(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 9 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xiong Lihua Detained
2. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zheng Lizhu Arrested
3. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Li Qun’e Detained
4. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Yang Jie Disappeared
5. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Zuomei Sentenced
6. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. E Yuzhi Imprisoned
7. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Chongyang Sentenced
8. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhong Arrested
9. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Tian Lili Detained

1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xiong Lihua Detained

Ms. Xiong Lihua was arrested on January 17, 2024, when she talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was put into the Dongxihu District Detention Center. Her detention term will end on February 1.

2. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zheng Lizhu Arrested

Ms. Zheng Lizhu, 72, lives in Lihe Township, Chengfa Town. She was arrested at home by officers from the Chengfa Town Police Station on the afternoon of January 23, 2024. They seized the picture of Falun Gong’s founder and took her to the police station. She returned home with the picture around 9:00 p.m. after the detention center refused to admit her due to her high blood pressure.

3. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Li Qun’e Detained

Ms. Li Qun’e distributed Falun Gong flyers and “Fu” wall decors (a tradition new year decor, “Fu” character means blessing) in Yangshi Town, Guiyang County on the morning of January 28, 2024, and was arrested by officers from the Yangshi Town Police Station. She is being held in the Chenzhou City Detention Center.

4. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Yang Jie Disappeared

Ms. Yang Jie, 63, disappeared. She was last seen at her home in Qiushi Village, Zhejiang University in late November 2023.

5. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Zuomei Sentenced

Ms. Zhang Zuomei lives in Honglanzhong Village, Nancun Town, Pingdu City. She was sentenced to a year in prison by the Huangdao District Court in December, 2022. She was not imprisoned because she is sick.

6. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. E Yuzhi Imprisoned

Ms. E Yuzhi of Wulao area, Wanghua District was sentenced to 14 months in prison. She was put into the 12^th Ward in Dabei Prison on December 28, 2023.

7. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Chongyang Sentenced

Mr. Wang Chongyang, around 49, was arrested in July, 2023, and was sentenced to four years in prison. His eighty-seven-year-old father was under great stress and developed Alzheimers. His mother has trouble walking due to leg ulcer caused by high blood sugar. They are without caregiver because Mr. Wang is imprisoned.

8. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhong Arrested

Ms. Zhong, first name unknown, in her 50s, visited her child in Xi’an City from out of town. She was arrested at her child’s home in Hongmiaopo, Lianhu District, by Hongmiaopo police on the afternoon of September 9, 2023. Her whereabouts are unknown.
