However, on this coming Spring Festival, this joyous celebration is denied to many Falun Gong practitioners in China. They are unlawfully being prevented from reuniting with their families. Because of their belief in Falun Gong, they are illegally imprisoned, tortured, and are wanted by the police. They are forced to attend so-called "Transformation Classes"! [meaning that the authorities wish to transform their minds to give up Falun Dafa]. When people feast on various tasty food, the practitioners are on a hunger strike to fight for their freedom of belief in the human world! When people are sitting together in a cozy room, the practitioners have to unlawfully submit to the humiliation of having all their clothing forcibly removed by depraved lawbreakers, being pushed into the freezing cold outside! When people at home fall into sweet dreams, the practitioners are being hung up and beaten savagely.
Mankind! You have been through suffering. Why do you still harm each other? Human world! When can the cruelty and brutality be stopped? [Master Li says in Essentials for Further Advancement, "If officials are unselfish, the state will not be corrupt. If the population values self-cultivation and the nurturing of virtues, and if both administrators and civilians exercise restraint in their minds, the whole nation will be stable and supported by the people"].
As for the relatives of the 125 Falun Gong practitioners who lost their lives, how will they spend this Spring Festival? And the relatives of the more than 800 Falun Gong practitioners who are being injected with nerve-destroying medication and drugs, how will they react when they face their loved ones who have been disabled by this harrowing abuse? And the relatives of the more than 50,000 Falun Gong practitioners who are in detention; how can they enjoy the "reunion dinner" with ease on New Year's Eve? [Chinese New Year begins on January 24, 2001]. And all the relatives and friends of the numerous other Falun Gong practitioners who have been illegally abducted from home and who are still destitute and homeless ?we can only imagine the great sadness and despair their family and friends feel at this very moment.
Shouldn't people be allowed to have their beliefs? Shouldn't people be permitted to have their own thoughts? Shouldn't people act according to their good conscience? Shouldn't people have a duty to tell the truth?
It is simply for the stability and prosperity of the country and families' happy reunion that Falun Dafa practitioners knowingly take the risk of losing their own lives! By telling one lie, they might be able to reunite with their families to celebrate the Spring Festival. By saying one sentence against Falun Gong, they might be freed from the horrible tortures. However, if happiness can only be obtained by selling one's good conscience, and if the reunion can only be achieved by telling lies, how cold and gloomy this society is and what a perverse meaning it carries to enjoy such happiness and reunion! Human beings! Aren't fake things numerous enough in this human world already! Why can't we start with ourselves, and everyone can tell the truth so that we can create a living environment with the prevailing and refreshing spring wind for our future generations!
People who enter the New Century, eventually you must meet the first spring wind from the severe cold. Open your hearts and embrace her! The spring wind represents kindness, peace and good conscience! Those Falun Dafa practitioners have sacrificed all that they possess, even their precious blood and lives, just to call for the spring wind in people's hearts!
