(Minghui.org) I started practicing Falun Dafa in April 1998. My diseases were cured very soon after, and at the same time my mind has elevated.
Not Embezzling Even a Penny From My Company
I used to be an accountant and always took advantage of my company when I purchased things. However, after I started practicing Falun Dafa, I behaved according to Master’s teachings.
Two years ago, my colleague and I went on a business trip. My boss told me to reimburse our lunches. My husband asked for a ride, and we had a buffet lunch together with our driver. When we asked for the bill, the waiter said, “The total is 144 yuan for four people.” I said, “Please give me a receipt for three people only.” Shocked, the waiter said, “Other people always want us to write a higher amount than they spent. This is the first time someone wants fewer receipts. I said, “One person’s lunch is personal, so I should only get a reimbursement from my company for the three people on business.” My husband understood me.
Since I started practicing Dafa, I've understood the relationship between gain and loss. We may gain financially when we took advantage of our company, but we lose virtue that could not be exchanged for money.
In 2008, my county had a policy of reimbursing medical bills. All of my colleagues obtained fake receipts from some hospitals and received reimbursements. When my husband also got some fake receipts and wanted me to do the same, I refused. I said, “I am a practitioner, and I cultivate Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I do not lie.” My husband was outraged and said I did not know how to live well. I did not talk back or fight back. After he calmed down, I told him, “We are a family. Am I worth less than the few thousand yuan in your mind? Before I practiced Falun Dafa, I suffered from illnesses and spent a lot of money every year on treatment. In the present society, lying is standard practice. I am a Dafa practitioner. Master told us to guard our virtue, control our behaviour, and maintain a noble realm of mind. If everyone can control himself or herself and stop committing fraud, the moral standard of society would improve. If I commit fraud, my heart would have to bear more than the few thousand yuan–I would not be worthy of Master’s compassionate salvation, and I would not be worthy of Dafa.” Hearing this, my husband felt ashamed and did not bring up the subject again.
Treating Others Kindly
Last summer, a young contractor in his teens installed a water heater for us. He undercharged us by 20 yuan, so I paid him the difference. He was deeply moved. After he left, my husband discovered that the young man had actually overcharged us by at least 100 yuan for the pipe. When he called the company and explained the situation, the manager said, “He is a new employee. I do not know him well. If what you said is true, I will fire him.” In the end, it turned out that the young man did overcharge us, and his boss wanted to fire him. I told my husband not to fight for the 100 yuan. I said, “The young man is the same age as our child. It is not easy for him to find a job. We can educate him so that he can do better in the future. What would you do if he were our child? Dafa asks us to consider other people first.” My husband understood. I then called the manager and told him that we would not ask for the money that they overcharged us. I then called the young man, clarified the truth about Falun Dafa to him, and told him to be honest and compassionate. He cried and apologized. He said he would remember this incident and be a better person according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
Dafa has purified my mind and body. I greatly appreciate Master and Dafa. I validate the Fa whenever I have the opportunity and clarify the truth whenever I can. I want people to know the truth and know that Falun Dafa is good.
