Taiwan Fahui | I Pulled Through a Major Tribulation Under Master’s Protection

(Minghui.org)

Greetings, revered Master! Greetings, fellow practitioners!

Thanks to Master’s compassionate protection, my family came through an enormous tribulation, and we are now enjoying a happy life. I would like to report to Master and fellow practitioners about some of my cultivation experiences during that time.

A Sudden Terrible Ordeal

Early one morning, about three and a half years ago, I started bleeding heavily. I was six months pregnant at the time. Terrified and trembling with fear that our baby might be in danger, I decided to immediately go to the hospital with my husband.

The attending doctor was concerned I might have suffered a placental abruption and arranged for me to be admitted for further observation. I spent the whole day listening to Master’s Fa teachings. The next morning, the doctor said to stay for another day, and that I should be able to go home afterwards if everything was fine.

With the fetal heart rate monitor attached to my abdomen, I felt I could do with some rest. Just then, a nurse came and said my belly looked swollen, and she wanted to insert a catheter to drain my bladder. I agreed with her suggestion.

I didn’t expect the procedure to be so painful and couldn’t help pushing, which seemed to affect the pregnancy. The evil old forces pushed a thought into my mind: the baby might die in my womb.

While I was trying to send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil interference, a group of doctors rushed in, saying the baby was in grave danger; they had already notified the doctor in charge and decided to perform an emergency Caesarean section.

My husband and I were not prepared for this sudden turn of events. Fortunately, as I had been listening to Master’s Fa teachings, I held strong righteous thoughts in that moment. I said to my husband before I was sent to the operating room, “Don’t worry, Master is right beside us.”

Before I lost consciousness from the anesthesia, I kept reciting this line from Master’s teachings: “...“I’m Li Hongzhi’s disciple, I don’t want other arrangements or acknowledge them”...” (“Teachings Given on Lantern Festival Day, 2003”)

Generally speaking, babies born between 37 and 42 weeks of gestation are considered full-term. However, my baby was born at just 27 weeks and four days. Weighing only 1,157 grams, she was unable to breathe independently and had to be resuscitated and intubated.

Seeing my tiny baby with various tubes attached to her body, and needing to have mucus suctioned from her airways, my heart ached, and tears streamed down my face.

My husband and I kept sending forth righteous thoughts. We also recited “Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” and some Fa teachings to our tiny baby girl.

Strengthening Righteous Thoughts Through Listening to Minghui Radio

For the first few days after the C-section, I thought everything that happened was good for our xinxing improvement, but after a while I became consumed by sadness and guilt, thinking how I might have done things differently to have a normal full-term birth. Even though I kept telling myself not to feel so sad, I couldn’t stop crying.

One day, I asked my husband, “Why would such a thing happen to us practitioners?”

He said, “Everything worked out okay. Without Master’s protection, we might have already lost our baby. Don’t worry, she was just born a bit early.”

I was touched by my husband’s righteous thoughts and recalled Master’s recent teaching:

“And when you can’t overcome them, some of you begin to resent Dafa, or even me. But all of these things happen because of issues on your part. Your Teacher owes you nothing. While saving you, your Teacher is also bearing sins and karma for you, and is trying everything to offset them. The fact is you owe your Teacher.” (“Stay Out of Danger”)

Indeed, how could I not be grateful to Master, but instead doubt Dafa and Master? This was a dangerous mindset!

I began to listen to podcasts on the Minghui Radio program called “Remembering Master’s Grace” and sharings about how people broke through the illusion of sickness karma.

One sharing left a deep impression on me when a practitioner talked about how it took five months to dig out his attachments while his skin was unbearably itchy, making him extremely uncomfortable. I was inspired by his perseverance.

Reflecting upon my own situation, I realized I had not looked within for a long time, and even when I did so, I could only see the same old few attachments. While listening to the podcasts, I learned how to truly look inward from fellow practitioners’ sharings.

During that time, I always felt sleepy when studying the Fa, and found it hard to keep my palm upright while sending forth righteous thoughts. I became worried and tried to find the root cause. I realized the reason I wanted to study the Fa was to avoid persecution by the old forces and get protection from Master, which was the attachment of pursuit.

I recalled the early days after I obtained the Fa. I was so happy to study the Fa at that time, always with such great joy. But in recent years, I had been doing the three things with the selfish intention of receiving protection from Master.

Digging deeper, I also saw attachments to jealousy, resentment, and a big hurdle I still hadn’t overcome—I had engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct with a man after I started practicing.

Even though I had apologized to Master and fellow practitioners at my practice site, I still felt deep regret over this and blamed myself, thinking I wasn’t worthy of Master’s salvation and Master wouldn’t want a disciple like me. This thought had a strong negative impact on my sending forth righteous thoughts, which felt like a barrier between me and Master.

While digging out these deep-rooted attachments, I realized that they were imposed upon me by the old forces. I came to the human world with Master, and I should only follow Master, not anyone else! With this enlightenment, all of a sudden, I sensed Master’s compassion easing the remorse deep in my heart and bringing redemption to my soul. Tears kept rolling down my face as I looked at Master’s portrait.

The Wonderfulness of Solid Cultivation

My daughter’s premature birth left me emotionally fragile. While at home on my own, the weight of human sentiments was almost suffocating, and I felt deeply saddened whenever I looked at the empty cot we had prepared for our baby.

How I wished I had a remote control to make time go faster, so this crisis would be in the past. Then I realized this thought revealed I didn’t want to deal with any hardship. The suffering and setbacks that fellow practitioners on Minghui.org shared were much worse than what I was experiencing. If other practitioners could pull through, what I was going through was nothing in comparison!

My husband’s company offered staff a training opportunity, and he was keen to go, which meant being away from home for five days. At first, I asked him to come home every day and keep me company, but he wasn’t keen to commute the long distance. I felt hurt and that he did not care about me.

Then I realized sentimentality was interfering with me. I made up my mind to consider others first, and to cultivate my xinxing by treating my husband with kindness and understanding. After I rectified myself in this way, the five days without my husband at home were not nearly as difficult as I had imagined.

My Baby Daughter Comes Home

We prepared a mini-audio player with the Pudu and Jishi music, and asked the nurse to play it for our daughter in the hospital. Her condition kept improving, and the nurse often said, “Your daughter sleeps very well, and her weight is also increasing fast.”

My daughter was in hospital for five months. Before she was discharged, doctors told us she needed to go home with a ventilator, and they also arranged tests to find a suitable machine. Initially, the results were not very encouraging.

I was very anxious to bring my baby girl home, but the more I felt this way, the longer it took. Later, I let go of my anxiety, thinking: “Everything is arranged by Master. I should cherish this opportunity and time to cultivate my xinxing.”

During that time, my husband and I would study the Fa for an hour in the evening, then send forth righteous thoughts for another hour. Afterwards, we would recite “Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” for 10 minutes.

To our great delight, each time we went to see our daughter in hospital, we could see significant improvements. Soon, she was ready to come home.

She was still connected to various tubes and medical devices, including a ventilator, a nasogastric tube, and a blood oxygen monitor. I didn’t know how to handle all those things at first, and was at a loss as to how to care for such a tiny baby.

As time went on, I felt more at ease, and played Master’s Fa teachings to her. When we took her to the hospital for checkups, each time, doctors said: “Your daughter is doing very well. She doesn’t look like a 27-week premature baby at all.”

When she was very little, we read poems from Hong Yin to her, and she could even recite them as she grew a little older. She also liked listening to the song “The Sacred King of Falun.” When she was two years and 10 months old, I took her to our Fa study group. She picked up a microphone and sang the song for us.

When she was three years and three months old, we took her to an early intervention center for an assessment, which showed her language skills were at the level of a child aged five and a half. I believe Dafa opened her wisdom.

However, over the past year or so, she has become very strong-willed. Whenever things didn’t go her way, she would burst into tears, throw tantrums, and stubbornly refuse to give in, which made me furious. Later, I realized my own impatience, desire for control, and competitive mentality were at play.

Master said in Zhuan Falun,

“Some people will lose their temper in disciplining children and yell at them, making quite a scene. You should not be that way in disciplining children, and neither should you, yourselves get really upset. You should educate children with reason so that you can really teach them well. If you cannot even get over a trifle and lose your temper easily, how can you expect to increase your gong?” (Lecture Nine, Zhuan Falun)

Master helped me find many of my attachments and bad thoughts through my daughter. I’m determined to let go of them all through solid cultivation.

Clarifying the Truth to Wives From Mainland China

Since our daughter came home, I’ve gotten to know a totally different group of people in Taiwan, including many mothers and grandmothers from mainland China. This was challenging as I didn’t like socializing with strangers. Still, I remembered my mission to assist Master in saving sentient beings.

At first, I was a bit rushed when I clarified the truth to two mothers from mainland China. Even though they had heard about the state-sanctioned organ harvesting, they both refused to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations. I felt frustrated and became reluctant to clarify the truth to mainlanders married to Taiwanese men.

Master said,

“… So think about it: could there be things that aren’t well-ordered? If you could see things for what they are, you would discover that, in your cultivation, whatever setting you are in, whatever social class you’re a part of, whatever status you have, whatever “coincidental” things you have done, or whatever your “luck” may be—all of this which is part of your path—was brought about by your vow, and nothing is by chance...” (“Fa Teaching Given at the 2014 San Francisco Fa Conference,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. XIII)

I began to understand that I must have made a vow to help save them at the very beginning.

I made friends with a mainland wife, and for a while we went to a parent-child center together almost every week. She was keen to share her experiences looking after her child, and I was very happy to listen. As time went on, I noticed she was deeply brainwashed by the CCP’s propaganda, but I found it hard to clarify the truth to her, which made me feel very guilty.

One day, her daughter pointed at the small lotus flower charm on my daughter’s stroller and said, “Mom, what’s that?” Her mom took a close look and then looked at me in surprise.

I said, “Yes, I’m a Falun Gong practitioner.” She brought up the negative reports in China. When I told her the so-called “Tiananmen Square self- immolation” was a hoax, she cut me short and said emotionally, “Stop! You cannot convince me, nor can I convince you.”

I thought about my approach and decided if I kept talking to her this way, she might not be able to take it. She might think I had been hiding my practice from her all this time.

So I said, “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to keep it a secret that I’m a Falun Gong practitioner. I just didn’t know how to explain this to you.” Sensing my sincerity, she calmed down. Later, we still kept in touch as usual.

Recently, both our daughters started kindergarten. One day, I suggested we meet at a café. Before I left home, I asked Master to strengthen my righteous thoughts so I could help save her.

She shared a lot of useful experience about raising her child, and I listened attentively. I also sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate any evil interference behind her. Then I took out some truth-clarification materials and said, “Look, these are about a large-scale character formation event, attended by about 5,000-6,000 practitioners every year. Falun Gong has spread to over 100 countries and regions, and there were no self-immolation incidents there. You’re a smart lady; you will see it was a hoax fabricated by the CCP after reading these.”

She didn’t react like before, so I plucked up my courage and told her about the Quit CCP movement, saying I often prayed for her at night, hoping she would be safe with a bright future. To my great surprise, she agreed to quit the CCP organizations without hesitation.

Master told us,

“… Just do whatever you should with compassion, regardless of whether they’re receptive or not...” (“Fa Teaching Given at the 2003 Washington, D.C. Fa Conference,” Collected Teachings Given Around the World, Vol. IV)

On my way home, I felt deeply grateful to Master. One and a half years had passed from when we met to her agreeing to quit the CCP. During this time, I often felt under pressure, and sometimes even wanted to give up on her. But each time, Master reminded me that every person is an extraordinary being from high-level dimensions, and I mustn’t give up on them.

I also realized the reason I failed earlier was that I wanted to achieve quick results, and my mindset was self-serving. As I continued to let go of my selfish attachments and do things purely for the benefit of sentient beings, the results were totally different.

Conclusion

Reflecting on my fear and anxiety after the C-section, without Master’s compassionate protection to ensure my daughter could come to this world and grow up healthy, many of our relatives, colleagues, and friends would have held negative views about Falun Gong, which would have made it more difficult for them to be saved.

My daughter is now very healthy. She is bright, lively, and a delight to everyone around her. Master arranged for me to become a mother, which offered me more opportunities to cultivate and improve my xinxing. As a mother, I also have more opportunities to get to know sentient beings with a predestined connection. I will continue to clarify the truth to help save more sentient beings, and to be worthy of Master’s compassionate salvation.

The above are some of my cultivation experiences. Please kindly point out anything improper in my sharing.

Thank you, Master!

Thank you, fellow practitioners!
