(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 8 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Linjiang City, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Weizhi Arrested Again

After Mr. Wang Weizhi was arrested in June 2023, he was found to have symptoms of tuberculosis during a physical examination. The Baishan City Detention Center refused to accept him, and he was taken to the Fusong County Detention Center, which also refused to accept him.

Shi Dengfeng, deputy director of the Linjiang City Police Department, took Mr. Wang to the Baishan City Detention Center where he was held for 15 days. Mr. Wang went on a hunger strike for 10 days. On July 21, 2023, he was released on bail.

Around May 25, officers from the Linjiang City Domestic Security Division arrested Mr. Wang again and sent him to the Jingyu County Detention Center.

2. [Chongqing] Ms. Gao Xinglan Arrested

Ms. Gao Xinglan from Changshou District was arrested on May 24, 2024. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a computer and Falun Gong books. She was taken to the police station for interrogation until 5 p.m. She returned home that day. Afterwards, Ms. Gao went to the Yanjia Police Station twice to ask that the books and other confiscated items be returned to her. The police told her that they would notify her to come pick them up in a few days.

On the morning of May 30, Ms. Gao received a call from the police station asking her to go there. At two o’clock in the afternoon, she and her husband went to the police station. As soon as they entered, Ms. Gao was arrested. The officers said she would be detained for five days.

3. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Pan Surong Detained

Pan Surong (gender unknown) from Dashawo Village, Bachigang Town, Luannan County, was arrested by plainclothes officers at the Fanggezhuang farmers market on the morning of May 31, 2024. Pan was taken to the Wantuo Police Station and then to a detention center.

4. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Xi’ai Harassed

The Jingxiu District Police Department coordinated the arrests of 12 Falun Gong practitioners and searched their homes on the evening of April 9, 2024. The officers learned that someone had given a small gourd, as an amulet, to Ms. Wang Xi’ai (who around 80 years old). The officers raided Ms. Wang’s home that night, and confiscated a large number of Falun Gong books.

On May 30, Zhang Yong, political head of the Jingxiu District Police Department and Zhai, director of the Fuchang Township Police Station, went to harass Ms. Wang again and wanted to know who gave her the amulet.

5. [Zunhua City, Hebei Province] Ms. He Yuhua Harassed

Since mid-May 2024, officers from the Xindianzi Town Police Station, the Cuijiazhuang Township Police Station, the Xiaochang Township Police Station, the Jianming Town Police Station, and the Sujiawa Town Police Station have persistently harassed Falun Gong practitioners. Some officers called them, some went to practitioners’ homes, and some forcibly photographed practitioners.

Officers from the Sujiawa Town Police Station went to Ms. He Yuhua’s home. Ms. He is over 80 years old and refused to go along with their harassment. She stayed in bed. The officers ordered her two sons to hold her on either side, and forcibly took pictures of her.

6. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Practitioners Constantly Harassed Between March and May

Based on incomplete statistics, over the past two months between March and May 2024, Falun Gong practitioners in Jinpu New Area have been harassed to various degrees by police officers, who visited their homes or made phone calls.

Ms. Sun Juan was arrested by several policemen from the Youyi Police Station while she was talking to people about Falun Gong on April 5. It was reported that a week before, a building manager led plainclothes officers to her home to question her and take photos.

Ms. Gu Li was constantly harassed by the Pulandian City Court in April.

In March, several Falun Gong practitioners who live in Bohai Community, Bali Village, and Qili Village in Jinpu New Area were also harassed by the police over the phone or at their homes. Some were ordered to sign paperwork and to have their pictures taken.

7. [Yiyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Yang Yingqing Arrested

Three officers from the Zihukou Town Police Station, in Ziyang District broke into Ms. Yang Yingqing’s home and ransacked the place around 9 a.m. on April 12, 2024. The police took her shoulder bag from the cupboard, and found 18 amulets, six paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them, copies of Minghui Weekly, and Master Li Hongzhi’s recent article “How Humankind Came To Be.” One of them immediately made a phone call. Soon, two police cars and a group of police officers arrived. They forcibly dragged Ms. Yang into the car, and took her to the Zihukou Town Police Station. They demanded to know where these items came from.

Around 2 p.m., two people from the Yiyang City State Security Division arrived, and harassed Ms. Yang until around 7 p.m. She was then taken to the Yiyang City Rule of Law Center and to a hospital in Yiyang City for a physical examination. Afterwards, she was brought back to the interrogation room. Three police officers handcuffed her hands behind her back and dragged her into the room where they attempted to force her to provide her fingerprints and sign paperwork. She refused.

On the morning of April 13, the police took Ms. Yang to a detention center. She developed a health condition, and the detention center would not accept her. The officers wanted to take her to a hospital, which did not work out. Ms. Yang was later taken home by her family.
