(Minghui.org) A 60-year-old man in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province was savagely beaten by the police while detained for his faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
The beating left Mr. Huang Jinlin covered in bruises. He also suffered from incontinence, breathing difficulties, chest pain, dizziness, headaches, memory decline, and severe insomnia.
Mr. Huang was about to go to bed on the evening of September 16, 2026, when a group of officers from the Xinmin City Domestic Security Office and the Fahaniu Town Police Station broke in. They raided his place and arrested him without a search or arrest warrant.
The police took Mr. Huang to the Fahaniu Town Police Station for interrogation. They held him against the ground and handcuffed him behind his back. Several officers took turns beating him. They spread his legs apart, while stomping on his back and chest. They stomped on his chest so hard that he almost fainted. They also hit the back of his shoulders with a hard subject and hit his head against a glass cabinet and door frame.
Mr. Huang asked to use the restroom after the beating. He was in so much pain that he struggled to stand or even walk. When he tried to take a small step forward, the police accused him of trying to escape. They launched a second round of beatings. One officer struck his back with a baton with great force. He collapsed to the ground and soiled his pants.
Mr. Huang was later transferred to the Xinmin City Detention Center. The injuries on his wrists from the tight handcuffs are still healing, and the bruises on his inner thighs are still visible. He also experiences consistent chest pain and difficulty breathing. When he tries to take a deep breath, he coughs and experiences even more pain. The blows on his head have caused severe headaches and dizziness. His memory has declined, and he has trouble falling asleep at night.
Mr. Huang’s family is very worried about him. They have filed complaints against the officers. They also demand the authorities to release Mr. Huang immediately.
Mr. Huang, born in February 1966, used to lead a life of smoking, drinking, fighting, and gambling. After he took up Falun Gong in 1995, he quit his bad habits and regained his health. He started doing farm work and earning money to support his family. He once saw 3,000 yuan cash on the ground and waited there until the rightful owner returned. He said he’d have pocketed the money if he didn’t practice Falun Gong. Many locals commented that Falun Gong transformed him.
Not long after the persecution began in July 1999, Mr. Huang was arrested and held in the Xinmin City Lockup for 15 days. He went to Beijing in 2001 to appeal for his right to practice Falun Gong and was arrested. He was held at three detention facilities in Beijing for more than one month (seven days at the Miyun District Detention Center, over 10 days at the Dongcheng District Detention Center, and about another two weeks at the Tuanhe Repatriation Station), before he was given 16 months of forced labor.
While he was still held at the Dongcheng District Detention Center, the guards there inserted acupuncture needles into the accu-points on his legs before connecting the terminals to the needles. As the electric current flowed through his body, he let out heart-wrenching screams.
Mr. Huang was forced to do hard labor while he was held at the Tuanhe Repatriation Station and later at the Tuanhe Labor Camp.
