Additional Persecution News from China – July 21, 2026 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 23 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Xie Kunxiang Arrested

Ms. Xie Kunxiang was arrested by officers from the Sanyuanli Police Station on the evening of April 20, 2026, when she stepped out to throw away the trash. They forcibly entered her home and confiscated her cell phone. She is currently being held at the Baiyun District Detention Center, and her arrest has been approved.

2. [Beijing] Ms. Sun Yanfang Officially Arrested

Ms. Sun Yanfang was arrested at home on May 7, 2026. The police confiscated all her Falun Gong books. She is currently being held at the Fangshan Detention Center. The Fangshan District Procuratorate approved her arrest on June 2.

3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested

A group of officers broke into the home of 85-year-old Ms. Zhang at around 9 a.m. on July 13, 2026, and ransacked the house for over an hour. Ms. Zhang had just been discharged from the hospital and was quite weak, yet she was still arrested. Her guest, Ms. Yao, 87, who was visiting her at the time, was also arrested.

The two elderly practitioners were taken to a police station, where five other practitioners were already being held, including Xiaoli, female, and Ms. Han Dong. Ms. Han struggles with late-stage breast cancer and she was also the caregiver of her husband, who was recovering from a stroke.

Both Ms. Yao and Ms. Zhang were released later that day. The whereabouts of the other practitioners are currently unknown.

4. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhang Guirong Arrested

Ms. Zhang Guirong, about 76, was arrested on June 9, 2026. Her whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Ms. Shan Jining Detained

Ms. Shan Jining’s home was ransacked in early July 2026, and her Falun Gong books and other personal belongings were confiscated. She went to the police station three times demanding the return of her Falun Gong books. The police arrested her on her third trip there on July 14, and took her to the Yinchuan City Detention Center for a seven-day administrative detention. She was scheduled to be released on July 21.

6. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Lihua Detained

Ms. Zhang Lihua was arrested around July 4, 2026. Even though she failed the physical exam, the police still held her in custody.

7. [Hengdong County, Hunan Province] Mr. Cao Genshen’s Sentence Extended by One Year

Mr. Cao Genshen is serving a five-year term at the Wangling Prison. His term was extended by one year because he refused to renounce Falun Gong.

8. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Rongcheng Harassed

Mr. Wang Rongcheng was harassed by officers from the Renzhao Police Station on July 17. They confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun and a Minghui Weekly. They forcibly took him to the police station, interrogated him, and forcibly collected his fingerprints, blood samples, and voice recordings. They released him in the afternoon, but returned the next day to harass him again.

9. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Yuexiang Arrested

Ms. Zhang Yuexiang was arrested on July 8, 2026, and taken to the Shouguang City Lockup for 10 days.

10. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lian Xuemei Detained

Ms. Lian Xuemei was arrested by Anmin Police Station officers in April 2026. She suffered from elevated blood pressure and was released around midnight. The police have since continued to harass her. An officer called Ms. Lian in early July and ordered her to report to the Anmin Police Station on July 14. She went on July 16, only to be arrested immediately and taken to the Dandong City Lockup.

11. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Shuqin Released on Bail

Ms. Li Shuqin was arrested at home at 6 a.m. on July 15, 2026, by four officers from the Shiliang Police Station. They ransacked the place and confiscated a Falun Gong book and a cell phone. Ms. Li was then taken to the police station for interrogation. The police ordered her to provide fingerprints, but she refused to cooperate. She was released on bail in the afternoon.

12. [Fuping County, Hebei Province] Ms. Duan Jianhua Arrested

Ms. Duan Jianhua was arrested at her rental apartment on July 16, 2026, by Li Yongjin and Li Xuewen from the Fuping County Domestic Security Division. They searched the place and confiscated a printer and copy paper. She was forced to pay 8,000 yuan in exchange for her release.

13. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Gao Fuyun, Ms. Han Cuiying, and Ms. Yu Shulian were arrested at their homes at around 5 a.m. on July 15, 2026. They were taken to the Shiliang Police Station, Dongjiang Police Station, and Longgang Police Station, respectively, for interrogation, and were released in the afternoon.

14. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Xiao Fengkuan Arrested

Xiao Fengkuan was arrested at home by four officers from the Ganguantun Town Police Station on July 17, 2026. The officers confiscated Falun Gong books and informational materials. Xiao was taken to the police station for interrogation, and released at around 8 p.m.
