Greetings, compassionate and great Master!Greetings, fellow practitioners!

I have been practicing Falun Dafa for 29 years. Throughout various trials and tribulations, no matter how arduous or difficult things became, I have always maintained my faith in Master and Dafa. For the 23rd Minghui China Fa Conference, I am writing down some of my cultivation experiences to report to Master.

So Fortunate To Obtain Dafa

I am 73 years old this year. I’m originally from Shandong Province, but in 1978, I moved to northern China with my husband after he was discharged from the military and started a new job there. My husband worked on a drilling crew and was out in the field year-round, while I stayed home to care for our two children.

My daughter is three years older than my son. When I was busy with housework, feeling unwell, or in a bad mood, my daughter kept my son company and played with him. She acted just like a little adult, which made things so much easier for me and my husband.

Back then, I was in poor health. I am 1.6 meters (5 feet 2 inches) tall but weighed only 83 jin (110lb). I suffered from various ailments, including a duodenal ulcer, heart disease, and anemia. I was prone to fainting, so my family made me carry heart medication at all times.

I also had entity possession. Ever since I could remember, I was prone to attracting malevolent spirits. Tormented by both physical and spiritual ailments, my life was a living hell, and I was struggling to survive in utter despair.

In August 1996, a coworker brought me a book and said, “This book is truly remarkable—it is sacred and can benefit one’s health. Lots of people are reading it and learning Dafa’s teachings; you should, too.”

I replied, “Thanks! I’ll take it home and read it this evening.”

My celestial eye has been open since I was a child, so I can see things others cannot. After finishing dinner and tidying up the house, I took the precious book Zhuan Falun out to read. The falun (law wheel) emblem on the cover immediately caught my attention—how could it be moving? It was actually spinning!

When I saw Master’s picture, he looked at me with a kind and caring expression, and tears streamed down my face uncontrollably. As I read the book, the words seemed to take flight, soaring into my mind as if they had grown wings, and I finished reading it in one sitting. By the time I closed the book, it was after 5 a.m. the next day.

Although I had read all night, I didn’t feel the least bit tired or sleepy; on the contrary, I felt refreshed and alert. Most remarkably, the duodenal ulcer that had tormented me for years had vanished without a trace, and throughout the night, my stomach felt neither bloated nor painful.

Later that day, I told my coworker about my experience reading the book. She smiled and said, “You have a solid foundation and a predestined connection with Dafa. I’ll take you to a practice site after work.”

At the practice site, the volunteer instructor introduced Falun Gong to me in more detail. She said, “Falun Dafa is a supreme cultivation practice of the Buddha school. It is a mind-body practice and can heal illnesses, but it isn’t meant for that purpose—you shouldn’t practice it with this goal. If you’re serious about learning, please get a copy of Zhuan Falun and read it carefully. There are also five exercises, simple and easy to learn, that are remarkably effective for promoting health.”

The instructor then taught me the first exercise. As I watched her, I copied her movements, stretching and relaxing, and sensed a powerful energy in my body. It felt incredibly comfortable, and my heart was filled with joy. The instructor said, “Can you sit cross-legged?” I told her I could, and from that moment on, I was connected with Dafa and had a master.

As I continued to study the teachings and practice the exercises, my health improved by the day. In just two short months, Master purified my body, leaving me light, unburdened, and free of illness. Master also cleansed my home environment, removed attached entities, and blessed me with a happy and harmonious family.

Later, I went to the practice site every day, arriving early and leaving late, and I hung up a practice banner—which I still have in my collection today. After that, we formed a Fa-study group in my home, and fellow practitioners would come over to study the Fa and share insights. Within the group, we encouraged one another to study and cultivate diligently, look inward, and focus on improving our xinxing (mind nature), striving to be true disciples of Master.

Master Eliminated the Possessing Entity

When I was young, as soon as the sun went down, my mother would lock me in my room and not let me go out, because I was frail and prone to being possessed by malevolent spirits. This was especially true on holidays and other special occasions, when I was particularly susceptible to those entities.

Once possessed, I would feel a chill run through my whole body, shiver uncontrollably, and scream and cry nonstop. My mother would then have to find an occult healer, who would jump and leap around while burning paper and chanting incantations to drive out the evil spirits. Even after those entities were driven away, I would feel terrible for several days—worse than a serious illness.

On his way home for a visit from his military unit one time, my husband stopped to pay his respects to his late father, kneeling and kowtowing at his grave. The moment he entered our courtyard, I felt a chill run through my body and began to shiver; my face turned pale and ashen, and before long, I lost consciousness and passed out.

My husband quickly called for a traditional Chinese medicine doctor. The man took my pulse and said, “This isn’t good; I can’t feel a pulse. It might be some sort of spiritual ailment. Go find a shaman right away.” The shaman arrived and performed an exorcism ritual.

I don’t know how much time passed before I finally came to. When they saw me open my eyes, my family breathed a sigh of relief. Later, they told me I had been unconscious for a full day and night. The children had been so frightened they cried, and the whole household had been thrown into complete turmoil.

Other people urged my husband to invite a “house guardian spirit” into our home, claiming it would cure my illness and prevent further instances of spirit possession. My husband brought home a spirit tablet for this deity and began making offerings. Yet, despite his efforts, my condition did not improve, and the disturbances continued from time to time.

This situation continued to torment me, leaving me exhausted, causing unrest in our family, and making me feel ashamed. I couldn’t hold my head up in front of strangers or at work, afraid that others would look down on me. I was quick to anger and prone to outbursts; whenever I lost my temper at home, my family would be frightened and give in to me. At work, I was also uncompromising, and even my superiors didn’t dare cross me.

One day, less than half a month into my practice, I was returning home after doing the exercises when I saw a white, headless monster that looked like a fox at the entrance to the stairwell of my building. I was blocking the door so that I couldn’t get in. As I walked toward it, it swiped at me with its huge tail, and I called out, “Master Li Hongzhi! Master, please save me!” The moment I called out to Master, the monster disappeared.

I ran up the stairs, trembling with fear. When I reached the door to my third-floor apartment, that thing was crouching there again. I quickly cried out, “Master, save me!” Just then, I saw it turn into a small ball of fire and escape down the trash chute.

I hurried to Master’s portrait, knelt down, and kowtowed. All fear had vanished from my heart, leaving only gratitude. Though I had been trembling just moments before, I turned around, sat cross-legged on the bed, and began reading On Dafa aloud. The room was filled with peace and tranquility.

From then on, there were no more incidents of possession by spirits or anything like that. I became more courageous and was no longer afraid to be home alone. After our group Fa study, I would walk home by myself in the dark without the slightest bit of fear. My temperament also changed, and I began to speak in a gentler, kinder manner—to the point that my superiors remarked that I seemed like a completely different person.

My superiors and coworkers all know that I practice Falun Dafa. I often tell people around me how good Falun Dafa is, explaining that it has a remarkable effect on improving health and curing illnesses; as a result, several of them have also taken up the practice. Seeing the changes in me, my husband also began practicing.

Cultivating Forbearance

I work at the company cafeteria. One day at lunchtime, I was serving diners with two coworkers, a man and a woman. We get along quite well and talk about everything; we’re usually very open and relaxed, chatting freely while we clear the tables.

The woman began complaining that her husband was incompetent and “not much of a man.” I smiled and said, “How can you say that about your husband?” The male coworker standing nearby immediately flew into a rage—he assumed we were talking about him—and suddenly threw a stack of plates at me.

I ducked just in time, and the plates smashed against the wall, shattering into pieces. What was going on? Before I could even figure out what had happened, all the diners were staring at us in shock, thinking a huge fight was about to break out.

I reminded myself to follow Master’s teachings: I must not lose my temper, nor strike back. I held myself in check and kept my composure. With a smile, I apologized to him: “Brother, I’m sorry I upset you. Please forgive me.” Hearing this, he blushed and immediately said, “I’m sorry. I’m the one who wronged you. I don’t know where that sudden burst of anger came from just now; I shouldn’t have snapped at you.” Everyone looked stunned and bewildered by what had just happened.

Many people know that I practice Falun Dafa and that it teaches people to be good and do good deeds, but they never imagined I would change so quickly—that I’ve truly learned the practice and become a better person. I could see approval in everyone’s eyes. I am grateful to Master for transforming me. My husband works at the same organization as I do and was also incredibly happy to see all the positive changes.

Going to Beijing Many Times to Stand Up for Dafa

In 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Dafa. Having benefited both physically and mentally from practicing it, a thought arose in my heart: to speak up for Master and clear his name. On July 20, many fellow practitioners in our area set out for the provincial capital, and I was one of them.

I took a taxi to the area near the Provincial Government’s Petition Office, but had to get out some distance away. Falun Dafa practitioners lined the streets, and many police officers stood guard. The police wouldn’t let petitioners enter the compound, so I silently asked Master to strengthen me. I thought, “Let the police not see me,” and walked inside.

When I reached the entrance to the Petition Office, I saw that the room was already packed with people—there was simply no way to squeeze in. Fellow practitioners were all speaking up, sharing the true situation regarding Falun Dafa. At that moment, I shouted, “Clear Master Li’s name!” I stood there for a while and then left.

After I went outside, I saw many fellow practitioners being dragged by police onto large buses and taken away. As one bus departed, another arrived; I had no idea where they were being taken. Two practitioners near me were quietly discussing going to Beijing to stand up for Dafa, so I joined them, and we set off for Beijing. We took a train that departed at 6 p.m., and during our conversation on the train, I learned that they were from Yanbian.

It was already past 6 a.m. when we arrived in Beijing. After exiting the Beijing Railway Station, we headed straight for Tiananmen Square. The square was filled with Falun Dafa practitioners from all over the country—some meditating, some doing the standing exercises, and some holding banners.

I took out my banner, and raised it above my head with both hands to validate the Fa. As the crowd grew larger, plainclothes officers and police began illegally arresting people. I asked Master to protect me, thinking, “Don’t let them see me.” I blended in with the tourists, left Tiananmen Square, bought a bus ticket, and returned home.

On New Year’s Day in 2000, a fellow practitioner and I took a taxi from our local area to Changchun, where we purchased train tickets. We arrived in Beijing a little after 6 a.m. and headed straight to Tiananmen Square. We found many fellow practitioners there practicing the exercises, so we joined them; once we finished, we returned to our local area.

In February 2001, I went to Changchun Railway Station by myself and bought two train tickets—one to Beijing and the other for the return journey. While waiting at the station, I ran into two fellow practitioners from my area. From some distance away, they called out to me, “Big sister! Big sister!” I saw that police officers were holding both of them. Realizing we knew each other, the police took us all into the station, asked where we were from, and recorded our statements.

Before long, the local police brought us back and placed us directly into the city detention center. While in there, I continued to meditate and recite On Dafa. The police demanded that I write and sign a guarantee statement to give up my practice, but I steadfastly refused to cooperate. After I was detained for 14 days, my family came and took me home.

Three days later, officers from the olice station came to my home and took me to the station. They pressured me to sign a guarantee statement promising that I would stop practicing Falun Dafa and would not go to Beijing to appeal. I flatly refused to sign or provide any such guarantee. They said, “If you don’t sign it, don’t even think about going home.”

I replied, “If you want a guarantee from me, the only one I can give is that I will continue to believe in Master Li.” Then the police brought in my family members to try and persuade me to sign, but I did not listen to them, either—I simply would not do it.

The police would not let me go home without writing a guarantee statement. For three days straight, I refused. Seeing that I was completely unyielding, the police told my family, “Write us a guarantee promising to keep an eye on her so that she won’t go to Beijing, and then you can take her home and watch over her there.” My family wrote the statement, promising to make sure I didn’t go to Beijing, and only then did the police let me go.

As I reached the exit, I heard a voice say sarcastically, “You still want to attain Buddhahood? Even Tang Seng had to endure 81 tribulations—not a single one could be skipped.” I turned back and asked, “What did you say?” The voice answered, “You’ve already signed a guarantee statement. How could you possibly attain Buddhahood now?”

I immediately became alert. Wasn’t this Master giving me a hint? My family had written the guarantee statement, but I hadn’t objected—I had tacitly accepted it. Didn’t that effectively mean I had written it myself? That simply wouldn’t do.

I hurried back into the room and tore up the “guarantee” still lying on the table. The police director rushed to try and stop me. My family members also pulled me back, apologizing to him as they dragged me out. The director shouted angrily, “Get her out of here!” I was glad I didn’t yield.

They have left me alone ever since, even during the “Knocking-on-doors” and “Zero-out” campaigns. When I filed my criminal lawsuit against Jiang Zemin, I used my real name and national ID number and sent the documents via the postal service. No one has ever come to my home to harass me.

Clarifying the Truth and Helping to Save People

After the CCP began persecuting Dafa, we lost our environment for group Fa-study and exercises, and our practice shifted from self-cultivation to Fa-rectification cultivation. Initially, the truth-clarification materials in our area all came from elsewhere, primarily the provincial capital.

Once, a large box containing truth-clarification banners, adhesive posters, and booklets arrived at my home. I thought to myself, “Everything is difficult at first, but someone has to do it, someone has to take the lead. Since this has arrived at my doorstep, it is up to me to take it on, this is my responsibility.”

I would go out after dinner and on weekends to distribute and post truth-clarification materials, but even after several days, there were still plenty left. My husband (a fellow practitioner) had already retired and was at home at the time, so he offered to help, and our whole family pitched in.

My husband has a motorcycle, so he took me to the farther suburbs and rural areas to reach the people there. The guardrails, trees, and utility poles along both sides of the highway were ideal spots to hang truth-clarification materials. The two of us worked together, one of us stretching the material while the other pulled it taut. We accomplished a lot on each trip, and sometimes we didn’t get home until very late.

Other practitioners gradually stepped forward to clarify the truth and help save sentient beings. We established local production sites for truth-clarification materials and created our own brochures, stickers, banners, and desk and wall calendars. We also printed truth-clarification messages on currency bills.

Everyone became involved in clarifying the truth, opposing the persecution, and helping to save sentient beings as part of their cultivation during the Fa-rectification period.

As my husband and I were headed home from the countryside late one evening after distributing informational materials (we usually left around 7 or 8 p.m. and returned around 11 or 12 p.m.), the police stopped us just as we got onto the highway. “It’s so late,” they said. “Where are you going?” My husband replied, “We’re going to a relative’s house.” The police separated us to question us, but we felt completely at ease and weren’t afraid at all.

The officer asked me, “What is the name of this village? What is the name of the relative you are visiting?” I answered immediately, without a moment’s hesitation. Seeing how readily I responded, they let us go.

On the way home, I said to my husband, “What did the police ask you?” He replied, “They asked for the name of the village and whose home we were visiting. I just gave them a random name—I told them Xiao Liu’s place.” I was stunned—that was the exact same answer I had given! It was truly remarkable! We both realized Master had guided us to say that; it was Master protecting his disciples.

On another occasion, my husband and I went to a village in the evening to distribute informational materials. The village was brightly lit; streetlights were on both sides of the roads, making it as bright as day.

I asked Master: “May the lights dim wherever we walk, so that our efforts to save people are not hindered.” No sooner had I thought this than the lights began to flicker. My husband, who was walking ahead, asked, “Why are the lights flickering like this?”

I replied, “It’s Master helping us! Don’t worry, just go ahead with what you need to do.” My husband and I successfully distributed all the materials and returned home safely.

For over 20 years, my husband and I have consistently spent our mornings going out to clarify the truth to people face-to-face, and our afternoons studying the Fa teachings. Rain or shine, we have kept this up to this very day.

We have traversed every street and alley in the city, visiting morning markets, shopping malls, and supermarkets. On any given day, we might persuade three to five people, or sometimes as many as 20 or 30, to renounce the CCP and its affiliated organizations.

Even during the COVID pandemic, we continued. When our residential compound was locked down, we simply climbed over the wall—over a meter high—so easily that you would never guess we were in our 60s and 70s.

When sharing the truth, we encounter all kinds of people. I once spoke a man in his 40s who seemed to be waiting for someone. I asked, “Young man, are you a Party member?” He sized me up and said, “Come with me. I’ll take you somewhere.” I realized he was an undercover officer and that I needed to get rid of him as quickly as possible.

Just then, someone came over and started to talk to him. While they were distracted, I quickly slipped away. It was a close call, but I got away safely.

Sometimes we come across good people. At the morning market, I once ran into a uniformed police officer. He looked approachable, and I could tell he was kind. I went up to him and said, “Hello. Are you here to buy groceries?” He replied, “I’m off today, so I came to get some vegetables.” I said, “You guys are so busy every day, keeping the neighborhood safe. I can tell you’re a kind person, so let me share a piece of wisdom with you—it could save your life when disaster strikes.”

He glanced at me, signaled for me to stop, and pointed toward someone nearby, saying, “That’s a colleague of mine. He’s the one in charge of handling these matters.” I whispered to him, “Good people deserve to be rewarded. Since you’re a good person, why not quit the Party and its affiliated organizations? It would be good for you and your family.” Seeing my sincerity, he said, “Alright, go ahead and do it for me.” I gave him a pseudonym and helped him complete the withdrawal.

One winter evening, my husband and I went out to post truth-clarification stickers when we saw a billboard by the road, a great spot for stickers. I jumped off the motorcycle and headed straight over, not paying attention to where I was stepping, and with a “thud,” I fell into a hole. It felt as if my feet had landed on a red-hot iron plate. I yelled, “Ouch!” and jumped right back out.

My husband hurried over to check on me and said, “Are you hurt?” I told him I wasn’t, and then we both looked down into the hole. There was a heating valve, with water hissing out of the hot pipes. If I’d stayed in that scalding hot water for even a few seconds, my skin would certainly have been burned.

I don’t know where I found the energy, but I just leaped out of there—it was unbelievable. We realized that Master had protected me. Tears welled up in my eyes, and I pressed my palms together, repeating over and over, “Thank you, Master! Thank you, Master!”

After putting up the stickers, we went to several other places. When we finished, we went home. When I changed clothes, my pants were frozen stiff, and it was a struggle to pull them down, but my skin was intact thanks to Master’s protection.

More and more people are coming to understand the truth these days. One day, as I boarded a bus, someone called out, “Sister, come sit over here!” I sat near the lady, and she handed me a flatbread to eat.

I did not recognize her at first. She said, “You meet so many people that you’ve probably forgotten me. Last year at the morning market, you told me the facts and helped me withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. Ever since then, my health has steadily improved, and I’m no longer weighed down by a heavy heart. I’ve always hoped for a chance to thank you—you’re such a kind person—and now, here we are, bumping into each other!”

I replied, “There’s no need to thank me; it’s Dafa’s Master Li who tells us to do this. He is compassionate and doesn’t want a single good person to be left behind, so we go out every day to help save people. As long as you’re doing well, that’s all that matters.”

Clarifying the truth and saving people is a Dafa disciple’s responsibility, it is our mission. As long as the Fa-rectification has not concluded, I will continue to go out every single day.

My Family Is Blessed

Since I began practicing Falun Dafa, I have experienced profound changes in both body and mind. My family has witnessed these transformations, and they are all genuinely grateful to Master and to Dafa! They also support my efforts to clarify the truth and save people. Whenever I am overwhelmed with tasks, they even pitch in to help without any complaint or resentment.

After graduating from university, my son was assigned to work at an oilfield drilling company. During his one-year internship, he did exceptionally well and earned high praise from his superiors. In his second year, he became a permanent employee and took on the role of engineering technician. He later served as a team leader and mid-level manager, and today he is a company manager.

After my son started working, he saw how busy I was every day, so he began spending his evenings going out with me to distribute and post truth-clarifying materials.

Because he holds a leadership position where he works, whenever the communist regime issued information regarding the persecution of Dafa practitioners, he would immediately alert us—or drive home to pick us up, along with our Dafa books, and take us to a safe location, thus protecting both us and the Dafa books.

Despite the CCP’s persecution, we have managed to avoid numerous instances of harassment and persecution. For many years, the Fa-study group at my home has remained undisturbed, and fellow practitioners feel both safe and at ease when they come to my place.

My daughter is a head nurse at a hospital. Although she does not practice herself, she has great faith in Dafa. She often tells her own children, “You must show respect to the elderly people who practice Falun Dafa. They are all good people. Do not listen to anyone who says bad things about Falun Dafa.”

After the CCP began to persecute Falun Dafa in July 1999, my daughter brought Master’s portrait from my home to hers, where she has kept it respectfully displayed ever since. On holidays and festivals, she offers incense and fruit to Master.

She has been blessed in return. Her superiors at work value her highly, and she gets along very well with her colleagues. She also passed the exam for the professional title of “Nurse-in-Charge” on her very first attempt.

A few years ago, while my daughter was caring for a patient in the hospital, the patient said, “Young lady, you’re so kind and treat people so well—you’re truly blessed. There must be a great Buddha in your home protecting your whole family.”
