(Minghui.org) Two women in Baiyin City, Gansu Province, were admitted to the Gansu Province Women’s Prison in early October 2025 to serve a five-year term for their faith in Falun Gong, Minghui.org learned recently.
Several officers from the Pingchuan District Domestic Security Office broke into Ms. Zhao Zhuqing’s home on the afternoon of March 8, 2024, after a vendor reported her for using banknotes printed with Falun Gong messages to purchase goods from him that morning.
The police raided Ms. Zhao’s home and put her in the Baiyin City Detention Center. Late that night, they scaled the fence of Ms. Wang Xinghui’s home and arrested her. Ms. Wang was targeted too because Ms. Zhao was seen visiting her in surveillance videos. Ms. Wang’s Falun Gong books and informational materials, as well as cash and other personal items were confiscated.
The police initially refused to reveal the whereabouts of Ms. Wang, a 63-year-old widow who lives alone. They eventually told her children (who work out of town) that she was being held at the Baiyin City Detention Center. Her parents, both in their 80s, were devastated to learn of her arrest. An insider revealed that she was not given enough food to eat and felt hungry all the time.
Ms. Wang and Ms. Zhu were both sentenced to five years in 2025 (exact time unknown). Their appeals were soon rejected, and they were admitted to the Gansu Province Women’s Prison in early October 2025. The prison is notorious for torturing jailed Falun Gong practitioners.
