Father and Son Arrested and Sent to Xin'an Forced Labor Camp in Beijing

(Minghui.org) Mr. Hui Xueqian, 18, from the Tongzhou District, Beijing, was arrested along with his father. Mr. Hui was sentenced to two years, and his father to two and a half years in a labor camp.

Mr. Hui, a student in the Chaoyang District of Beijing, was followed by police while he was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. He and his father were later arrested at home. His mother and sister are also Falun Gong practitioners. The police intended to arrest his whole family, but since Mr. Hui's mother was sick and needed care, only Mr. Hui and his father were arrested.

Mr. Hui was sent to Team No. 6 upon arriving at the Xin'an Labor Camp in the Daxing District. His father was sent to Team No. 5. They were both later sent to Team No. 2.

While Mr. Hui was in Team No. 6, the former deputy team leader Chen Xueshi was in charge. Chen was later promoted to production section chief. Chen was responsible for numerous episodes of physical and psychological torture which Mr. Hui had suffered. Mr. Hui refused to memorize the lists of labor camp commands and would not write the three statements. He was punished with sleep deprivation and brainwashing; however, since those tactics were ineffective, Mr. Hui was transferred to Team No. 2 a month later.

Team No. 2 was formed by merging former Teams No. 1, 3 and 4 in the Tuanhe Labor Camp in Beijing, which focused on persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. The combined teams were then relocated to the Xin'an Labor Camp. On the surface, the labor camp uses the slogan of “educate, guide and save,” however, in reality they disregard human rights and the law. They use violence and cruelty to persecute Falun Gong practitioners.

Upon arriving at Team No. 2, Falun Gong practitioners were kept in solitude. The “personal monitors,” are criminal inmates who are assigned by guards to follow and beat Falun Gong practitioners, and try to make practitioners write the three statements.

If the practitioner refused to write the statements, the personal monitors would use various ways to torture and humiliate the practitioner. For instance, sitting up straight on a small stool for long periods of time. The practitioner had to sit on a small stool with the back straight for at least 17 hours a day. The practitioner had to put his hands on his knees, and was only allowed to sit on the front third of the stool. If the practitioner shifted his body, the personal monitors would curse and hit him. In this kind of sitting position, the sitter's body weight would press on two small areas on his bottom. After a long period of sitting, the sitter's upper body would feel stiff and the lower body would feel numb and painful. Due to sitting in this position for a very long time, some practitioners developed edema on their lower bodies, and the flesh on their bottom had broken sores, with puss and blood from the sores sticking to their pants. The pain is unbearable.

If “sitting on a small stool” humiliation and other forms of physical torture still could not make a practitioner write the three statements, the prison guards would make them watch videos and read pamphlets that slandered Falun Gong and its founder. The guards would give the practitioner a very small amount of food, and make the practitioner kneel with one knee on the ground for hours. They would also disallow the practitioner to sleep, wash, use the restroom etc. to force the practitioner to give up practicing Falun Gong.
