FDIC - Falun Gong Practitioner Near Death in Tianjin Prison

NEW YORK--On February 8, Amnesty International issued an urgent call for help on behalf of a Falun Gong practitioner being held at Tianjin prison who is feared to be near death (link). The practitioner, Zhou Xiangyang (周向阳), was the subject of a petition signed by over 1,500 of his fellow villagers in August 2011 urging the Chinese to release him.

(Clearwisdom.net) Shenzhen City Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Liu Jingze, Mr. Liu Xiaoguang, and Mr. Lu Chunrong were
on June 21, 2011, and have been detained ever since. The police threatened the practitioners’ families not to expose the involved authorities and agents on the Minghui website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom), as well as not to hire defense attorneys to make not-guilty pleas in court.
