(Minghui.org) Huadian City Domestic Security Office personnel in Jilin Province claimed they were taking an 87-year-old local woman for a physical exam on July 8, 2026. Instead, they took her to the Jilin Province Women’s Prison to serve a term—the length is not known.

Ms. Quan Jinzi was targeted because she holds firm to her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999. She was previously arrested on April 29, 2020, after being reported for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. She was soon released on bail but was frequently harassed by the police. They pressured her daughter to keep a close eye on her. The daughter was so terrified that she developed a medical condition.

It is unclear when Ms. Quan was indicted, tried, or sentenced. Neither she nor her family was ever notified of her exact prison sentence. When she asked the police for a copy of her verdict in 2025, she was fined 5,000 yuan by the Jilin City Procuratorate. Jilin City oversees Huadian City.

The procuratorate threatened to freeze all her bank accounts if she failed to pay the fine. They knew the exact amounts she had in her bank accounts. She had no choice but had to pay 5,000 yuan.

Ms. Quan was forced to undergo physical exams multiple times in 2026. The police first took her to the Xiehe Hospital in Huadian City but then claimed that the higher-ups “didn’t trust the exam results.” They then took her to the Jilin City Hospital, but their superiors still “questioned the exam results.”

A police officer told Ms. Quan that an official in Huadian insisted that she “be put in jail.”

In May 2026, the police demanded 500 yuan when Ms. Quan again asked for her verdict. This culminated in the incident on July 8, when she was taken to Jilin Province Women’s Prison instead of a hospital in Changchun.

Ms. Quan’s family wasn’t told she was taken straight to prison. They only found out about it from an insider.
