(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 17 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Zhaoyuan County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Lihua Sentenced to Three and a Half Years in Prison
2. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liang Shuzhi Harassed
3. [Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Liu Xiaohui Arrested
4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Hu Chunyuan Detained
5. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Falun Gong Practitioners in Gongzhuling Prison Denied Family Visits
6. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Chunxiang Detained
7. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Caiming Detained
8. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Six Practitioners Arrested
9. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Ms. Li Jinhua Detained
10. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Song and Ms. Qi Haixia Harassed
11. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Gao Fuling Released After Serving Three and a Half Years
1. [Zhaoyuan County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Lihua Sentenced to Three and a Half Years in Prison
Ms. Zhang Lihua was sentenced to three and a half years in prison by the Qiqihar City Court in January 2026. She has been allowed to serve time outside of prison due to her poor health. The police have repeatedly ordered her to get a physical exam in attempts to imprison her.
2. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liang Shuzhi Harassed
The family of Ms. Liang Shuzhi received a call from a Maluwan Police Staton officer on January 27, 2026. The officer said that the Laozhong District Court had issued an order to be carried out in a few days that Ms. Liang, 88, be taken to a detention center to serve a three-year term she was given in 2023.
3. [Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Liu Xiaohui Arrested
Mr. Liu Xiaohui was arrested on January 20, 2026.
4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Hu Chunyuan Detained
Ms. Hu Chunyuan, 60, was arrested on January 8, 2026, for distributing Falun Gong flyers. The police initially gave her 15 days of detention but refused to release her on January 23. She is currently held in the Changchun City Detention Center under criminal detention. The police have submitted her case to the Nanguan District Procuratorate.
5. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Falun Gong Practitioners in Gongzhuling Prison Denied Family Visits
Several Falun Gong practitioners who are serving wrongful terms in Gongzhuling Prison for refusing to give up their faith have been denied visits with their families for years.
6. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Chunxiang Detained
Ms. Yang Chunxiang was arrested on January 13, 2026. Her home was ransacked. She was given a 10-day administrative detention. When her family went to the Pudong Detention Center to pick her up on January 23, the guard refused to release her, saying that she had been placed under criminal detention.
7. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Caiming Detained
Ms. Li Caiming was issued a formal arrest warrant by the Dadong District Procuratorate on December 24, 2025.
8. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Six Practitioners Arrested
Six practitioners including Mr. Zhao Xianghai and Ms. Hao Guangju were arrested at Ms. Hao’s home on January 6, 2026. The police ransacked Ms. Hao’s home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and printer. Mr. Zhao and Ms. Hao have been admitted to a local detention center. The situations of the other four practitioners aren’t clear.
9. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Ms. Li Jinhua Detained
Ms. Li Jinhua is having severe rectal bleeding while detained in the Yinchuan Detention Center. The Xixia District Procuratorate denied her lawyer’s request to release her on bail.
10. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Song and Ms. Qi Haixia Harassed
Practitioner Song was harassed by five agents from the Pingdu City 610 Office and Wanjia Town Police Station on January 27, 2026. After Song refused to open the door, they leaped over the fence from the neighbor’s yard. Song managed to escape. The police searched the house and confiscated several Falun Gong books.
The officers then went to Ms. Qi Haixia’s home. They photographed her and took her and her husband to the Wangjia Town Police Station. The couple were questioned in separate rooms. They were released later that day.
11. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Gao Fuling Released After Serving Three and a Half Years
Ms. Gao Fuling was released on January 25, 2026, after serving a 3.5-year term.
