(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 17 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

11. [Zhengding County, Hebei Province] Ms. Bai Yujing Returns Home After Serving a Seven-Year Prison Term
1. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuqin Faces Trial
Ms. Zhang Xiuqin was arrested in the Mingxing Residential Community near Tiedong Market on January 17, 2024. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her personal belongings. Ms. Zhang was admitted to the Jinzhou City Women’s Detention Center and will be tried in the Linghai City Court at 9:30 a.m. on April 11, 2024.
2. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Zhan Ruihua and Huang Licheng Tried
Zhan Ruihua and Huang Licheng (genders unknown) will be tried for the third time in the Aimin District Court at 2 p.m. on April 12, 2024.
3. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Shuhua and Ms. Wang Wenqin Face Trial
Ms. Liu Shuhua and Ms. Wang Wenqin from Zhucheng City were arrested by Zhucheng City Domestic Security Division officers on July 24, 2023. They have been held in Weifang City Detention Center. Their cases were brought to the Zhucheng City Court by Zhucheng City Domestic Security Division and the Procuratorate. They will be tried in the Zhucheng City Court on April 19, 2024.
4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Chen Jinghui Missing
Ms. Chen Jinghui, 55, disappeared after she went out in the morning on March 18, 2024. Her family looked everywhere for her. Before she disappeared, people from the local property management and police station harassed her at home.
5. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Lang Dafen Released on Bail
Youzha Street Police Station officers in the Nanming District broke into Ms. Lang Dafen’s home at noon on March 18, 2024. They confiscated a large number of Falun Gong books. They took Ms. Lang and her daughter-in-law, who were resting at home, to the police station. They told her daughter-in-law to sign paperwork.
At 1 p.m., Ms. Lang was taken to Nanming District Detention Center. Her case was classified as a criminal case and reported to higher authorities. Ms. Lang was taken to the Nanming District Hospital for an ultrasound. There was a large amount of fluid in her chest, and she suffered from serious pericardial effusion, which was life-threatening. The police still took her to Sanjiang Detention Center, forced her to put on a prison uniform, and shaved her head. Because, according to the hospital exam, Ms. Lang had edema, the detention center refused to accept her. The police had to ask her daughter to sign a bail and take her home.
6. [Qidong County, Hunan Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison
Mr. Kuang Zhongyao from Buyunqiao Town was sentenced to seven years in prison in November 2022. Mr. Tang Bingsheng was sentenced to seven years and two months in prison in October 2022. Zhou Xinlai was sentenced to five years in prison in October 2022.
7. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Hao Cunlan Arrested
When Ms. Hao Cunlan from the Wanquan District was talking to people about Falun Gong on March 12, 2024, plainclothes officers spotted her. They followed her to the community where she lives. They waited in the hallway and turned off the electricity to her apartment. When Ms. Hao stepped out of her apartment, they arrested her and took her to the criminal police team. She was then taken to the Zhangjiakou City Detention Center and held for ten days.
After she was released, the Wanquan District Political and Legal Affairs Committee sent officials from Zoujiazhuang Village to her home. They tried to force her to sign paperwork, but she refused.
On March 13, officers from Anjiabao Township Police Station went to Ms. Liu Sufang’s home to harass her and take photos. The police also confiscated two copies of Minghui Weekly.
8. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Linfeng Arrested
Liu Tao and others from the Weihai Economic Zone Domestic Security Division went to Mr. Liu Linfeng’s home on March 22, 2024, claiming they were checking household registration information. They took Mr. Liu to the Huangguan Police Station for questioning. They confiscated a heavy-duty paper cutter and a printer. That afternoon, they took Mr. Liu to Weihai Economic Hospital for a physical exami. He was then taken to the Weihai City Detention Center and held for 10 days.
Mr. Liu refused to cooperate. He refused to wear the prison uniform, eat, or drink. On the fifth day, the detention center refused to accept Mr. Liu and took him to the district hospital for a physical exam before sending him home.
9. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Yufeng Detained
Four people from the Yushu City 610 Office, the Domestic Security Division, and the Chengfa Township Police Station broke into Ms. Li Yufeng’s home on March 15, 2024. Two of them grabbed her arms, two others grabbed her legs, and they carried her to a police car. She was detained for five days.
10. [Dingxing County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhuo Xiaoling and Ms. Yang Shumei Arrested
Four officers from the Hebei Police Station in Beihe Town broke into practitioners’ homes. They arrested Ms. Zhuo Xiaoling and Ms. Yang Shumei and took them to the police station.
11. [Zhengding County, Hebei Province] Ms. Bai Yujing Returns Home After Serving a Seven-Year Prison Term
Ms. Bai Yujing was sentenced to seven years in prison. She returned home on March 16, 2024, after she was released from Hebei Women’s Prison.
