(Clearwisdom.net) It has been 13 years since our family of three became Dafa practitioners. Even though we have not performed heroic undertakings, we have walked our paths safely when dealing with serious trials and tests. We would like to take this opportunity to report our cultivation experiences to Teacher, and hope that fellow practitioners can point out any misunderstandings we may have.
Strongly Dedicated after Obtaining the Fa
My health had been poor since I was a child. Growing up in a poor family, I had to endure every illness without medication, because we could not afford it. When I later had hyperplasia on my mammary gland, I was unable to deal with the excruciating pain. At that time, someone brought me the book Zhuan Falun, which included a glittering picture of Teacher, and it seemed like I had seen it somewhere before. After viewing the spinning Falun, I became emotional! The contents of the book energized me and I felt that this was a book from heaven! I let my husband read it, and he had the same feeling. He said, “You would likely not find a treasure after traveling thousands of miles, but here it is, you got it without any difficulty!” We decided to bring our child along and join the group practice and group Fa study in the village.
My husband and I went straight to the practice site after work, whereas our daughter went directly to the assistant's home after school. There she joined a group of young Dafa practitioners, who studied the Fa, did the Falun Gong exercises, recited Lunyu (On Buddha Law), Hong Yin, and Teacher's Fa lectures. As a nine-year old girl, she was able to understand the Fa. When she was naughty and stumbled, a fellow practitioner asked her, “Why did you stumble?” She answered, “I did a bad thing, and did not obey what Teacher said.”
One night when she had a high fever, I had my daughter continuously listen to Teacher's Fa lectures, and since I didn't like seeing her suffer, I asked, “Would you take some medicine?” She made a hand gesture rejecting my idea and said feebly, “I'm in the middle of eliminating karma.” I encouraged her determination. That was 13 years ago. My daughter endured several similar cleansing events, and is physically very strong now.
With continuous Fa study, my xinxing level increased, and I realized that if a cultivator wants to be free of illness, he must eliminate karma. I therefore threw away the expensive medicine, which I bought for curing my mammary gland problem. At the practice site, I went through serious elimination of karma, which was very strong and obvious. I threw up once every four to five days, and later vomited pus and blood, but subsequently felt good, strong, and light. My celestial eye saw Taos, female immortals, and golden dragons flying in the sky. There were also layers upon layers of other beings floating in the sky. I also saw buildings, pavilions, and other beautiful structures in the clouds. The things I saw fortified my belief in Dafa.
In the process of cultivation and Fa study, Teacher eliminated much of my karma. I had car accidents twice, and I came close to losing my life in one of them. I was hit and fell onto the icy ground. The driver of the involved vehicle was very scared, and she wanted to take me to a hospital. As a Dafa practitioner, I took this opportunity to tell her about Falun Dafa, hoping that her life could be saved.
My husband, also a practitioner, improved his xinxing a great deal. One time when he worked a night shift, some female colleagues asked him to help with getting a dirty water pump from an underground room. When he and another male colleague reached the room, they both passed out due to the strong poisonous gases in the air. At this life-and-death moment my husband begged Teacher in his mind, “Teacher, please save me!” Thereafter, my husband was able to crawl back to the upper level. After stopping for a moment, he went back to rescue his colleague. After this ordeal, his colleagues suggested that my husband should apply for compensation and a leave of absence. However, he kept going to work as usual, and didn't ask for additional money. As Teacher requires of us, we should behave so as to ensure that Dafa maintains a good image in society, thus proving the greatness of Dafa. His action received admiration among his colleagues, which was a good influence as well, thus enabling people to believe that Dafa practitioners are good people.
Talking About the Greatness of Dafa in Beijing After the Persecution Started
When the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong started on July 20, 1999, my husband went to Tiananmen Square in Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong, where he was arrested. I went there too along with our ten year-old daughter and other practitioners. Every one of us brought our own banners, and during our appeal, 15 other fellow practitioners did the Falun Gong exercises. The scene was grand and inspiring! Someone shouted suddenly, “Dafa practitioners have come again!” The Beijing police then ran towards us. My daughter, with the help of a tall fellow, was still holding her banner, which read, “The Law of Buddha is Infinite.” Police officers subsequently arrested quite a few Dafa practitioners, including my daughter and myself. The police put the two of us in detention.
In this evil environment on a hot summer day, and disregarding our own safety, we were spreading the truth about Falun Dafa as we squeezed together, suffering from the heat, hunger, and thirst.
Having Strong Faith in Dafa, Working Hard to Save People
During the ice cold days in the winter, my husband and I, along with our daughter, rode our bikes to distant villages and posted informational materials about Falun Gong and the persecution. Sometimes our daughter's hands turned red from the cold air, but she never complained. We could not help but fall occasionally while riding along some slippery, dark roads. It didn't matter whether it was during the icy winter, the burning hot summer, or windy and rainy days, we have always been together covering one another while distributing booklets, or posting and hanging fliers high on power poles or tree branches, by raising our child onto our shoulders. For the sake of saving folks in villages close by or far away, we have put new tires on our bikes many times. When we returned home, we were either sweaty, soaked from the rain, or felt fortunate and cried.
The three of us have also become strong backups for coordinators. We went wherever others would not go. We delivered all the materials, which no one else wanted to, and we took responsibility for those projects which no one else wanted. Our home has also become a place for group Fa study. Every fellow practitioner from the “4/25,” “5/13,” and “7/20” incidents gathered at our home, where coordinators distributed Teacher's Fa lectures, weekly publications, and informational materials.
We support not only the coordinators, but also quietly try to connect with those who have not cultivated for quite some time, and help them to return to Dafa. We focus on the Fa and certainly keep honoring and promoting Dafa, and do what we should. Our daughter has been in charge of the MP3 recorder and cutter. Our family has been coordinating for more than ten years, and we are a family that fellow practitioners can trust.
Our daughter is healthy, having grown up in the Fa completely without being polluted. Her teachers wanted her to be a member of the Communist Youth League, but she refused. Later, when she went to junior high school, they tried to force her to join the Youth League. On the day when the swearing-in was held, she went home on leave. Her school wanted to honor her as being an excellent member, along with a prize of a few hundred yuan, but she refused and said, “I am not a league member,” which caused her school principal and teachers to think highly of her.
In the process of saving sentient beings and passing tests in our cultivation, the three of us focus on elevating our xinxing, and showing the distinctive character of Dafa practitioners. Teacher has always been by our sides protecting us, and without Teacher it would have been impossible for us to walk safely on our cultivation paths to this day. We shall and must closely follow Teacher and walk righteously towards the end! Thank you!
