(Minghui.org) Zhuozhou City Court illegally tried six Falun Gong practitioners without notifying them or their families on February 11, 2015, and sentenced them from three to five years in prison.
Mr. Dong Hanjie and Ms. Gao Chunlian were sentenced to five years in prison; Mr. Wang Yun three years in prison with a five year suspension; Mr. Zhang Haiyang and Ms. Dong Junhong to three years; Mr. Ge Zhijun to four years.
Two trials were held, but throughout both trials the judges and prosecutors were unable to answer the attorneys' questions. They could not explain why the charge of “using a cult organization to undermine law enforcement” was applicable. They hastily ended the trials and announced the verdicts privately. Such absurd trial and decision process completely ignores the laws in China, and undermines law enforcement.
Mr. Ge was forcibly taken to Baoding Prison in Hebei Province on February 11, 2015. He was released because he became ill.
Ms. Dong Junhong was arrested at her shop by plainclothes officers on February 10, and taken to Baoding Qingyuan Detention Center. Her family was not notified. As soon as they heard the news, they immediately appealed.
Others are also appealing. With the help of attorney Zhang Junjie, Ms. Gao implicated officer Yang Yugang. Yang once tortured Ms. Wang Huilan to death. Yang has extorted over 1.6 million yuan during the years of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. He constantly framed and tortured practitioners or instigated others to torture them.
