Local Court President Finally Withdraws From the CCP

(Minghui.org) On the path of clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong), I have had many understandings over the years. I have come to realize that every life is incredibly precious, so we should never casually give up on anyone. We are all Master’s family members. It’s just that different people live in different environments, and have become lost in the human world to different degrees. As Dafa disciples, when we clarify the truth, we need to treat each person with even greater care and wisdom.

A few years ago, I met a practitioner while visiting my hometown and clarifying the truth to people. We were happy to see each other. As we chatted, the practitioner pointed toward a couple walking some distance ahead of us.

She said, “That man is the president of our local court, and the woman beside him is his wife.” She knew who they were because her relative worked at the court. “Could you go talk to them, clarify the truth, and help save them?” she asked.

“Why don’t you tell them yourself?” I responded.

She replied, “I’ve talked to him many times, but he wouldn’t listen, and he refused to withdraw from the CCP [Chinese Communist Party].”

Hearing this, I hesitated. He’s the president of the court, I thought. If he wouldn’t listen to you, why would he listen to me? For a moment, I felt intimidated. But then I remembered Master’s teaching: “Saving people is just that, saving people, and to pick and choose would not be merciful.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the 2009 Greater New York International Fa Conference,” Collected Teachings Given Around the World Volume IX)

My confidence returned. I silently asked Master to strengthen me so I could save the court president. I sent forth righteous thoughts as I walked toward the couple, and greeted them cheerfully. They both looked up at me in surprise. The president asked, “How do you know me?”

I smiled and replied, “You’re the well-known president of the court. How could I not know you?”

Then I lowered my voice and continued talking with them. “President, at your age you know that traditional Chinese culture taught that government officials should serve the people and bring them blessings. But look at today’s officials, how many truly have the people’s wellbeing in their hearts? Beginning with Jiang Zemin [the former CCP leader who initiated the persecution of Falun Dafa], the country has been ruled through corruption. They have indulged in gluttony, prostitution, gambling, and every other kind of wrongdoing. Now they persecute Falun Gong practitioners who cultivate Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. They staged the ‘Tiananmen Square self-immolation’ hoax to defame Falun Gong, and even harvest the organs of living Dafa practitioners for enormous profit. They have committed crimes unlike anything this planet has ever seen. Do you think Heaven will overlook such evil?” Both the president and his wife listened attentively.

I continued, “When Heaven brings an end to such evil, we must not be buried alongside it. That is why we need to renounce the vows we once made dedicating our lives to the Party, and withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. Only then can we remain safe when calamity strikes.”

Then I asked, “Has anyone talked to you about this before?” The court president replied, “Yes, someone has, but I didn’t withdraw.”

“They were doing it for your own good,” I said gently. “There’s no need to go through any official procedure. You can withdraw under a pseudonym or even a nickname. It’s completely safe. Why don’t you and your wife quit today?”

His wife immediately said, “I’m a Party member. Please help me withdraw.”

I then turned to the court president. “Brother, opportunities like this don’t come along often. Renouncing the CCP can only bring you blessings and happiness.”

The court president thought for a moment before saying, “All right, I’ll withdraw.”

I responded, “I wish both of you happiness and peace.”

The couple replied together, “We wish you peace as well. Thank you!”

I quickly responded, “Don’t thank me. Dafa’s Master is the one who asked us to do this. If you wish to thank someone, thank our Master.”

Both of them immediately said, “Thank you, Dafa’s Master!”

From a distance, the fellow practitioner had been watching everything unfold, and was sincerely delighted that the court president and his wife had accepted the opportunity. When I walked back over to her, she said with a trace of self-blame, “I’ve talked to them so many times, and they wouldn’t withdraw. But after you spoke with them once, they agreed.”

I replied, “Actually, all of this was done by Master. It is Master who saves people. We merely lend our voices and our footsteps. Besides, without all the conversations you had with them beforehand, laying the groundwork little by little, today’s discussion could never have gone so smoothly. There may also be another reason. Because your family is connected with the court, the president may have felt cautious or guarded when speaking with you.” The practitioner nodded thoughtfully. The concern on her face disappeared, and was replaced with a warm smile.

There are still many people in this world who do not know the truth about Dafa and the persecution. I will make the best use of the time, follow Master’s teachings, study the Fa well, cultivate myself diligently, and help save more sentient beings.
