Minghui.org has been hosting Experience Sharing Conferences over the Internet for Falun Gong practitioners in China for many years, but I had not submitted any article until now because of my lack of education and confidence. I have a lot of regrets for not sharing my cultivation experiences. It is actually because of Teacher's protection that we have witnessed and experienced so many miracles while clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. I feel that I would not live up to what Teacher has done for me if I did not share my cultivation experiences. I would now like to share my humble insights with fellow practitioners, which I narrated to a fellow practitioner who wrote my story down for me.
I started practicing Falun Gong in 1996. I changed my faith when I found Falun Gong because I was and am convinced that this is what I had been looking for. I have undergone a lot of transformations both physically and spiritually. I have also developed a steadfast faith in Falun Gong.
I have been repeatedly arrested and imprisoned for persevering in my faith since the Chinese Communist regime began to suppress Falun Gong in July 1999. I was repeatedly subjected to cruel tortures while incarcerated because I refused to renounce Falun Gong. I nearly lost my vision because of the torture. After I was released, I came to realize the importance of telling the public my stories as a victim of the Communist regime's persecution of Falun Gong so that the Chinese people would stop believing in the lies that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has created about Falun Gong in order to justify their persecution.
One day I arrived at a local government building. When I saw the government employees, I told them my story: "I have done nothing but practice Falun Gong and tried to become a better person, but I have been sentenced to prison and subjected to cruel tortures. I nearly lost my eyes." They were shocked. "How could something so cruel still be happening today?" they asked. I took the opportunity to explain to them what Falun Gong really is. Many government employees came to know the truth about Falun Gong. I began to approach people on the streets and tell them my story. Some have expressed sympathy and support for Falun Gong. Some have voiced their feelings against the persecution. Some have been moved to tears. I have been clarifying the truth about Falun Gong and the persecution of Falun Gong ever since.
Teacher said,
"As for saving sentient beings and clarifying the truth, a lot of people haven’t done it in depth. They’ll say just a few words to people, thinking “Listen or don’t listen, just do whatever you like. You don’t want to listen, fine!” and they’ll go on to find the next person. In whatever you do you should carry it through to the end, do it well, and if you intend to save someone, then go ahead and save him. When someone is placed before you, there isn’t a choice—you’re wrong if you become selective in terms of saving people. As long as he is someone you run into, you should save him, regardless of his position or social status, or whether he be the president or a beggar. In the eyes of gods, beings are equal. Social status is just a distinction made in human society." ("What is a Dafa Disciple")
I have realized that we should not pass judgment on anyone based on their career or social status when clarifying the truth to people. I even clarify the truth to those who participate in the persecution of Falun Gong. It is destiny whom I meet. They are all lives that we are trying to save. I will treat them with equal compassion. I should not treat them differently. I will tell them the truth about Falun Gong and give them an opportunity to choose their own future.
One day I saw several smartly dressed people coming out of a car. I approached them with a smile and handed each of them a copy of truth-clarification materials. I also told them about quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its two student affiliations. They smiled back and were very receptive. They ended up quitting the CCP and its affiliations which they had once joined. It turned out they worked for the Bureau of Education.
In 2012, a local practitioner was arrested and detained for over four months before he was brought to trial. Fellow practitioners in the area and I had tried many different ways to clarify the truth to the local authorities. One practitioner said that the secretary of the Political and Legal Committee was the worst because he would not see anyone about the case, not even the practitioner's relatives. I was unmoved when I heard the comment. I believed that I should clarify the truth to him as long as he is a human being. I should not be selective in terms of saving people. I went to his office building with righteous thoughts in my heart. I ran into his chauffeur at first, who tried to get rid of me by telling me that he was not in the office at the time. I begged Teacher for help in my heart. Soon, the secretary himself came out. I somehow knew it was him. I approached him and greeted him. I explained the reason for my visit and some important facts about Falun Gong. He was not receptive at the time, but I felt that I did what I was supposed to do as a Falun Gong practitioner.
Then another fellow practitioner suggested that we should go to the courthouse and clarify the truth about Falun Gong. A fellow practitioner and I went to the courthouse and entered the building. We arrived at the office of the chief judge, who was on the phone. He didn't seem to hear us when the fellow practitioner greeted him. I invited the fellow practitioner to sit down as though I was the host. I also found a chair and sat down. When the chief judge saw that we had sat down, he changed his attitude and offered us hot tea. It appeared that our righteous thoughts and actions had disintegrated the evil elements from other dimensions behind him. He was rather receptive when I clarified the truth about Falun Gong, although he did not agree to quit the CCP or its two affiliated organizations at the time. I told him that we would talk about it again.
After we left the courthouse, the fellow practitioner asked me to clarify the truth to her father, who has been a member of the CCP for many years and would not listen to anyone when it comes to quitting the CCP. I agreed. I visited him the next day with the fellow practitioner. His wife opened the door and said that he was not home. We asked to wait for his return. While we were waiting, I got up and walked about. I happened to spot him watching TV in another room. I entered the room and began to talk to him like an old friend. I shared important facts about Falun Gong. He paid close attention the whole time. He agreed to quit the CCP and its affiliates. I also left him a copy of Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, which he gladly accepted.
I have been clarifying the truth about Falun Gong for many years. I am just doing what Teacher expects of us. I try to let go of all attachments, notions, and fear. It is only about saving people. I must not be selective in terms of saving people. Teacher will pave the way for us as long as our thoughts are righteous.
A former secretary of the local Political and Legal Committee is a distant relative of mine. I often clarified the truth about Falun Gong to him and gave him materials containing important facts about Falun Gong. Once he understood the truth, he not only quit the CCP and its two student affiliates, he has also done many things to protect Falun Gong practitioners. I often run into government employees working in the various different branches, including legislative, law-enforcement, and jurisdiction. I see them only as people that need to be saved from the CCP's lies. I have not met with significant obstacles. The majority of them have quit the CCP and/or its two affiliates.
This is my daily routine: I get up in the morning and practice the Falun Gong exercises. Then I study one lecture of Zhuan Falun. Next I do some household chores. In the afternoon I go out on my bicycle and clarify the truth to people. I stick to the same routine every day in all weather conditions. After all, we are the only hope for the sentient beings to be saved. We must not forget the responsibility and mission that history has bestowed upon us. The old forces are trying to destroy the sentient beings. We are fighting with the old forces to save people at this pivotal moment in history. How can we not hurry up?
Teacher said,
"This instant is precious beyond measure. Completing the last leg of this journey well is what's most magnificent." (“Teaching the Fa in the City of Chicago,” June 26, 2005)
I have known for many years that this time is the most precious. We need time to study the Fa and practice the exercises. We need time to clarify the truth to people. That is why I cherish time. I don't waste any time. I am destined to meet the people I run into in my daily life when shopping, attending social functions, and running errands. I clarify the truth to all of them, not wasting the opportunity for them to be saved.
I cherish the time I have to clarify the truth. I do it at regular hours. I go on my bicycle every afternoon and cruise the streets looking for people to clarify the truth to. I treat every person with compassion and long for them to be saved. I only look at their positive sides and ignore their negative sides when I clarify the truth to them. I suppose it is because I clarify the truth with a pure mind that I can usually persuade about a dozen of people to quit the CCP and/or its affiliates.
There was a period of time when I joined a fellow practitioner, who works at a hospital, to clarify the truth. She is a physician who sees many patients a day and I clarified the truth to her patients. We worked very well together. People wish for good health when they go see a doctor, so I usually chose an approach that appeals to their pursuit for peace and good health when I talked to them. Most of her patients agreed to quit the CCP and/or its affiliates. As many as two dozen people would agree to quit on some days, but there were usually at least a dozen a day.
It is out of compassion that I do not want to see any sentient being get weeded out. My heart is with the sentient beings. I see them as my own family. Naturally I feel anxious to save the sentient beings when I see them facing a colossal disaster.
In addition to clarifying the truth about Falun Gong face to face, I also distribute truth-clarification materials in large quantities and post truth-clarification posters on the streets. I usually do it during the day. I distribute truth-clarification materials wherever I go.
There are traffic jams on the main roads during holidays. I take such opportunities to hand truth-clarification materials to drivers stuck in traffic. They are usually not local people. I go from one car to another and greet the drivers. They have all accepted the materials willingly.
One day I dropped some truth-clarification material in a car while the driver was not there. When he saw what I did, he exclaimed in panic, "What did you put in my car?" I replied calmly, "It is the truth about Falun Gong. I have given you good fortune. Read it and you shall be blessed." He accepted it gladly. One day I was pasting a poster on an electric pole while no one was around. As soon as I finished posting it, someone showed up and asked me what I was posting. I said, "It is a treasure that will eradicate evil. It will save people. If you try to protect it, you shall be blessed." She was delighted with my answer.
Clarifying the truth face-to-face, posting truth-clarification fliers and distributing truth-clarification materials are all about saving people. It is the most righteous deed in the universe, but we must do it with righteous thoughts and actions so that Teacher will eliminate the evil elements in other dimensions that might interfere with our work. People will choose with their free will when there is no element from other dimensions manipulating their minds. There is hope for them to be saved.
Studying the Fa is the key to clarifying the truth well. We must study the Fa well daily, search inward when we encounter obstacles, and rectify ourselves. It is only then that we will be righteous and compassionate and be able to save people. Teacher will arrange the path for me as long as I meet the standard at my present level of cultivation. I am nothing without Falun Gong. I only intend to validate Falun Gong in sharing my humble insights. I also hope fellow practitioners will cherish this time to save people and not waste the time left. Please kindly point out anything inappropriate in my humble insights.
