Tangshan City, Hebei Province: Eleven Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested in Three Days

June 23, 2026 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Hebei Province, China

(Minghui.org) At least 11 residents in Tangshan City, Hebei Province, were arrested from June 9 to 11, 2026, because they practice Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Eight practitioners were arrested on the evening of June 9, including Ms. Zhang Xiujuan, Ms. Zhang Shufen, Mr. Miao Yongli, Mr. Ma Yingjie, Ms. Wu Caixia, Ms. Lyu Xiuying, Ms. Wang Shufang, and Jia (first name and gender unknown). All off their homes were ransacked. While the latter four practitioners were soon released, the first four were admitted to the Tangshan City Detention Center. An insider revealed that more than 20 practitioners may have been arrested that night, but given strict information censorship in China, Minghui.org was only able to confirm the eight mentioned in this report.

Ms. Ji Sufeng was arrested on the morning of June 10. Many of her personal items were confiscated. She was given 10 days of detention at the Tangshan City Lockup.

Mr. Wang Jinyou, 75, was arrested at noon on June 11. He was released around 10 p.m.

Another practitioner, Ms. Wang, was arrested between June 9 and 11. She is currently held at the Tangshan City Detention Center.
