Additional Persecution News from China – December 22, 2025 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Hanchuan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Tang Dongying Tried in Court

Ms. Tang Dongying, 75, was tried by the Xiaochang County Court on December 23, 2025. She was arrested at home on September 18, 2025, by officers from the Hanchuan City Domestic Security Division and the Chengguan Police Station. She is being held in the Yingcheng City Detention Center.

2. [Fuyuan City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Cao Chunyan Faces Indictment

Ms. Cao Chunyan was arrested by Fuyuan Domestic Security Division officers in March 2023, for distributing Falun Gong flyers. She was released on bail.

Her case was submitted to the Fujin City Procuratorate on October 15, 2025. The prosecutor interviewed her on November 11 and is now in the process of indicting her.

3. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Jianying Arrested

Ms. Zhang Jianying was arrested on December 21, 2025, after someone reported her for distributing Falun Gong flyers, and she was taken to the Xizhaotong Police Station. She refused to answer any questions and was transferred to the Shijiazhuang City Police Department. She did not cooperate, and was taken back to the police station. She was released later that day.

4. [Beijing] Mr. Liu Yaping Detained

Mr. Liu Yaping was released on December 17, 2025, after eight days of administrative detention.

5. [Jinyun County, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Zhou Xiaozhen Detained

Ms. Zhou Xiaozhen was arrested in early November 2025. She is being held in the Lishui City Detention Center.

6. [Qinglong County, Hebei Province] Mr. Chen Youtian Detained

Mr. Chen Youtian was arrested on November 20, 2025, and was held in the Qinhuangdao City Lockup. He has since been released.

7. [Tianjin] Ms. Yang Xiuying Missing

Ms. Yang Xiuying has been missing for over a month.

8. [Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Ying Xiuzhen and Ms. Wu Laidi Detained

Ms. Ying Xiuzhen was arrested on November 30, 2025, by officers from the Yandu District Domestic Security Division, the Zhangzhuang Police Station, and the Tinghu District Domestic Security Division. Her home was ransacked. She was held in Yandu Police Department Law Enforcement Case Center, before being released on December 1.

Ms. Wu Laidi was arrested at noon on December 1, 2025, by Zhangzhuang Police Station officers. They took her to the police station, and then to the Yandu Police Department Law Enforcement Case Center in the afternoon. She did not answer their questions. She was taken back to the police station on the afternoon of December 2, and then to a lockup at night. She was detained for seven days and released on December 9.

9. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Gou Xiaopin Deprived of Pension

Since August 21, 2018, Mr. Gou Xiaopin only received 41% of his pension (1,809.85 yuan of the full amount of 4,400 yuan), and it was never increased to compensate for inflation. The Liquan Social Security Bureau completely suspended his pension payments starting in October 2025, with the excuse that he refused to renounce Falun Gong.

10. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Eight Practitioners and a Family Member Detained

Ms. Gao Xiuhua was arrested on October 24, 2025, by officers from the Jinniushan Police Station. She is being held in the Yingkou City Detention Center. The Zhanqian District Procuratorate returned her case to the police station due to insufficient evidence.

Seven Dashiqiao City practitioners and a family member were arrested in November 2025, by Dashiqiao City Police Department officers. Mr. Zhang Yuzhen, his son Mr. Zhang Bo (who doesn’t practice Falun Gong), Mr. Wang Zhaomin, and Mr. Yang Qiang, are being held in the Dashiqiao City Detention Center. Ms. Gong Suyan, Ms. Li Xiuying, Ms. Xing Dongmei, and Ms. Xing Chun’e are being held in the Yingkou City Detention Center.

11. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zheng Xuejun and Ms. Yuan Yinying Sentenced

Ms. Zheng Xuejun was arrested on May 9, 2024, by officers from the Ronghua Police Station and the Dongsheng Police Station. Her home was ransacked. She was taken to the Jieyang City Detention Center. The Jiedong District Court heard her case on February 21, 2025, and sentenced her to 16 months in prison. She was released in September 2025, after finishing the prison term.

Ms. Yuan Yinying, 75, was arrested with Ms. Zheng and sentenced to five-and-a-half years in prison.
