(Minghui.org) Practitioners held an event at Brisbane Square on April 18, 2026 to commemorate the 27th anniversary of the April 25 Appeal in Beijing. They did the Falun Dafa exercises, displayed banners and clarified the truth about the persecution to passersby.

People stopped and watched as practitioners did the exercises, and many signed a petition to end the persecution in China. One person said the April 25 Appeal was a shining example of nonviolent resistance. People talked with practitioners and learned that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has persecuted Falun Dafa for 27 years. Many people thanked practitioners for holding activities and letting them know about Falun Dafa.

University Students Thank Practitioners

Aiden King and Sydney Kirk are students from JMC Academy. They talked with practitioners and learned that Falun Dafa’s guiding principles are Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and that the CCP persecutes practitioners in China and harvests their organs. Aiden said this was horrible. He had previously heard about the persecution but didn’t know the details. He wanted to learn more about the forced organ harvesting issue in China.

He accepted flyers and pamphlets and said he would do some research on this topic because it was very important to know the facts. He also said he would tell his friends about this.

This was the first time Sydney has heard about the CCP’s state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting from living Falun Dafa practitioners. He was shocked and said it was important to know this, although it was hard due to the media’s negative propaganda. He thanked practitioners for holding these activities.

Retired Chief: April 25 Peaceful Appeal Is a Shining Example of Nonviolent Resistance

Yousef Haj Ahmad immigrated from Palestine to Australia more than 30 years ago. He was a manager in an international exchange and cooperation project in a semi-government organization before he retired. He was drawn by the melodious music as practitioners did the exercises, and read the information about Falun Dafa and the persecution on the display boards. He gladly accepted a flyer and listened as a practitioner explained why they were holding the event.

He said he was very touched by the courage demonstrated by practitioners during the April 25 Appeal in Beijing. He said even though they were persecuted so severely, practitioners were very peaceful. He praised them and said the April 25 Appeal was a shining example of nonviolent resistance. He also said the world would be better if people lived by Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

He appreciated the practitioners’ efforts to expose the persecution and signed the petition. He hopes the persecution will end soon.

Young Man from Germany: We Should Condemn the Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners

Silian Palasis came to Australia in March after he graduated from a university in Germany. He heard about Falun Dafa while he was in Germany and knew it was a spiritual group which was persecuted in China, but he hadn’t heard about the April 25 Appeal.

He read the display boards and learned about Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. He was shocked to learn about the brutal persecution in China. He said that it was unacceptable because the CCP violates freedom and human rights, especially when it persecutes such a peaceful group. He condemned these atrocities, and said that forced organ harvesting was trampling on civilization and must be stopped.

He said he would let more people know about the CCP’s persecution and more people should stand on the side of the justice.

High School Students: Freedom Is Precious and We Support Falun Dafa

Aiden Frost and Ryley Evanns are high school students from Logan. They learned about the persecution in China and signed the petition to help end it. They said that because they live in a free society like Australia, it was hard to imagine that such persecution is happening but under the CCP’s totalitarian regime, it is. They said this is tragic.

Ryley said that everyone has the right to pursue freedom and Australia is a free, democratic, equal and tolerant society. He hoped that the Chinese people could have freedom and democracy soon and could live a free life without persecution.

They were very sympathetic to the Falun Dafa practitioners and wished them good luck.

A Chinese Couple Withdraws from the CCP

A Chinese couple stopped and read the display boards. They talked with practitioners and learned that the event was held to commemorate the 27th anniversary of the April 25 Appeal. That day, 10,000 Falun Dafa practitioners went to Beijing to tell the central government how they benefited from practicing Falun Dafa and to request that the illegally detained practitioners in Tianjin be released immediately, that Falun Dafa books be allowed to be published legally, and that Falun Dafa practitioners be allowed to practice the exercises and not be harassed.

The couple accepted the flyers and said that they would learn more about Falun Dafa. The practitioner helped them to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations by alias and wished them a good future. They were very appreciative and thanked the practitioners.
