(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners from Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Miaoli, and other areas gathered in the Xinyi District of Taipei on the sweltering summer afternoon of July 25, 2026, to hold a parade protesting the persecution of Falun Gong in China, which the Chinese regime has been carrying out for 27 years. Residents and tourists expressed their admiration and support for the practitioners’ long-standing, peaceful resistance to the persecution.

The Xinyi District, often referred to as the “Manhattan of Taipei,” is a hub for financial institutions, corporate headquarters, and large shopping malls. The procession set off from Taipei City Hall Plaza and proceeded along Shifu Road, Songgao Road, Songren Road, and Songshou Road, passing by several major city landmarks. The participants were calling for an end to persecution and the upholding of freedom of belief.

Calling For an End to the Persecution

The parade featured four sections: “The Widespread Dissemination of Dafa,” “An Unparalleled Injustice,” “The Wave of Quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP),” and “End the Persecution.” Led by the Tianguo Marching Band, practitioners carried banners and signs that read “Falun Dafa Is Good,” “Falun Dafa in Taiwan,” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Shines Across the Globe” to share the beauty of Falun Dafa.

Practitioners in white caps and gloves held portraits of fellow practitioners who had passed away due to the persecution in China. Their solemn expressions reflected the anguish the persecution has inflicted upon countless families. Next came banners about the persecution: “The CCP’s Persecution of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Is Intolerable to Heaven,” “Knowing the Truth is the Hope for Salvation,” “Stop the CCP’s Forced Organ Harvesting,” and, “Renounce the CCP and Return to the Righteous Path.”

Many Taipei residents and tourists stopped to watch the parade. Many accepted informational materials, took the time to learn about the situation, and expressed their support for the practitioners’ persistent efforts to oppose the persecution over the past 27 years.

Taiwanese-American: Saddened to See the Portraits of the Persecuted

As Alex, in his 30s, was watching the parade, his eyes welled up with tears when he saw the portraits of practitioners from China who have lost their lives due to persecution.

Alex is a Taiwanese-American educator. He said, “I knew that some people had their organs harvested. When I saw their portraits, I felt deeply saddened. Such persecution should be condemned.”

Alex expressed admiration for the practitioners’ perseverance in opposing the persecution for the past 27 years. “I think they [practitioners] are very strong. They are very peaceful and are simply sharing the facts.”

He said that many people have not truly reflected on these issues before, making such a parade “very important. I think the significance of what Falun Gong represents is also very important. I feel that many people in this society, in this world, have lost their way. Falun Gong creates a true path for people to follow.”

Weapons R&D Professional: Falun Gong’s 27-Year Stand Against Persecution Is Admirable

Mr. Pan, a professional involved in the research and development of defense weaponry, expressed his admiration for the spirit of Falun Gong practitioners in steadfastly opposing persecution. He noted that, even though they live outside of China, the personal freedom and safety of both them and their families remain compromised due to the CCP’s transnational repression. “Persisting for 27 years under such circumstances is truly admirable,” he said. “We should support Falun Gong practitioners in upholding their freedom of belief, because universal values entail respect for others, the rule of law, and diverse ideas and beliefs."

Chinese-American Scholar: Falun Gong Recovers the Finest Essence of Traditional Chinese Spirituality

John (a pseudonym), a Chinese-American literature university scholar, carefully tucked the materials into his backpack and silently watched the parade.

John admitted that he’d held stereotypes about Falun Gong until he recently stumbled upon Zhuan Falun in a second-hand bookstore. Then his perspective changed: “Once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down.” He believes the book integrates the Taoist principle of “Truth” and the Buddhist principle of “Compassion,” while also providing the element of “Forbearance,” a quality lacking in modern society.

He remarked that modern people are often influenced by electronic devices and social media, gradually losing their patience and drifting away from their true selves. He believes that Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance provides the very spiritual anchor needed at a time when social morality is in decline.

John learned about the persecution, including forced organ harvesting, through online media. He said that it is unacceptable for such brutal persecution to occur in an era that emphasizes freedom, democracy, and human rights. He admired the courage of Falun Gong practitioners in sharing the truth with the world via peaceful means.

Looking at the “The CCP Is Not China” banner and listening to the music of the Tian Guo Marching Band, John said with emotion, “This parade reveals the most pristine and beautiful essence of traditional Chinese spirit, a spirit that has been destroyed in China. Yet, Falun Gong has reclaimed that original state. I find it truly moving.”

Practitioners’ Family Members Support Their Loved Ones in Upholding Their Faith and Hope for an Early End to the Persecution

Ms. Wang, a preschool teacher, brought her son to the front of Taipei City Hall to watch the parade. Her father, a Falun Gong practitioner, was in the parade.

She said that she strongly supports Falun Gong’s efforts to oppose the persecution, standing up for what is right and refusing to abandon one’s faith. Ms. Wang noted that she had heard about practitioners being subjected to forced organ harvesting. “From the top down, [the CCP] engages in forced organ harvesting for profit. This kind of persecution is intolerable to Heaven and will certainly meet with due retribution.”

Ms. Xu, a family member of a practitioner, brought her child along to support her family member’s participation in the parade. She hoped that the persecution would end soon and that more people would learn the truth, be free from the influence of the CCP’s lies, and withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.

She said, “Live organ harvesting is cruel. While people may have been skeptical in the past, many around the world are now aware of it. The issue of human rights’ violations has come to the forefront. This persecution must be brought to an end as soon as possible. I hope everyone will join in opposing it.”

Ms. Xu believes that Falun Gong practitioners have been able to persevere for 27 years due to the strength of their faith. “It is no easy feat to persist for so many years in today’s society. I believe that, in the end, the truth will come to light."
