Additional Persecution News from China – January 31, 2016 (20 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 5 provinces. According to this report, 18 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 20 were illegally arrested.

1. [Baoquanling, Heilongjiang Province] Several Practitioners Detained

Ms. Ma Yucui and Ms. He Ping from the Baoquanling Land Reclamation Bureau were arrested for distributing Falun Gong informational materials on January 25, 2016. Their homes were ransacked by officers who confiscated Ms. Ma's desktop computer, printer, notebook computer, and several cell phones, including her husband's cell phone. The authorities extorted over 1,000 yuan from the families of each of the practitioners. Both practitioners were taken to the Suibin Farm Detention Center at the Baoquanling Land Reclamation Bureau.

Ms. Yang Lanying and Ms. Liu Hehua from the Jiangbin Farm in the Land Reclamation Bureau were followed and arrested for distributing Falun Gong informational materials on the afternoon of December 29, 2015. Both practitioners were taken to the Suibin Farm Detention Center for 15 days of detention.

2. [Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Jingyan Detained

Zhang Huanian, chief of the Xingkaihu Farm Police Department in the Mudanjiang Agricultural Administration, demanded on January 30, 2016 that his subordinate lock up her mother for practicing Falun Gong. He threatened that if she did not take her mother to a detention center, she would lose her job. Under Zhang's coercion, Ms. Li Jingyan's daughter and son-in-law took her to the detention center for ten days of detention.

3. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Several Practitioners Harassed

Members of the 610 Office, and staff from the Yingbei Residential Committee, which is subordinate to the Liyuan Neighborhood Administration Office, in Kuiwen District, called Ms. Li Minxiang, Ms. Dong Ailan, and Ms. Xiao Wanyu on the afternoon of January 28, 2016. They said that officers from the Liyuan Police Station would come to their home on January 29, and demanded that they be home.

Staff from the residential committee and officers from the police station showed up at the homes of Ms. Li's mother-in-law and Ms. Dong the next morning and harassed them. They demanded that Ms. Dong sign guarantee statements promising to give up Falun Gong, and threatened to take her to a labor camp if she refused to sign.

4. [Cao County, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Zhongxi and Mr. Wu Zengkui Detained

Officers from the Cao County 610 Office and the police department ransacked the homes of practitioners, and harassed them, on January 28, 2016, for filing lawsuits against Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese communist regime.

Mr. Li Zhongxi and Mr. Wu Zengkui were arrested on October 30, 2015. Mr. Li was held for 37 days and extorted of 20,000 yuan. Mr. Wu was held for 18 days and extorted of 2,000 yuan.

5. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Ni Yuxian, Mr. Liu Shengcao, and Ms. Su Mingying were arrested by officers from the Baishan Police Station for distributing Chinese New Year paintings and calligraphy works with Falun Gong content on January 30, 2016.

6. [Dingxing County, Hebei Province] Five Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Li Hanqing, in her fifties, an employee at the Dingxing County Labor and Personnel Bureau, was harassed by Ren Xiaolong, head of the 610 Office, in January 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin. Ren demanded that her work unit fire her.

Mr. Li Laifang, in her forties, from Nanxiaozhuang Village in Dingxing Town, was harassed at home in August 2015, for suing Jiang Zemin.

Ms. Li Huilan, in her seventies, retired from the county hospital, filed lawsuit against Jiang Zemin.

Ms. Wei Xiuling, in her fifties, from Lijiazhuang Village in Yaocun Township, was harassed in August 2015, for suing Jiang Zemin.

Mr. Xue Fenglian, in his seventies, from Yangcun Township, along with his second elder sister, were harassed by officials from the township government.

7. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Xinhua Detained

Mr. Zhang Xinhua was arrested by officers from the Dabeijie Police Station in the Xuanhua District on January 17, 2016, for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. He was tied to a tiger bench torture device from 7:00 a.m. to around 3:00 p.m. All of his personal belongings were confiscated, including an electric motor car, a hat, keys, and a small flashlight.

Ms. Zhang was taken to the Zhangjiakou Detention Center on January 17, where he was held for ten days. On January 27, he returned home and found that the police had confiscated all his Falun Dafa books, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, calendars with Falun Gong messages, and an MP3 audio player.

8. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zou Deyong's Wife Arrested

Mr. Zou Deyong's wife was arrested on January 29, 2016. Their home was ransacked.

9. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Ruicai Arrested

Ms. Wang Ruicai, in her sixties, from the Liuhe Residential Community, was reported to police for distributing Falun Gong informational materials in Wangjiazhuang Village, Chengdong area, on the morning of January 30, 2016. She was arrested by police and her home was ransacked.

10. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wei Yongzhen Detained

Ms. Wei Yongzhen was arrested by officers from the Diaoyutai Police Station for distributing Falun Gong informational materials in a farmers' market on January 29, 2016. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated a printer, a computer, and Falun Gong books. Ms. Wei was taken to a detention center.

11. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jing Fengyun Detained

Ms. Jing Fengyun was arrested and taken to the Siping City Lockup for suing Jiang Zemin. She is being held in the Siping City Detention Center.

12. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Gao Guizhen Taken to Drug Rehabilitation Center and Family Members Detained

Yin Peiwei, deputy director of the Waili Police Station, along with other officers, broke into Ms. Gao Guizhen's home and ransacked it on January 24, 2016. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, DVDs, a computer, and an MP3 audio player. She was held in the Dalian Drug Rehabilitation Center.

Ms. Gao's daughter Ms. Li Ying, and son-in-law Mr. Li Haoyuan, were arrested by Yin Peiwei on December 2, 2015. Ms. Li is being held in the Yaojia Detention Center. Mr. Li is being held in the Daheishan Detention Center.

13. [Yangxin County, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Lifeng Detained

Ms. Wang Lifeng is being held in the Shandong Province Women's Prison.

14. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. Bai Yushu Arrested

Fan Zhenhua, head of the Fuping County Domestic Security Division, along with other officers, all of whom were in plainclothes, showed up at Mr. Bai Yushu's home and ransacked it on January 22, 2016. They confiscated four Falun Gong books and some Falun Gong informational materials.

Mr. Bai, in his seventies, was taken to the Domestic Security Division for interrogation. He was released after 4:00 p.m. The officers ransacked his home again and confiscated about 1,000 Falun Gong brochures, calendars, and amulets.

15. [Tianjin] Ms. Li Yanxia and Ms. Wu Donghong Detained

Ms. Li Yanxia and Ms. Wu Donghong from the Bohai Oil Corporation, Binhai New Area, were arrested by officers from the Tanggu Police Department on January 25, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin. Both practitioners were detained for 15 days.

16. [Tianjin] Ms. Wang Hui Arrested

Ms. Wang Hui from the Nankai District was arrested by officers from the Wangdingdi Police Station on the afternoon of January 25, 2016. Her home was ransacked. She was taken to the Nankai District Detention Center at around 1:30 a.m.

Ms. Wang developed symptoms of high blood pressure and coronary heart disease that day. Her condition worsened on January 27. She was taken to the Tianjin General Hospital emergency room for treatment.

The detention center and the police station released her on medical parole.

17. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Zeping Detained

Mr. Zhang Zeping was arrested by officers from the Dongyao Police Station on January 29, 2016, for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. His home was ransacked. He is being held in the Tangshan No. 1 Detention Center.

18. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wang Shuzhi and two other practitioners were arrested on the morning of January 30, 2016.

19. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Chunhuan Detained

Approximately a dozen officers from the Jiaoqu Police Station and the Domestic Security Division broke into Ms. Li Chunhuan's home in Aoqi Village, Aoqi Town, Jiaoqu District, on January 25, 2016.

They broke open the door and rushed into her home. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, a printer, DVDs, tapes, two cases of printer paper, ink, and other materials.

Ms. Li was handcuffed, taken to the Changqing Police Station, and interrogated until 2:00 a.m. She was then taken to the Jiamusi Detention Center.

The detention center refused to admit her due to high blood pressure. She was taken to the No. 2 Affiliated Hospital of Jiamusi University for treatment, but her blood pressure remained high. She returned home on January 26, 2016.

20. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Shuyan Detained

Ms. Wang Shuyan was arrested by three patrol officers from the Liuying Road Police Station on the afternoon of January 21, 2016. She was taken to the police station and handcuffed to a bench during the interrogation.

She was then taken to the Weizigou Detention Center for 15 days of detention, where she was forced to undergo brainwashing.
