Additional Persecution News from China – July 12, 2021 (20 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 47 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Hailin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Fu Zhaocui Placed Under Official Arrest

Ms. Fu Zhaocui was arrested by officers from the Hailin City Police Department on June 10, 2021. Her home was ransacked and many personal belongings were confiscated. She was later bailed out due to her poor health. 

Ms. Fu was taken to the Hailin City Procuratorate by two officers from the No. 2 Police Station and officer Zhang XX from the Domestic Security Division on July 10, 2021. She was placed under official arrest. Ms. Fu is now released on bail pending trial. 

2. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Gangli Faces Second Hearing

Ms. Liu Gangli was tried for the first time in the No.1 Detention Center on May 13, 2021. Her family was not allowed to attend the hearing. 

Ms. Liu will have the second hearing in the court of the Shenyang Economic and Technological Development Zone on July 19, 2021. 

3. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Lu Guoyao Harassed

Mr. Lu Guoyao in his 70s lives in Siqian Village, Jiaoxi Town. When three officers in police uniform from the Ducun Police Station came to his home on the morning of June 26, 2021, Mr. Lu was resting in bed. Before he could react, the officers quickly pierced his middle finger with a needle and collected his blood sample. 

4. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Xixing Arrested

Mr. Liu Xixing was arrested on the evening of July 6, 2021. His home was ransacked. Mr. Liu was taken to the Dianzi brainwashing center. 

5. [Jiangyou City, Sichuan Province] Five Practitioners Harassed

Officers from the Jiangyou City Police Department harassed five practitioners and ransacked their homes on June 23, 2021. The practitioners are Mr. Du Zhijun, Ms. Wu Qihui, Mr. Wei Bin, Mr. Zhang Qizhong, and Ms. Xu Houfen.

6. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Meiling and Ms. Zhang Xiuyun Harassed

Two officers from the Guocheng Police Station went to the homes of Ms. Zhang Meiling and Ms. Zhang Xiuyun in the Yixinyuan Community of Beiluo on June 27, 2021. They confiscated the book Zhuan Falun from Ms. Zhang Xiuyun’s home. 

7. [Jingzhou County, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhou Aihua Arrested 

Ms. Zhou Aihua, 67, was arrested around June 27, 2021, when she passed the security checkpoint at the Huaihua High-speed Railway Station. She is currently detained in the Huaihua Detention Center. Her family was not allowed to visit her. 

While Ms. Zhou was detained, the police took her key and ransacked her home. They confiscated a laptop, a photo of Falun Gong's founder, her Falun Gong books, etc. 

8. [Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xia Lingmei Arrested

Ms. Xia Lingmei from the Shanting District was arrested by officers from the Shanting District Police Department around June 20, 2021. 

9. [Xiaogan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Ding Cilan Arrested

Ms. Ding Gilan from Yunmeng County and another practitioner were arrested on February 9, 2021, when they were in a market. They were taken to the Chengnan Police Station by Lu Hongzhou, head of the Yunmeng County Domestic and Security Division, and other officers. Ms. Ding has returned home. 

10. [Shenzhou City, Hebei Province] Case Against Ms. Zhang Xincha Submitted to Procuratorate

Ms. Zhang Xincha, 67, went to a police station to deliver truth-clarifying materials in the summer of 2020 and was arrested later. She was released on bail pending trial due to her poor health.

One year later, Ms. Zhang was summoned by the Shenzhou City Procuratorate to go through the legal procedure. The case against her has been transferred to the Anping County Procuratorate. 

11. [Linying County, Henan Province] Ms. Cheng Fengqin Arrested and Detained

Ms. Cheng Fengqin was arrested on June 3, 2021, and was detained in the No. 2 Detention Center of Luohe City for 15 days. She was released on bail pending trial. She is ordered to remain in contact at all times. 

12. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xia Bayun Arrested

Ms. Xia Bayun, 66, was arrested at home by several officers from the Huangpi District on July 7, 2021. It is unknown where she is now.

13. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Shufang Arrested 

Ms. Zhao Shufang was arrested by officers from the Longtan District in early June 2021. She was interrogated in the police department. Her home was ransacked. Her personal belongings including a book of Zhuan Falun, two pendants, a calendar, a photo of Falun Gong's founder, a media player, and many Dafa books, were confiscated. 

14. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Lin Shuhua and Ms. Lin Shujie Harassed

Ms. Lin Shuhua and Ms. Lin Shujie were harassed at home by Xinxing Community staff members and the director of Jiuzhan Economic Development Sub-district on May 18, 2021. The practitioners refused to open the door for them. They called their family members who made another appointment under the pressure. 

Nine people came again on the morning of May 21, 2021. They photographed the two practitioners and pressured them to sign a guarantee statement, which they refused.

15. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Sun Xiumei and Ms. Li Chunmei Arrested

Ms. Sun Xiumei and Ms. Li Chunmei are from Qianwangzhuang Village, Houcun Town, Quzhou County. They were arrested by officers from the Yizhuang Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of July 11, 2021. The officers traveled in four police cars and went to the Qianwangzhuang Village where they ransacked both practitioners’ homes. 

16. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested 

Ms. Li Xiuyun works in the Nuerhe Textile Factory in Jinzhou City. Several plainclothes officers came to her home on July 9, 2021, and arrested Ms. Li and two other practitioners Ms. Zhang Xiulan and Ms. Wang Yulan who were visiting Ms. Li. All three practitioners were taken to the Taihe District Police Department and their homes were ransacked. 

17. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Jingyi Harassed

Five people from the Shuguang Road Neighborhood Community and the Shuguang Road Police Station in Nanguan District went to Ms. Li Jingyi’s home on the evening of June 23, 2021. They pretended to be the delivery persons and tricked Ms. Li’s family member to open the door for them. They pressured Ms. Li to sign on three blank sheets of paper and then left. 

18. [Beijing] Ms. Fu Xiuyun Arrested

Police officer Hou Tengfei and the director of the local neighborhood community came to Ms. Fu Xiuyun’s home on the evening of June 18, 2021. Ms. Fu was not at home. The next day, the officers came and knocked on their doors several times to look for Ms. Fu. They came to harass her family members including Ms. Fu’s husband, her son, and her daughter-in-law every day, for ten consecutive days. They also tracked Ms. Fu’s cell phone. 

Eight people from the Enjizhuang Police Station and local residential community office came to Ms. Fu’s home around 10 p.m., June 30, 2021. They broke the lock and went inside. Ms. Fu was arrested. She was detained in the Enjizhuang Police Station for two days. She was placed under 14-day administration detention and was transferred to the Haidian District Detention Center on July 2, 2021. 

Ms. Fu was found to have a high blood sugar level that needed to be controlled with medicine and insulin. Ms. Fu refused to take any insulin. The next day, she was sent back to the local police station and later was sent back home by neighborhood community staff members. 

19. [Qinglong County, Hebei Province] 18 Practitioners Harassed

Practitioners in Qinglong Town and its affiliated villages have been harassed constantly by town government officials and town police officers since May 2021. The practitioners were pressured to sign a guarantee statement and threatened with the cancellation of their benefits and their children’s schooling if they did not cooperate. 

Mr. Chang Yuzhou from Malagou Village was harassed at home by village official Chen Chun and two officers including Liu Baisong from the Qinglong Town Police Station on the morning of May 10, 2021. The officers photographed Mr. Chang and attempted to arrest him, which was stopped by the village officials. 

From the morning of May 10 to the afternoon of May 11, 2021, officer Liu Baisong and another officer harassed the other practitioners in the Malagou Village including Ms. Pang Yuzhi, Ms. Wen Guixia, Huang Guisheng, Ms. Meng Guangzhou, Ms. Zhao Xiulan, Ms. Wang Shulan, Ms. Zhang Yuping, Ms. Zhang Yuxiang, and Ms. Xiao Lizhi. The practitioners were pressured to sign a guarantee statement. 

Officers Liu Huihui and Zhao from the Qinglong Town Police Station went to harass Ms. Dong Sufen in Qinglong Town on the afternoon of June 20, 2021. They photographed Ms. Dong without her permission.

Recently police officers from the Qinglong Town Police Station also harassed the practitioners from the medical field including Zhang Liying, Lu Guili, and Tong Caiping, and the practitioners from the Tukanzi including Xiao Lianren, Yang Yunshan, Yang Zuoqing, and Yang Xiuyan. 

20. [Hailin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yao Shuxia’s Appeal Against Wrongful Sentence Rejected

Ms. Yao Shuxia was sentenced to six years and three months by the Hailin City Court in April 2021. She appealed to the Mudanjiang City Intermediate Court. The judge of the higher court ruled to uphold her original verdict. She has been taken to the Harbin Women's Prison on July 8, 2021.
