June 15, 2026 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Guangdong Province, China

(Minghui.org) A 51-year-old woman in Leizhou City, Guangdong Province, was secretly sentenced to five years in June 2026 for raising awareness about the persecution of her faith, Falun Gong.

Ms. Feng Caifeng was arrested on November 27, 2025, after being reported by a fruit vendor for giving him information about Falun Gong. Officers from the Minzhu Police Station in Zhanjiang City and the Zhanjiang City Domestic Security Office raided her home, confiscating a backpack and a suitcase. Ms. Feng was taken to the Zhanjiang City Detention Center in the evening. Zhanjiang oversees Leizhou.

The Chikan District Court in Zhanjiang held a hearing regarding Ms. Feng in March 2026 without informing her family. She was convicted in June 2026. Details about the prosecution are unknown.

This is the third time that Ms. Feng has been sentenced since the Chinese Communist Party ordered the persecution of Falun Gong in July 1999.

She was previously arrested in mid-November 2013, after being reported for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. Her parents went to the Leizhou City Police Department eight times to demand her release, but to no avail. The Leizhou City Court held a secret trial in early June 2014 and sentenced Ms. Feng to five years. She did not have legal representation, and her family was kept in the dark about her prosecution. She was released on July 15, 2018.

Ms. Feng was arrested again on November 22, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was sentenced to three and a half years by the Zhongshan City First Court.
