(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 3 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 16 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Six practitioners were arrested on January 31, 2026. Wu Shiyang, gender unknown, is being held in the Qitaihe City Detention Center. The status of Ms. Yin Shuling and the other four practitioners isn’t clear.
Ms. Xu Hongxia, in her 50s, was arrested in Qingyuan County Railway Station on January 28, 2026, by officers from the Zhanqian Railroad Police Station, and her Falun Gong books were confiscated. She was released on bail, and was placed under residential surveillance.
Mr. Jia Haijun, Ms. Zheng Shuyan, Huang Wenjie, gender unknown, and Ms. Feng Caiyun were harassed on January 15, 2026, by Tumenzi Village officials, township government agents, and police officers. The harassers took photos and videos of the practitioners against their will, ordered them to defame Falun Gong and its founder, and threatened to deprive their children of higher education.
Li Yang, gender unknown, was released from a detention center on February 1, 2026.
Zhao Eer, in her 70s, was arrested on January 13, 2026. She was released at midnight.
Ms. Dai Yunxiu, 71, and her family, were stopped at the security checkpoint of the South Jingzhou High-speed Rail Station in early April 2025, after the officers found Falun Gong books and materials in her luggage. They took the family to an office and questioned Ms. Dai about where she got the materials. She refused to answer.
Several hours later, an officer brought an administrative penalty notice from the Public Security Department of Shenyang Railway Bureau. He said that Ms. Dai was being given a 10-day administrative detention for disturbing social order, but she was exempted from serving the time due to her advanced age. The family was finally released after Ms. Dai signed the list of confiscated items.
Ms. Liu Guiying was harassed at home on January 31, 2026, by Dongge Police Station officers. She refused to let them take photos of her. They threatened to report her to the higher-ups.
Ms. Qi Hongmei was arrested at home on December 19, 2025, by officers from the Changyi Domestic Security Division. They ransacked her place, seized her Falun Gong books, around 3,000 yuan in paper currency with Falun Gong messages printed on them, and other items. She was fined 30,000 yuan and detained for eight days in the Changyi Lockup. She was released on December 27, 2025.
