(Minghui.org) The annual Rose Fete in Weaverham, Cheshire, UK, is a long-standing community celebration that dates backs to the 1920s. Beloved by the local residents, the event features a parade, performances, and family-friendly activities. The festivities for this century-old celebration kicked off on July 11, 2026. People decorated their hedges and homes in white and purple, and the entire village took on a magical, fairytale-like atmosphere.
The Rose Fete parade began at 1 p.m. and wound its way through the streets of the town as people gathered along the route to watch.
Falun Dafa practitioners were invited to participate in this year’s Fete. Even before the parade started, people asked about Falun Dafa at the practitioners’ booth. Three police officers, who were very interested in the practice, took flyers about Falun Dafa and were given small origami lotus flowers.
Many people applauded or waved at the practitioners in the the parade. Some said they liked the waist drummers’ music and their golden outfits. Most people said they’d never seen such a unique contingent.

Practitioners distributed Falun Dafa flyers to spectators on both sides of the parade route, and some people began to read them right away. Practitioners told them they could go online to learn more about the practice.
Members of the town’s organizing committee went to the practitioners’ booth and thanked them for participating in the event. They said good things about the waist drum team and invited practitioners to participate next year.
Many people followed along as practitioners demonstrated the exercises, and some signed the petition to end the persecution in China.

Although the weather was sweltering hot that day, that did not dampen the practitioners’ enthusiasm. Coming from different parts of England, some had to leave home by 3 a.m. that morning, others needed to change trains many times, while still others had to drive about five hours. They all wanted to help tell people about Falun Dafa.
Seeing the smiles on peoples’ faces along the parade route and how many people wanted to learn about Falun Dafa as well as show their support by signing the petition to end the persecution made everyone feel their efforts were well worth it.
