1. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Practitioner Liu Yu Held Beyond Expiration of Term
According to rule No. 57 of the Administrative Procedure Law of the People's Republic of China, the People's Court should hand down the first verdict within three months after the day a lawsuit is filed. If there is any special situation that requires extra time, it should be approved by the Superior People's Court. If a Superior People's Court needs extra time to give the first verdict, such extra time should be approved by the Supreme People's Court.
Practitioner Liu Yu from Shenzhen City has been held for over ten months at the Longgang Detention Center. In mid-October 2005, Liu received a legal document from the Longgang District Procurator's Office dated September 26. On the morning of October 21, Longgang Court officials held a hearing, but made no judgment. Now the time has far exceeded the period for the first verdict. Personnel from the Longgang District Court have neither released Liu Yu nor handed down any verdict. They didn't ask approval from the Superior Court to extend the time either. Liu Yu's family, friends, and fellow practitioners have made phone calls to the office of judge Xu Guang, who is in charge of the case, but they have not received an answer.
2. [Anshun City, Guizhou Province] Eight Practitioners Secretly Sentenced
On November 25, 2005, one year after eight practitioners who were employed at the Liyang Factory in Anshun City were arrested, the authorities secretly sentenced them to the following terms: Yao Junjing was sentenced to nine years of imprisonment; Qi Jiaqin, seven years; Liu Shukang, six years; Li Ruping, six years; Luo Yunzhi, five years; Tang Ling, four years; Chen Hualiang, three years; and Zhang Yan, three years, with four years of probation.
Practitioners Yao Junjing, Qi Jiaqin, Tang Ling, and Luo Yunzhi appealed, saying that their behavior didn't violate the law and doesn't constitute a crime, but the authorities rejected their appeal.

3. [Chongzhou City, Sichuan Province] Practitioner Tian Biying Arrested and Beaten, and Her House Ransacked
At noon on February 20, 2006, four agents from the Chongzhou City Police and National Security Bureau drove to Tibet Base in Chongzhou City where Ms. Tian Biying makes a living repairing shoes. They took her away and ransacked her home. They beat Ms. Tian so hard at the bureau that she fainted. They carried her into a police vehicle, drove to her home, and ransacked her home.
4. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Personnel from the Langfang City Police Department and from the 610 Office Attempt to Arrest Practitioner Mr. Cao Ruitang
Personnel from Langfang City's Police Department and 610 Office have arrested over a dozen practitioners. The practitioners have been staging a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention.
On the morning of February 24, 2006, personnel from Langfang City's Police Department and from the 610 Office drove five or six cars and surrounded Mr. Cao Ruitang's home. They attempted to arrest him. As the practitioner's family members refused to open the door for them, they assigned people to monitor the place around the clock. They told the neighbors to let them know if they see Cao Ruitang coming home and promised 2,000 yuan as a reward to anyone who reports his return. They even sent special agents to the store run by Mr. Cao's family. They removed his telephone and threatened the staff in the store not to tell anyone.
5. [Liaoning Province] Practitioner Ms. Wu Yueju Stages a Hunger Strike to Protest Illegal Imprisonment Term Extension
Practitioner Ms. Wu Yueju, born in 1952, lives in Mahudao Village, the Tiexi District, Pulandian City, Dalian Area, Liaoning Province.
In January 2004 Wu was arrested and put into the Dalian City Forced Labor Camp. In October 2004 she was transferred into the No.3 Division of the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. After she was transferred there, her forced labor term was extended from two years to two and a half years. Her two years of forced labor term had expired on around January 6, 2006. Wu is staging a hunger strike to protest the illegal term extension. She is in critical condition now.
She had been arrested twice before this latest arrest. The second time, her three years of forced labor term was extended by two months.
6. [Tianjin] Ms. Liu Suzhi Held at a Forced Labor Camp
Practitioner Ms. Liu Suzhi from Ninghe County, Tianjin Province was arrested and sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor. During the physical examination, her blood pressure measured 180 and she had a fever. The forced labor camp refused to accept her and informed Ninghe County authorities to pick her up. County 610 Office agent Liu Kejian, the County Police Department head Gao Lisheng, and Meng Xiangong from the County National Security Team disagreed. Consequently, Ms. Liu Suzhi is still being held at the forced labor camp.
More than 20 practitioners are being held in Ninghe County, including Zhai Xinhao and Meng Zhaoxin.
7. [Xixia City, Shandong Province] Ms. Bing Weili Sentenced
Personnel from the Xixia City 610 Office sentenced practitioner Ms. Bing Weili to 10 years of forced labor.
8. [Yulin City, Guangxi Autonomous Region] Practitioners Yang Wei, He Aiping, and Huang Ruoxian Held at a Detention Center.
9. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Yang Hailin Arrested
Personnel from the Zhonghua Police Office, the Congtai Police Station, and the Handan City Police Department arrested practitioner Yang Hailin, an employee of the city's No.3 Construction Company. Yang Hailin is now being held in the city's No.1 Detention Center.
10. [Shashi City, Hubei Province] Practitioner Mr. Zhang Yu Arrested
At around 8:00 a.m. on February 23, 2006, several plainclothes police officers put practitioner Mr. Zhang Yu into a police vehicle. The practitioner is from Shashi, Jingzhou City, Hubei Province, and was riding a bicycle to work when the arrest happened. When his family got the information, he had already been put into the Provincial Brainwashing Center in Tangxunhu, Wuhai City.
Practitioner Zhang Yu, over 20 years old, is an employee of Shashi City's Minde Technology Company. He used to have congenital rheumatic heart disease but recovered in 1997 after practicing Falun Gong. This is his second arrest.
11. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Lijun Arrested
Practitioner Ms. Wang Lijun, around 26 years old, was recently arrested for the third time.
12. [Beijing] A Practitioner Arrested for Distributing Truth-Clarifying Materials and Sent to a Brainwashing Center
Practitioner Ms. Wu, about 70 years old, an employee from the No.1 Division of the Chinese Rocket Research Institute in the Fengtai District of Beijing, was arrested. It happened over 10 days ago when she was clarifying the truth and distributing materials at the General Hospital affiliated with the Aero-Tech Industry Group. Now she is being held at the Fengtai District Brainwashing Center.
13. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Practitioner Ms. Li Lianyun Held at the Weibin District Detention Center
On October 14, 2005, practitioner Ms. Li Lianyun from Baoji City, Shaanxi Province, in her 60s, was arrested and has been held ever since in the Weibin District Detention Center in Baoji City.
14. [Haicheng, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Hu Dawei Sentenced to Up to Eleven Years of Imprisonment
On June 21, 2005, personnel from Tonghua County National Security Team arrested practitioner Hu Dawei from Haicheng City, Liaoning Province, and took the practitioner to Tonghua County. At present, Hu has been secretly sentenced to 11 years of imprisonment at the Tonghua County's Kuaida Detention Center.
15. [Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zeng Qing Arrested Again
Practitioner Ms. Zeng Qing from the Doumen District in Zhuhai City was sentenced to one year of forced labor because she appealed for justice for Falun Gong. After her release she was sent to a brainwashing center for several months and was afterwards sentenced to three years of imprisonment. She was held at Shaoguan first, and then transferred to the Guangzhou City Women's Prison, where she experienced all kinds of brutal abuse and mistreatment. She was deprived of sleep for six months. Police and criminals often tortured and beat her. They even put stool into her food and forced her to eat it. Because of her steadfast belief and righteous mind and action, she was unconditionally released in 2005. But in February 2006, the authorities arrested her again, and her whereabouts are now unknown.
16. [Fuyu County, Jilin Province] Practitioner Ms. Wang Enhui Arrested; Home Ransacked
During the afternoon of February 21, 2006, six policemen committed a crime. These people include Du Dianlong, the National Security Team chief of the Fuyu County Police Department, Luo Hongjian, Yao Chuntao and the Xiaojia Police Station deputy chief. They broke into the home of practitioner Ms. Wang Enhui from Dongyu Village, Yushugou Township. They ransacked her home and confiscated all of her truth-clarifying materials. Then they packed Ms. Wang into a police vehicle and arrested her. At present, she is being held at the county detention center.

17. [Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province] Practitioner Ms. Yang Li Arrested
On around February 20, 2006, personnel from the Guangyuan City Police Department arrested practitioner Ms. Yang Li from Guangyuan City. Police also confiscated some copies of the Nine Commentaries and other belongings.
18. [Haicheng City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Li Guangzhi of Teng'ao Town, Haicheng City Was Arrested on February 11, 2006 and Has Not Yet Been Released.
19. [Rongcheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Tang Yunli Arrested and Her Home Ransacked
At around 10:00 a.m. on February 22, 2006, practitioner Ms. Tang Yunli from the No.6 Village in Chengshanwei Town, Rongcheng City, was arrested and her home was ransacked. Police confiscated her computer and all of her Dafa books. Ms. Tang has been taken to the Rongcheng City Detention Center.
20. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Ms. Du Yunhong Sentenced to Two Years of Imprisonment
In the middle of March 2005, local police arrested practitioner Ms. Du Yunhong from Dalianwan Town in the Ganjingzi District of Dalian City. Another woman practitioner was also arrested. It happened when the two practitioners were cleaning up the street. One practitioner was unconditionally released after 15 days on a hunger strike. Ms. Du Yunhong was transferred to the Yaojia Detention Center and then to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. She was sentenced to two years of forced labor. When her family visited her, they noticed she had been so severely abused and mistreated and is so skinny that her family barely recognized her.
21. [Beijing] Ms. Zhai, about 70 Years Old, Arrested
In the beginning of November 2005, practitioner Ms. Zhai, about 70 years old and from Beijing, went to the Dongba Market to clarify the truth. Ms. Zhai was arrested that evening and her house was searched.
22. [Fushun City, Liaoing Province] Practitioner Li Fengjie Sentenced to Five Years of Imprisonment; Others Sentenced Differently
Practitioners Li Fengjie and Zhao Fuyan are from Yushu Village, Xinbin County, Fushun City, Liaoing Province. In October 2005, several practitioners, including these two, went to Gabazhai Village in Yushu Township to distribute truth-clarifying materials but were arrested. Li Fengjie was sentenced to five years of imprisonment; Zhao Fuyan was sentenced to two years of forced labor. Bai Yuqin was given a delayed sentence.
23. [Beijing] Illegal Arrest of Two Practitioners
Practitioner Zhao Jing from Heping Lane, Dongcheng District, Beijing is a retired employee of the Department of Metallurgy. On February 20, 2006, the police arrested him.
Practitioner Wang Lixin is from Ding'an Xili Lane, Beijing. During the night on February 22, personnel from the National Security Bureau and the police station arrested him.
24. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Mr. Zhang Hongwei Brutally Tortured in Jilin Prison
Practitioner Mr. Zhang Hongwei is from Tonghua City. In January 2001, he was arrested and sentenced to 13 years of imprisonment in Beijing for going there to appeal for Falun Gong. In 2002, he was transferred to the No.10 Ward in Jilin Province's Prison. Because he was steadfast to his belief, police once detained him in a "small cell" for two years, and another time for three months. Currently, he has the symptoms of pulmonary tuberculosis and fluid in his chest. He has difficulty breathing and walking.
