Additional Persecution News from China – August 26, 2013 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 14 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 5 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Ge Aiguo Sent to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Ge Aiguo was recently transferred to a brainwashing center from the Ranghulu District Detention Center.

2. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Lin Haiqiang Faces Trial

Mr. Lin Haiqiang was arrested in April 2013 and has been held in the Weibin Detention Center. The Weibin District Court officials attempted to try him on August 30.

3. [Jianping County, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Yang Jun Sent to Prison

Mr. Yang Jun was sent to Chifeng Prison on August 3, 2013. Four criminal inmates were assigned to “transform” him.

4. [Dawa County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Feng Xiumei Detained

Ms. Feng Xiumei from Tianzhuangtai Town was arrested at home around August 21, 2013. Dawa County police made the arrest and ransacked her home. They confiscated her computer, telephone, cash and other personal belongings. Ms. Feng is currently held in the Panjin City Detention Center.

5. [Tongliao, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Hou Yunxia and Ms. Zhang Ping Detained

Ms. Hou Yunxia and Ms. Zhang Ping were arrested on the morning of August 22, 2013. Officers from the Ke District Domestic Security Division made the arrest. Both practitioners are currently held in the Hexi Detention Center.

6. [Beijing] Ms. Zhao Fuhong Recently Arrested

7. [Nanning, Guangxi Autonomous Region] Mr. Lu Hai'en Arrested

Mr. Lu Hai'en from You'ai Village, Wutang Town was arrested at home on the afternoon of August 14, 2013. Officers from the Wutang Town Police Station broke into his home and ransacked it. They took away his personal belongings worth tens of thousands of yuan, before taking Mr. Lu into custody.

8. [Pingshan County, Hebei Province] Mr. Chen Yunyun and Ms. Zhao Shuhe Arrested

Mr. Chen Yunyun from Sanji Township was arrested on the morning of August 6, 2013, when he posted informational materials about Falun Gong. He was taken to the local police station and his home was ransacked.

Ms. Zhao Shuhe from Sanji Township and her companion went to the township police station on August 12, 2013. They told police officer Gai Yongjun the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution. On her way back home, Ms. Zhao was arrested. The interrogation ended up in vain, and the police released Ms. Zhao.

9. [Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhang Jinku Sent to Prison in Hospital Stretcher

Mr. Zhang Jinku, together with Mr. Mo Zhikui, Mr. Xu Feng, Mr. Sun Wenfu and Mr. Li Dapeng, was sent to Jiamusi Prison on the morning of August 21, 2013. Mr. Zhang could not take care of himself as a result of the physical abuse and torture he was subjected to while he was in the detention center.

The police carried him on a stretcher and placed in a vehicle from the Yilan County Chinese Medicine Hospital, and sent him to Jiamusi Prison.

Mr. Zhang and Mr. Sun were given a five-year prison term, Mr. Mo was given 12-year prison term, Mr. Xu and Mr. Li, a three-year term.

After Mr. Zhang was arrested and taken to the Yilan County Detention Center on March 29, 2013, he was severely beaten by guard Yang Xinhua and others. The beatings seriously injured Mr. Zhang, caused him to suffer from inflammation of the lungs, which finally developed into tuberculosis.

He couldn't eat and drink for more than 20 days, before the detention center officers sent him on a stretcher to the Yilan County Chinese Medicine Hospital for emergency treatment.

10. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhou Hongli and Ms. Jia Mantao Arrested

More than 20 plainclothes police officers broke into Ms. Jia Mantao's home in the Hexi District on the morning of July 16, 2013. They ransacked her home before taking her away. The police confiscated a printer, a computer and some informational materials about Falun Gong. The police also took Ms. Jia's non-practitioner son to the Youyi Road Police Station and held him for more than 30 hours before releasing him.

Seven plainclothes officers from the local 610 Office broke into Ms. Zhou Hongli's home that same morning on July 16. They ransacked Ms. Zhou's home, confiscated her cell phone, computer, printer and informational materials about Falun Gong. Ms. Zhou was taken into custody. Her child was also taken to the police station and held for more than 20 hours.

11. [Kaili City, Guizhou City] Mr. Wen Jiguo, Mr. Bao Zhengwei and Ms. Wang Detained

Mr. Wen Jiguo, Mr. Bao Zhengwei and Ms. Wang were arrested on August 19, 2013. Officers from the Kaili City 610 Office, Police Department, and the Chengxi Police Station made the arrest. The three practitioners are currently in the Kaili City Detention Center.

The police confiscated the following items from Mr. Wen's home: a desktop computer, 2 laptop computers, 3 printers, a camera, TV set and one set of satellite TV receivers, and informational materials about Falun Gong.
