(Minghui.org) Practitioners held activities and a candlelight vigil at Lake Eola Park in Orlando, on July 18, 2026, to mark 27 years of protesting the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong. Many people stopped to watch their group exercises and expressed support for their efforts to end the CCP’s atrocities.

Candlelight vigil mourns Falun Gong practitioners who died due to the CCP’spersecution.

Many people said they were drawn to the soothing exercise music and talked with practitioners to learn about Falun Gong. They condemned the CCP’s human rights violations and said they hope the persecution ends soon.

Nichie, a local resident, was jogging in the park when she noticed practitioners doing the exercises. She told a practitioner that she’s been looking for a way to improve her health, and she was interested in practicing Falun Gong.

Nannie, a retired nurse, said that she had previously received a Falun Gong flyer so she knows it’s a beautiful practice. After hearing about the CCP’s persecution, including the forced organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners, Nannie said she immigrated from Cuba when she was young, and knew that a communist regime was capable of committing such terrible crimes against people who had a faith. She said any violation of human rights and freedom of belief should be condemned.

Tiffany, another local resident, said the CCP’s persecution of people of faith must be stopped.

Henry, a senior trainer from New York, joined practitioners and did the exercises. Afterwards he said he felt great. He said he had heard about the CCP’s persecution when he was in Flushing, New York, and he hopes the persecution ends soon.

Millie, a therapist, said that it was brutal to imprison and persecute people because they do such a harmless practice. She thanked the practitioners for telling people about Falun Gong and the persecution. She hopes the US Senate will pass the Falun Gong Protection Act and help stop the persecution.
