Around 1:00 p.m. on May 14, 2001, a group of vast colorful halos appeared around the sun over Chongqing City, Sichuan Province. The inner side of the huge halo manifested itself in light red while the outer side showed light purple. The arrangement of colors was exactly the opposite to that of rainbows. The phenomena lasted for more than two hours.
