Falun Gong practitioner in Montreal, said that many Chinese people are now very clear about the evil nature of the CCP, including people inside the public security, procuratorate, and court systems, who are awakening. She once dialed the phone of a man from northern China, and during the conversation she realized he was someone from within the system, most likely from the public security system, but she could sense that he still had a conscience so she told him that he must not participate in persecuting Falun Gong, and that he should protect Falun Gong practitioners, as this would accumulate blessings for himself and bring blessings to his descendants. In the end he understood. He quit the CCP and repeatedly urged Falun Gong practitioners to pay attention to their safety.
Ms. Li also said that now ordinary people want to learn about Falun Gong. When a Chinese woman walked out of the Chinese consulate she saw Falun Gong practitioners peacefully protesting, and said, “You must be organized, right?” She also said that in elementary school the children watched television programs that denounced Falun Gong. Ms. Li explained that those were CCP lies, and told her what Falun Gong is really about, and why the Communist Party persecutes Falun Gong.
The woman said, “I felt uncomfortable in China, and I wondered why we were forced to watch these programs every day. I didn’t understand what was going on. Ms. Li told her about the importance of quitting the Party, “This concerns the survival of life itself, as Heaven will settle accounts with the CCP.” The woman said she wanted to withdraw from the Communist Youth League and the Young Pioneers, and also wanted to help her husband withdraw. Ms. Li told her that quitting the Party requires personal consent, and that her husband could declare his withdrawal on The Epoch Times website. The woman said repeatedly, “Good, good, I will tell him as soon as I get home.”
