(Minghui.org) In the summer of 1995, with dreams in my heart and a backpack on my shoulders, I walked into a school in a mountain village on the shores of a lake and became a Chinese language teacher. It was right there, with its blue sky and crystal-clear waters, that my dream of teaching and my connection with Dafa began. And it was there, that a group of young teachers started practicing Falun Dafa.
I graduated from college at the age of 22, and was assigned a teaching job in the summer of 1995.
I was initially admitted to the college through a targeted recruitment program, which required me to return to a rural area in the county to work after graduation. However, a close relative wanted me to remain near the family and work in the city. So they pulled some strings and had my work assignment certificate slipped into the pile of the certificates for non-targeted assignments to be stamped, allowing me to stay in the city. But the attempt was detected twice, and the person in charge of stamping dared not to try again.
After my relative told me what had happened, I said, “Man proposes, God disposes.” My work assignment certificate was sent back to the county shortly after, and a series of twists and turns followed.
I had planned to teach at the school where my former homeroom teacher worked, but halfway through the process, she was transferred to the county town. I had no choice but to look for another school. My father’s classmate was the principal of a school, and a Chinese language teacher there was transferred elsewhere, leaving a vacancy. I was fortunate to fill the position at that school. By the time I arrived, my former homeroom teacher wasn’t transferred to the county town after all. It was as if an invisible thread was guiding and arranging everything, leading me to the place I was meant to be.
Looking back now, I realize it was Master’s arrangement! It was at this school, nestled amidst picturesque mountains and clear waters, that I found a sacred connection with Falun Dafa.
Several colleagues came across a brief introduction to Falun Dafa in an issue of Qigong and Medicine magazine. The practice encouraged people to follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to improve themselves. And these colleagues became practitioners.
A colleague knew that I liked to read, and he recommended Zhuan Falun. I was overjoyed! I had often pondered during my college years about why we live and the meaning of life. I had read many philosophical books and literary works. They would stir my emotions for a few days, but I was often left in a state of confusion afterwards. Zhuan Falun explained the highest truths in the simplest language. It was as if a veil had been lifted—oh, so this is how we should live, and this is why we live, and we should continuously elevate our spiritual realm and return to our original wondrous homes!
The colleague who recommended Zhuan Falun to me became my husband, and we formed a beautiful connection.
In May 1996 we were married, and visited my parents in June. I brought a copy of Zhuan Falun for my father. He had always been open to the idea of cultivation. He finished reading the book in three days and has been practicing ever since.
Although my mother was illiterate, she was inspired by my father, and began to listen to Master’s lecture recordings and learn the exercises. My mother had miscarried twin babies, and had chronic health issues as a result. She was in constant pain and could hardly get out of bed. She wore a thick hat and cotton clothes in the summer, and felt dizzy when there was a change of weather. After a few weeks of doing the exercises, the pain and dizziness were gone and she could wear short-sleeved shirts. In total, ten members of my family became Dafa practitioners.
Stories about my family spread throughout our small mountain village, inspiring over forty people in our village and fifty in the neighboring village to begin practicing. They lived their lives guided by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion- Forbearance, and people treated each other with sincerity.
The words Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance spread throughout our small mountain village, and the boundless grace of the Buddha swept across the mountains, fields, and villages!
Thank you, Master!
