(Minghui.org) I am a 57 year-old Falun Dafa practitioner from the countryside in Inner Mongolia. My husband works out of town and is not a practitioner.
He was deeply influenced by the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) education and its atheist ideology. When I spoke to him about Dafa in the past, he always took exception to what I said and chose to believe the lies and propaganda put out by China's state-run media.
I always had grievances with him, and often said, “It's my misfortune to have married you in this lifetime. You haven't brought me any happiness.”
Sometimes when my anger flared up, I slapped him and called him names. I was quite domineering at home. But how could I save people with such behavior? How could he be convinced of Dafa’s grandness?
Last year, my husband came home for the Chinese New Year. I thought about what kind of practitioner I would be if I couldn't even save a family member. He didn’t know the truth about Dafa because I hadn't spoken properly to him about it, so he could not witness the beauty of Dafa through me.
Since my moral character had improved and I was more compassionate towards others, I wanted him to see this and experience the beauty of Dafa.
I knew that I must offer him salvation, so I began to think more about his needs, and took care of him. He felt my compassion and often looked at me with respect.
He asked me, “How is it possible that you have changed so much?”
“Dafa has changed me,” I replied. “Don’t you think that I'm different now compared to before? Dafa teaches us to be selfless.” He listened to me quietly and kept nodding.
I continued telling him about Falun Dafa, and said. “Since the CCP was established, it has told us to fight with heaven, earth, and the people. We do this every day. When people meet each other, they are already suspicious about each other, even before they engage in a conversation.”
As I talked more, my speech became full of wisdom. He began to understand what I was saying and nodded constantly. He even agreed to recite aloud, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”
Before going back to work, my husband cried and said to me, “I have not brought you any happiness. However, you've helped me and brought me happiness.”
