Additional Persecution News from China – July 29, 2016 (19 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 13 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 20 were illegally arrested.

1. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Yuanzhi and Ms. Sun Weiping Detained, Ms. Zheng Weili Released

Ms. Xu Yuanzhi, Ms. Zheng Weili, and Ms. Sun Weiping were arrested for telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong on July 26, 2016, by officers from the Wendeng Domestic Security Division. Ms. Sun and Ms. Xu were detained, and Ms. Zheng was released the same day.

2. [Tianjin] Ms. Fu Shaojuan Detained for More Than a Year

Ms. Fu Shaojuan from the Hexi District was arrested on March 2, 2015. She has been incarcerated at the Hexi Police Department Detention Center.

3. [Xiangyang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Fulian Detained

Ms. Li Fulian was arrested for telling people about Falun Gong on the morning of July 13, 2016 by officers from the Tuanshan Police Station. She was first detained at the Xiangzhou District Detention Center, then transferred to the Xiangyang City No. 1 Detention Center on July 22, 2016. Her family is not allowed to visit her.

4. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yu Guifang Arrested

Ms. Yu Guifang was arrested at home on July 23, 2016. Her home was ransacked.

5. [Xianning City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Jiaotao Detained for 20 Days

Ms. Zhang Jiaotao from the Xianan District was arrested on the evening of July 22, 2016 by officers from the Maqiao Town Police Station, for telling people about Falun Gong. She was subjected to ten days of detention and is being held at the Xianan District Detention Center.

6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Shen Guihua, Ms. Shen Guixia, and Ms. Liu from the Kaixuan Boiler Factory were arrested before dawn on July 21, 2016 by officers from the Nongan County Domestic Security Division, while they were doing Falun Gong exercises outdoors. Ms. Shen Guihua was subjected to a 3-month detention, and is being held at the Changchun No. 4 Detention Center. The other two were subjected to 15 days of detention and are being held in Nongan County.

7. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang County] Ms. E Guifeng Missing Since 2000

Ms. E Guifend, 56, has been missing since 2000, when she went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong.

8. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Huang Deli and Family Arrested

Mr. Huang Deli of Jinan City and his family were arrested for distributing Falun Gong fliers at noon on July 26, 2016 by officers from the Qingyang Police Station, when they were sight-seeing in the Grand Canyon in Pingshun County, Changzhi City, Shanxi Province. Mr. Huang and his two sister-in-laws are being detained. The other family members were released.

9. [Chongqing] Mr. Liu Daoquan Shackled in Hospital

Mr. Liu Daoquan is still hospitalized in a ward for severe conditions, in the Gastroenterology Division of Yongchuan People's Hospital. His wife and brother were allowed one visit. Mr. Liu's wrists and ankles were shackled. His trachea incision had been sutured, but he spoke with extreme difficulty.

10. [Tianjin] Ms. He Aiyun's Appeal Denied

Ms. He Aiyun was arrested by officers from the Yuexiulu Police Station, Hexi District, and sentenced to a three-year prison term in 2016. Her appeal was denied recently. She has been held at the Hexi Police Department Detention Center.

11. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Qi Ruizhen Arrested

Ms. Qi Ruizhen, from Liaolan Town, Pingdu City, was arrested on the morning of July 18, 2016 by agents from the Pingdu 610 Office, and officers from Wanjia Police Statin in Liaolan Town. Her Falun Gong books and printouts were confiscated.

12. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Mr. Yi Yushan and Mr. Li Shijie Sentenced

Two practitioners in their eighties, Mr. Yi Yushan and Mr. Li Shijie, were sentenced to 18-month prison terms, with two years probation, and fined 2,000 yuan on July 21, 2016 by the Yuhua District Court.

13. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yao Fengyun Arrested

Ms. Yao Fengyun of Huanggu District was arrested on July 27, 2016 and her home was ransacked. Her computer and other items were confiscated. Her whereabouts are unknown.

14. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Huang Shuqiong Sentenced

Ms. Huang Shuqiong of Yingchun Village, Junle Town was secretly sentenced to a two-and-a-half-year prison term on July 21, 2016.

15. [Beijing] Ms. Qi Xiuhua Arrested

Ms. Qi Xiuhua, 71, from Chaoyang District, was arrested at home on July 21, 2016. Two officers took her to the Nanmofang Police Station. She was interrogated before being released that night. Officers from the Domestic Security Division ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong related items.

16. [Jiaozuo City, Henan Province] Mr. Zhang Zhe Arrested

Mr. Zhang Zhe was arrested on May 27, 2016. His whereabouts are unknown.

17. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Peng Yunchang Detained

Mr. Peng Yunchang was arrested by plainclothes officers on the afternoon of July 27, 2016, when he was distributing Falun Gong materials. His home was ransacked. He was detained for three days.

18. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Six Practitioner Arrests Related to Trial of Mr. Niu Qingquan

Mr. Niu Qingquan was tried by the Zichuan District Court on the morning of July 28, 2016. Ms. Niu Jinghua was arrested in front of the court gate for distributing Falun Gong fliers.

Five practitioners from Zhangdian District who came to listen to the trial were arrested by officer Wei Guoning from the Zichuan Domestic Security Division. Mr. Wang Hao has been detained. The remaining four women practitioners were released after photos were taken of them.

19. [Nongan County, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Caixia and Ms. Liu Dongyang Detained

Ms. Wang Caixia from Changchun City and her daughter Ms. Liu Dongyang were arrested at home on the morning of July 21, 2016 by officers from the Nongan County Police Department. The officers ransacked their home, and confiscated Falun Gong teacher's picture, Falun Gong books, a cash register, a printer, a computer, a cell phone, and 17,000 yuan in cash. The mother and daughter are detained at the Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center.
