(Minghui.org) A Linyi City, Shandong Province resident serving four years for her faith in Falun Gong has been barred from taking showers since her prison admission four months ago.
Ms. Feng Guichun, in her 30s and an employee of the Linyi City Central Blood Bank, was arrested on August 24, 2023 and sentenced to four years on May 30, 2024. Her appeal was rejected on September 30, and she was admitted to the Shandong Province Women’s Prison on October 17, 2024. She has been held in solitary confinement since entering the prison.
The prison guards arranged inmates to monitor Ms. Feng around the clock. They forced her to watch videos smearing Falun Gong and its founder. When she refused to sign statements to renounce Falun Gong, the guards grabbed her hands to force her signature.
Ms. Feng’s family was warned not to mention any words remotely related to cultivation practice (such as “heaven” and “gods”) or they would not be allowed to visit her in prison. Every time her family saw her, they noted her hair was severely matted. She said she was not allowed to shower at all. There was also a red tag on her clothes. A prison guard said that different colors of tags were used to indicate the “tier-level” (likely security level) each inmate was assigned to. He didn’t elaborate on what “red” meant, but Ms. Feng said she could not purchase as many daily necessities as other inmates were allowed to.
Every family visit was monitored by the guards in charge, one of them surnamed Bi. They also took notes of the conversations. Ms. Feng would not answer when her loved ones asked if she was tortured by being forced to sit on a small stool or subjected to other forms of abuse.
