(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zhao Shuqin, who lives in Yunlong Jiayuan in Jiugong, Beijing, was arrested on January 24, 2008, and sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City on June 24, 2008. Because she resisted the persecution several times, she was "hung up," "stretched," "beaten," and electrically shocked. Guards pulled her up by her hair and punched her in the mouth and face. Her eyes were full of blood, and her face became swollen. Later on she felt nauseated, vomited, and experienced head pain and symptoms of a concussion. She is currently mentally disordered and doesn't recognize her family members. Her entire body shivers when she sees people, and she runs away as if frightened.
Her family went to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in April and June. Those in charge refused to let them meet with her. They lied to the family, saying that she had "a bit of a mental problem." Her family went to the labor camp again on June 5 to see her. They demanded that she be given a physical examination, and they gave reasonable reasons.
On January 24, 2008, officers from the Dongcheng Police Department in Beijing searched for and arrested Falun Gong practitioners on a large scale, citywide effort under the pretense of the security of the Beijing Olympic Games. At 9:00 a.m., Ms. Zhao Shuqin, her husband Yang Haijun, her son Yang Moyu, and her second cousin Yang Junmei, were taken away by officers from the Dongcheng Police Department in the Congwen District of Beijing. Their houses and the factory where they worked were searched. Police took valuables and left a mess. They confiscated three computers, several mobile phones, and a Honda car. Yang Haijun was released on January 25, 2008. Police tried to force Yang Moyu to admit that he was a Falun Gong practitioner. He didn't cooperate with the police and instead protested. Two policemen grabbed him by his neck, but he was nonetheless framed for attacking the police and detained for over a month.
Zhao Shuqin and Yang Junmei were detained at the Dongcheng District Detention Center in Beijing. They were abused so severely that Ms. Zhao lost her memory for more than twenty days, and she is still unable to remember what happened. She was transferred to the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp in Beijing on May 13, 2008. Twenty days later she was sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. The guards there were armed to the teeth and ready to kill anyone. They twisted practitioners' joints so severely that they were no longer able to stand. They put hoods over the practitioners' heads, leaving only their eyes and noses exposed, and sealed their mouths.
Ms. Zhao was detained in solitary in the Third Brigade for over twenty days and then was transferred to the first brigade. In the strictly-controlled brigade in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, practitioners were ordered to sing songs praising the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). If they refused to sing, they were hit in the face, beaten with electric batons, and tortured with the "big hang up." Heartbreaking screams could often be heard in the strictly controlled brigade. Practitioners there were forced to do military exercises in the playground every day. If they didn't do well, they were made to stand in one posture under the scorching sun for hours, causing their skin to severely burn.
Masanjia Forced Labor Camp accepted an order to make cotton military clothes and pants and police pants from a northeastern company called "Reputation Company" and another company. They forced practitioners and other inmates to work nine to ten hours a day with no breaks and for no pay. They worked extra hours with extra heavy workloads. They had to finish their quotas every day. Most of the practitioners there were over fifty. Practitioners and other inmates were extremely tired every day. When they were not able to finish the workload or were sick, they were beaten and fined.
Masanjia Forced Labor Camp tried to "transform" practitioners with violence. They were ordered to sign a fake performance register. If they didn't sign, they were tortured. Guard Zhang Chunguang broke one of Ms. Zhao's arms when he tried to force her to sign the register. Another guard, Zhao Guorong, punched her in the face more than twenty times.
The guards used the "big hang up" to torture practitioners. In this torture the guards handcuff the practitioner's hands to the legs of two metal beds. Then two guards pull the beds apart with their full strength until the practitioner's arms are stretched to the maximum. The victim feels as if her arms are being pulled apart. It is as painful as if they have been broken. In only a little while the victim's hands become black and blue and very swollen. Handcuffs grind deep into the flesh. The skin on the back of the hands breaks and bleeds profusely. Because her hands are cuffed to the legs of the bed, she has to bend way over with her face facing the ground. If guards see that the practitioner isn't giving in, they then pin her legs together and tie them to a plank with a belt. They tie both legs from the thighs down to the ankles. As time goes on, the practitioner feels like she was tied to a tiger bench. Every part of her body, including the tendons in her legs, knees, ankles, backs of her hands, wrists, arms, neck, and every vertebra in her spine become unbearably painful. The practitioner sweats profusely because of the pain. After this torture, the practitioner can hardly move her hands, and her fingers became numb. Some victims of this torture can hardly look after themselves for months afterward. After this torture the arm of one practitioner from northeastern China was disabled and the fingers of another practitioner from the same area were disabled. Another practitioner's lower jaw was dislocated, and she had difficulty eating.
Another form of the "big hang up" torture is to affix a practitioner's limbs to each of a bed's four poles. The practitioner is stretched to the maximum for several days like this, and not allowed to use the toilet or eat. In winter practitioners are stripped down to only their underwear. The torture methods the guards use are viciously hideous.
On June 27, 2008, Masanjia Forced Labor Camp held a "Disaster Relief Reporting Conference." In the conference they slandered Dafa. Practitioners shouted, "Falun Dafa is good! Falun Dafa is righteous Fa!" and were tortured as a result. Ms. Zhao Shuqin was given the "big hang up" punishment for three hours. Every time a guard asked her a question, he kicked her during those three hours. As a result, the handcuffs became embedded in her flesh and she could not walk.
On October 30, 2008, Ms. Zhao refused to sign the performance register. Guard Zhang Chunguang shocked her with an electric baton for more than ten minutes and also claimed that he would shock her until he was satisfied, then force her to sign.
The above are only a few of the facts of the persecution of Zhao Shuqin. The persecution of practitioners in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp is still ongoing. We appeal to people from all walks of life in the international community give your support to stop the persecution and rescue illegally detained Dafa practitioners.
