(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 27 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Li Hong was followed by an unidentified man when she went out on the early morning of March 3, 2026, right before the start of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) annual “Two Sessions.” She later learned that the person would receive 200 yuan per day for monitoring her.
The “Two Sessions,” which ran from March 4 to 12, 2026, are annual meetings of the National People’s Congress (China’s legislature body) and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (the top political advisory body). The CCP is notorious for intensifying the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners around politically sensitive dates.
Ms. Li and her roommate, Ms. Zhu Caifeng, also a Falun Gong practitioner, were harassed several times by the local community security director at the end of 2025. The officials ordered them to renounce Falun Gong. They refused to comply.
Mr. Jiang Wanxiang and his wife Ms. Yu were arrested on November 2, 2025. They were released later that day.
Ten practitioners were scheduled to be tried by the Wanghua District Court on March 18, 2026. They are: Mr. Wang Nanfang, Mr. Zhou Shuyou, Mr. Wang Zexing, Ms. Hu Mingli, Ms. Hu Fengju, Mr. Liu Haitao, Ms. Huang Yuping, Ms. Lai Chunlian, Mr. Wang Guozhong, and Ms. Li Shuqin.

Mr. Sun Qijie and Mr. Li Qingguang were sentenced to 1.5 years and 14 months, respectively. They have been admitted to the Shandong Province Prison.
Ms. Li Gaolan, 85, was taken away from her home by four officers on the evening of January 20, 2026. Many of her personal belongings were confiscated. Officer Huang Haitao interrogated her at the Chengzhong Police Station. She was released after admitting that she had put up Falun Gong posters at the bus stops and on utility poles. The police returned to her home the next day and gave her a five-day detention. Due to her advanced age, the detention wasn’t enforced.
Ms. Xu Huiyun, 72, was arrested at home by officers from the Shancheng District Police Department on the evening of February 13, 2026. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her computer and printer. Ms. Xu was taken to the Jiaozuo City Detention Center.
Another 10 practitioners in Shancheng District were also harassed in February 2026.
Ms. Duan Xiaorong was arrested on April 20, 2022, and released on bail. She was arrested again on June 24, 2025, and was later sentenced to seven years with a 60,000-yuan fine by the Yanghulu District Court on October 15, 2025. She appealed, but the original verdict was upheld by the Daqing City Intermediate Court in December 2025.
Ms. Duan was transferred from the Daqing City Lockup to the Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison in January 2026. The court withdrew 60,000 yuan from her bank account to pay the fine.
Mr. Li Chaosheng was taken from his home to a brainwashing center by Huachong Police Station officers on January 25, 2026. He was released on February 6, 2026.
