(Minghui.org) Minghui.org has reported extensively on the Hebei Province Women’s Prison’s abuse of Falun Gong practitioners jailed there for their faith. This article presents two more cases.
Ms. Lang Dongyue, a Beijing native, was arrested in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, on December 14, 2021, after she was forced to live away from home to avoid the persecution.
The police beat Ms. Lang so savagely that they broke her leg. It took her nearly two years to be able to walk normally. She was sentenced to nine years and fined 15,000-yuan around July 2023. She previously served five labor camp terms totaling 10 years.
Ms. Lang was held in Division 14 of the Hebei Province Women’s Prison for about 7 months before she was moved to Division 13, where she has been held for more than a year. An insider said that Ms. Li did not reveal any of her family’s contact information so as to not implicate them. Her family did not know anything about her imprisonment.
According to other practitioners who were previously held in Division 13, the guards there were extremely cruel and many practitioners were forced to renounce Falun Gong against their will in just a few days.
Ms. Zhao Baoli, of Chengde City, Hebei Province, was arrested on July 18, 2023, and sentenced to three years with a 10,000-yuan fine on March 7, 2024. She previously served an unknown prison term at the Hebei Province Women’s Prison and was beaten so badly her face became deformed.
Like Ms. Lang, Ms. Zhao was also first held at Division 14 before being moved to Division 13. Due to the communist regime’s censorship, there was no news about how she was doing. Given that the prison is notorious for torturing practitioners, she is likely subjected to various forms of abuse.
