(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 5 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] The Case Against Ms. Li Shufan Submitted to the Court
2. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhang Sifeng Arrested and Detained
3. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Eight Practitioners Detained
4. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Cao Guozhen Persecuted
5. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zang Yongjian Persecuted
1. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] The Case Against Ms. Li Shufan Submitted to the Court
Ms. Li Shufan, 77, from Ningjiang District, was arrested in early October 2023 for talking to people about Falun Gong and was released on bail pending trial. Her case was submitted to the Ningjiang District Court. She was taken to the Songyuan City Detention Center but was denied admission on December 20, 2023.
2. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhang Sifeng Arrested and Detained
Mr. Zhang Sifeng, about 70, was arrested and held for 15 days in a detention house. After he was released, he was directly taken to the Qiaokou Brainwashing Center.
3. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Eight Practitioners Detained
Over 30 practitioners were arrested in Jilin City on June 4, 2023. Among them, over 10 practitioners including Ms. Li Wenhua, Ms. Liu Yinghua, Jiang Ruihua, Yin Fuying, Wu Shunhua, Xia Guihua, Xu Min, and Lu Shuzhen, are still held in the Jilin City Detention Center.
The families of Ms. Li Wenhua and Ms. Liu Yinghua were informed by the Chuanying District Court on December 4, 2023, that both practitioners were tried in the court and fined 3,000 yuan respectively.
4. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Cao Guozhen Persecuted
Mr. Cao Guozhen was released from the Jinan Prison on March 8, 2023. The village director and officer Zhao from the Zhulu Town Police Station picked up Mr. Cao from the prison and took him to the police station. Mr. Cao was pressured to sign the guarantee statement which he firmly refused.
Officer Zhao from the Zhulu Town Police Station and a town official Li drove over 350 km to Mr. Cao’s workplace in Yantai City on August 23, 2023 to harass him.
Mr. Cao was tricked by three officers from the Zhulu Town Police Station to go to the Chengbei Police Station in Junan County on December 7, 2023. He was interrogated for two hours.
5. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zang Yongjian Persecuted
Ms. Zang Yongjian was arrested in November 2022 and was detained in the Baoding Detention Center. She was arrested again in March or April 2023. Her current situation is unknown.
