The Falun Gong spiritual movement is to hold an international conference in a Hong Kong government venue, despite being banned on the Chinese mainland.
Organizers of the conference, which is to be held in Hong Kong City Hall later in January, said they expected around 1,000 practitioners from around the world to take part.
THE Falun Gong spiritual group has won permission to use a government venue - City Hall - for an international convention.
The permission, which comes despite Beijing' ban on the [group] and contrasts markedly with Macau' tough approach, has been granted by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, [group] leaders said yesterday.
