(Clearwisdom.net) BRISBANE, Australia--Tracey and Clive van Deventer attended the opening night of Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Lyric Theatre in Brisbane on Tuesday, June 1.

Mr. van Deventer is a senior vice-president with Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific and drove up from the company's corporate offices on the Gold Coast, an hour's drive from Brisbane, just to watch Shen Yun.

Tracey and Clive van Deventer were at the opening night of Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Lyric Theatre.

Through their tourism interests, the van Deventers interact with a diversity of cultures and accordingly appreciated Shen Yun for offering a glimpse into traditional Chinese culture.

Mr. van Deventer was touched by the performances and said, "I think it was quite unique, it was very different. We really enjoyed it!"

Mrs. van Deventer agreed, saying, "It was interesting to see the Chinese culture and discipline inside, into their way of living."

Working in a large organisation, one of the largest employers in the tourism industry in the region, Mr. van Deventer knows how important it is for a team to work together. Thus he noted that unity in the Shen Yun performances, saying, "It was a really good show in terms of the unison."

With more than 35,000 owners and holiday apartments at 14 resorts in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji, Mr. van Deventer's company is the largest holiday ownership club in the South Pacific region.

Business Owners: 'It was beautifully done'

"Just wonderfully done ... different from what I've seen before," said Margaret McNamara after seeing Shen Yun Performing Arts' last show of its 2010 Australian leg of its world tour at the Lyric Theatre, Brisbane.

Mrs. McNamara, a finance business owner.

"People were going into another dimension, from the earth going up into the heavens, and I thought it was done beautifully," she said.

"The costumes for each set matched beautifully the backdrops, so, it just was all ... was just one, was always just one. And the movements, it was beautiful, I thought it was lovely," she said.

Mrs. McNamara, a finance business owner, also thought the live orchestra and operatic singing of the soprano, baritone and tenor were "lovely", and, recalling the solo erhu performance, she described it as "magnificent". Her husband, Shaun, agreed, "Yes, that was magnificent!"

Both husband and wife expressed an appreciation of the 5000 years of Chinese culture being revived by Shen Yun on stage, delighting audiences in over 100 cities worldwide.

"I just think it's lovely, I like that people follow a heritage, and the heritage and the culture goes back so far," observed Mrs. McNamara.

"And probably at the base of it, it's always sad that, for a culture, that a regime can come in and disperse people. And the peace, or whatever was there, has been separated, I suppose-a division has come, and it's sad, for people, I'm sure, for many people, there's been a great division in their culture and their lives. So, it's not a good thing," she concluded, reflecting on two performances of the evening that portray current China where persecution of Falun Dafa by China's communist regime has torn families apart and attempted to destroy a faith.

Mr. McNamara agreed, adding, "The other thing that was interesting was, it was good to see the culture portrayed both over time and over the dynasties, but also over regions."

Accountant: 'It's just fantastic!'

The audience expressed their delight after attending the Shen Yun Performing Arts' premiere performance at the Lyric Theatre on Tuesday evening, June 1. The show presents two contemporary dances portraying the persecution of the spiritual discipline of Falun Gong. David said: "I'm aware of some of the message behind that. It's interesting going through some of the cause and the Falun Gong, and where they stand in the world. That message I think certainly comes through that production as well."

David recommended that everyone come and see Shen Yun, exclaiming, "It's fantastic, absolutely fantastic!"
