(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 5 provinces. According to this report, 12 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 14 were illegally arrested.

1. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Li Mingfang Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison
Ms. Li Mingfang from Yunyan District was arrested and taken to a detention center for disseminating Falun Gong information. She was sentenced to a prison term by the Yunyan District Court in April 2016, and the Guiyang City Intermediate Court denied an appeal in late August 2016.
Ms. Li's son received a phone call in late August or early September from the Guiyang City Intermediate Court. He was told that his mother had been sentenced to a seven-year prison term.
2. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jin Min Sentenced and Taken to Prison
Ms. Jin Min was arrested by officers from the Taoyuan Police Station, Erdaojiang District, on August 19, 2016. She was held in the Tonghua City Detention Center, and subsequently transferred to the Tonghua City No. 3 People's Hospital, also known as Railway Hospital. The Erdaojiang District Court tried Ms. Jin in the hospital room. Ms. Jin was given a one-year prison term. She was later transferred to the Jilin Women's Prison.
3. [Tianjin] Ms. Wan Huimin Again Faces Trial
Ms. Wan Huimin has been tried twice by the Hexi District Court, on July 20 and August 8, 2016. Her lawyer was notified that the court would put her on trial again on October 9 and October 10, 2016.
Ms. Wan was arrested by officers from the Donghai Police Station, Hexi District, on the afternoon of December 5, 2015. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated a printer, a phone, and Falun Gong books. She was taken to the Hexi Police Department Detention Center, in the Wushuidao Area.
4. [Beijing] Sick in Prison, Ms. Gong Xiurong Taken to a Hospital
Ms. Gong Xiurong, in her sixties, lives in building No. 15 of the Bajiaozhongli Residential Community, in Shijingshan District. She was asked to appear in court and then arrested on September 27, 2016. She was sentenced to over a year in prison. She developed illnesses and was transferred to the Public Security Hospital.
Ms. Gong was arrested by Zhao Minglong, a Bajiaozhongli police officer, on June 9, 2005. She was sentenced to two years of forced labor and held in the Beijing Women's Labor Camp. Officials from the 610 Office and administrative personnel from the Bajiaozhongli Neighborhood took her to the Wulitun Brainwashing Center on May 18, 2015, where she was held for eight days.
5. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Lin Yanzhen, Ms. Li Yuzhi, Ms. Qu Zeping, and a practitioner surnamed Du were arrested by officers from the Tianqiao District Police Station on September 27, 2016.
6. [Shanghai] Ms. Yang Manyan Severely Abused in Prison
Xu Jinlong, an official from the Tilanqiao Prison, used the same persecutory methods on both incarcerated male practitioners and female practitioners. The persecution of female practitioners has escalated.
Ms. Yang Manyan refused to be “transformed,” and was severely abused. She developed high blood pressure and high blood sugar.
7. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Two Practitioners Detained
Ms. Lu Xiujun, Ms. Lu Junmin, and Ms. Lu Wang were arrested and taken to the police station for interrogation by several officers from the Rencheng District Domestic Security Division and the Dongshao Police Station on March 2, 2016. Ms. Lu Xiujun was detained for seven days and Ms. Lu Junmin for five days.
The police station director and several police officers later went twice to their homes, harassed them, and confiscated the book Zhuan Falun and several DVDs.
8. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Several Practitioners Detained
Li Bin and other officers from the Dao'erdeng Town Police Station broke into several practitioners' homes on September 29, 2016. They confiscated Falun Gong books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. Several practitioners were arrested and taken to the Lingyuan City Detention Center.
These officers broke into Ms. Li Shufen's home at 8:00 a.m. that morning and confiscated some personal belongings. They arrested Ms. Li's husband Mr. Zhang Shuge at work in the afternoon. He was detained for 12 days.
They broke into Ms. Bao Qin's home on South Dao'erdeng Street at about 11:00 a.m., and confiscated about 40 Falun Gong books and five photos of the founder of Falun Gong.
They subsequently went to Mr. Liu Fengguo's home in Xiaohexi Area, Dao'erdeng Town, and confiscated over 40 Falun Gong books. Ms. Liu escaped.
Mr. Bai Wenxiang from Baizhangzi Village, Dao'erdeng Town, was arrested by Li Bin when he was working in the fields. He is being held in the Lingyuan Detention Center.
Mr. Wang Huiwu from Badaogou Village, Dao'erdeng Town, was also arrested. He is being held in the detention center.

9. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Several Elderly Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Tan Jiqing, 77, and Ms. Pu Suiting, 78, were arrested on September 21, 2016, by officers from the Fuyuanlu Police Station, for disseminating Falun Gong materials. Both elderly practitioners were interrogated and released that afternoon.
Seven officers from the Nanjinlu Police Station came to Ms. Pu's home on the afternoon of September 21. They saw seven or eight elderly practitioners reading Falun Gong books. They ordered everyone not to move. Mr. Liao Banggui, 68, was beaten by the officers for talking about Falun Gong. Two officers held Mr. Liao down to the ground and attempted to handcuff him. After about one hour, the officers left with the Falun Gong books they had confiscated.
